So, I'm a witch, so what?

Interlude: Genocide

"The preparations are ready. We are waiting for your orders, sir." A messenger delivers his message to me while I read some critical documents sent to me by the crown.

"Excellent. We will wait a few more days before we raid the Witch's last fortress." The messenger listens to my words and writes them down just to immediately depart. An opportunity like this has never presented itself.

The Witch Kingdom used to be big and mighty under the protection of the last Queen, but since her death and the conflict they entered against a new "clan," their numbers aren't so great anymore. Their witch count used to exceed one hundred thousand, but after many battles and retreats, they have been reduced to less than ten thousand.

Witches are troublesome, to say the least. They look human, yet they are nothing like us regarding base stats. Not even the Elves get close to their base stats.

Worse is that the Elves at least have disadvantages, but Witches carry none. Elves take longer to grow up and are physically weaker than humans; witches don't suffer any of those debuffs and are more potent than elves. Indeed, they need to be a banned race.

Thus, it is my duty as the pope to see them die. They will return to their former glory if I don't act now. If given enough time, they might even take over the human world. The only reason they didn't before was the elder Witch Queen, who sought to resolve everything with peaceful talks; how naive.

It's too bad for them to be targeted by everyone after their strongest asset dies. It is too bad for them but great for us indeed; a purge is needed to cleanse the Earth of those cheaters! With our coordinated efforts, not even a single witch shall survive.

Once we eliminate the current Queen, the rest of the witches will follow suit as they have become weak due to the newer generations being less experienced overall. Our "Anti-magic" division should be more than enough to take the Queen down. There's no way they can prevent what's to come, how perfect god's plans are.

As for the documents sent by the crown, I can toss those out the window. I don't care about what they want or have agreed with the Witch Queen. As far as I'm concerned, the royalty from the Wolkenheim city-state is full of traitors and should be replaced with people under my service.

So be it if I have to spill blood to achieve this goal. The people are with me, and I can provoke the masses to attack their country for a violent takeover. If I do that then the army won't be able to stop it if I also arm those "peasants," who are my greatest allies.

There's already a disconnect between the regular people and the current aristocrats of that kingdom. If I so desire, I can just push them to make them angry enough for war. People will always try to justify their actions through a mediator, so why not make the church that mediator?

Something else has also come to my attention aside from the supposed rise of another "cult." My shadows have begun to send me reports of strange sightings of elves and even demons in human territory. It is usually not good to see them around, so I will keep enough forces around the city while we destroy the witches.

How very ironic; you would think demons would be a priority counted that their race name is literally that of "demons," but they're not troublesome yet. While their race is significantly superior regarding raw magical manipulation, their intelligence level greatly nerfs them.

Demons are like giants. They're insanely powerful and mighty, but their stupidity makes them easy to defeat if you have a plan beforehand. The only demon you should worry about is the "Demon King," but besides that old bastard who is just as powerful as the elder Witch Queen once was, you shouldn't worry about regular demons.

The elves, however, are way more troublesome, but the good thing about them is their cautious lifestyle. They have come close to extinction before and seem to have learned from their near wipeout by becoming a less aggressive society.

Their main problem is their slow growth rate and birth rate. It takes a lot of time for a single elf to become a mighty soldier. Around fifty years are needed for one to become mighty, while it only takes fifteen for a human to become a warrior and 18 for a Witch.

I hope it is obvious to see why humans almost wiped out their race in a long war. While human losses are lamentable and not desired if given enough time, we will get them with a numbers game. Even if an elf is a better warrior, the fact that one of them takes such a long time to become useful is detrimental to them.

We hadn't been able to do the same with the witches because they grow fast in their younger years and slow down later in life, which is just plain cheating if you ask me. You shouldn't be able to do that, but the witches can do it, which made it hard for us to defeat them, but they made a mistake.

They decided to become more aggressive when the elder died, and naturally, a war broke out, which showed the world just how inexperienced the witches were when on the battlefield. They had enjoyed peace for a long time, and their war strategies remained the same as a thousand years prior.

A recipe for disaster that has forced them deeper and deeper into the wicked forest. They're a small force that is still inexperienced and scared; this is the best time to attack. Don't let them have peace for long and attack over and over until they become extinct.
