Shuttling Between the Two Worlds

Chapter 68: Illusion [4]

Few moments before the black figure was fully rejected of this world...

"Fu-"

Just like the Divine Sense attack from before, Lugh quickly lost consciousness. Since he is in an illusion, he couldn't feel what happened to him. Only, he felt that he 'died'.

When he woke up from what seemed like a deep sleep, the panel's message greeted him.

[Warning! Warning! An attack exceeding the Ten-times limit had killed the user! Exp needed for Revival has been increased to times 8!]

[Exp deduction complete. The revival has been initiated.]

"8M EXP.. Another Deity-Realm Combatant out of nowhere?!"

When Lugh stepped into the Law Realm, the cost of his revival skyrocketed to 1M EXP. With the fact that it surpassed his limit by 10 times, it meant that a Deity-Realm Combatant killed him. With that said, Lugh checked his current EXP.

[EXP: 5,002]

"I killed the zergs outside and the people here, plus the 2M EXP that I left as a precaution. To think that my EXP had only barely reached 8M."

This is the time that Lugh realized his overconfidence. Since he thought that there wouldn't be any Deity-Realm Combatants here, he thought that saving around 2M EXP is enough. He didn't expect that he could've died right now.

"Shit.. I should start saving 8M EXP right now. With the revival mechanism, its enough."

The revival mechanism are the rules of revival that he found. There's one where he'll only get revived if the panel deems it to be 'safe'. That's also the reason why back then, he revived without any zergs in his surroundings.

"Hm? Soft.."

When he finally came into himself, he noticed that he is lying into something soft. When he set his vision straight upwards, he saw it. Two medium-sized mountains covered some of his sight. Moreover, he saw a very familiar face.

"Aria?"

There, he saw Aria with her eyes closed. She looked like she's sleeping right now.

{Master?}

'Xiao Song? Can you tell me what happened?'

{Master, you collapsed the moment you opened the door. The doorknob has the power to send a person into an illusion, it seems.}

'Time didn't pass after that illusion, I see. Then, I should've collapsed since I died.'

When a person took the illusion trial, there should've been only 2 outcomes. Either he fails and he gets rebounded back to the corridor or he succeeds and steps into that room.

But, Lugh died. Since this wasn't a part of the mechanism, it counted as him succeeding. Though, Xiao Song told him just how much of a panic he brought. Thanks to his disguise, both Aria and her Master didn't find out that he died.

Still, both of them became confused. As the time passed and he still didn't wake up, Aria almost cried. It was all thanks to her Master comforting her that she held it in. She sensed that <Savior's Armament> is still at an 'owned' state. Meaning, its owner is still alive.

'Thank you.'

{It was no trouble, Master.}

After thanking her for the explanation, the other pop ups captured his attention.

[Requirements met. Corruption Resistance levels up to 6!]

[Requirements met. Decisiveness levels up to 6!]

[Requirements met. Damage Offset levels up to 6!]

[Requirements met. Resilience levels up to 5!]

[You survived a danger worse than 'Apocalyptic Extinction'. Sixth Sense levels up to 6!]

"Holy sh.."

What caught Lugh's attention is of course, the 'Apocalyptic Extinction' on a notice. Ever since he got [Sixth Sense], he vaguely understood that there are 6 levels of danger, namely: Slight Danger, Dangerous, Very Dangerous, Perilous, Extinction, and Apocalyptic Extinction. The last one would only appear when a danger capable of World Destruction appears. An example of that are the zergs.

But.. He just survived something worse than that.

'What the fuck? What the fuck? What the fuck?'

Thanks to his revival chance, the level of dangers doesn't matter for Lugh. The reason why its ranked like that is not only because of its influence to Lugh, but also on his surroundings, and even the World. If the danger level is high, he would most likely not be able to respawn in a short time.

'Why the fuck?'

His mind kept spiralling downwards that he forgot to use [Decisiveness].

'Mom, Dad, Sis.. My family, my friends. Aria. Fuck.'

Not only that, this danger seems to be interested on him. If so, he would most likely put the ones close to him in danger. The zergs are enough to put an entire world in jeopardy. What about that black entity? Just how strong is it?

He stood up from Aria's lap. Of course, he had done so very quietly. After that, he finally used [Decisiveness]. His mind cleared up a lot. Then, he began thinking about the series of events just now.

When he thought about it more, it is stupid to leave just like that. If he leaves, what could he do if that bastard aims for them when he's away? This is not a novel, where leaving seems to solve everything.

'If I'm here, I can still serve as their cannon fodder. I have the panel.'

Recalling what happened earlier, it seemed that the panel is capable of fighting against it. The black entity and the black crystal was ejected out of my illusion, no, it should've been something else. It is probably what some calls "Visiting another timeline".

'Panel and the world.. These two forces are my allies. The black entity and that crystal are my enemies.'

Right now, Lugh concluded that he should've attracted some troublesome being when he visited that timeline. Though, it remains to be seen if it existed even before Red's regression or something else.

"Lugh? Don't go.."

"Aria?"

Surprised, Lugh noticed that Aria already stood up and reached to him. In no time, she hugged him tightly. Due to his build not being that bulky even though he already experienced the first metamorphosis, she is able to hug him completely.

Seeing her panicked face, Lugh didn't try to stop her or something. When she calmed down, she finally let go.

"Sorry. I just had a bad dream."

"Dream?"

"A dream where you disappeared."

'Disappeared? Did she go visit the past of something?'

"Don't worry, I'm here. I won't die."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Unexpectedly, she began to tear up again. Realizing that he said almost the same thing as the Lugh from before, he knew he messed up. With [Decisiveness], he began searching for solutions. Thankfully, one came down to him automatically.

"You're finally here."

In this large bedroom filled with girly stuff, a huge white dragon spoke.

"Master."

They had finally reached the core of the inheritance grounds. The place where Alina's remnant soul resides.
