Peter Parker.

I finished conducting the biological operation to hack into the brain of the second criminal in New York City at half past one in the morning.

The introduction of the Worm was a success, Lincoln recovered from my paralyticism and began enthusiastically shifting funds from his accounts to mine.

Lonnie was so engrossed in the financial flows that I couldn't help but marvel at the transactions taking place. It was a good thing I'd thought about backups when I was still a trainee at Shields, in case life forced me to.

It came in handy.

As Thompson pressed Enter for the last time, dollar signs definitely appeared in my eyes. Tombstone had thrown a total of twenty million quid into six of my overseas accounts in fake names.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, and we have a winner!

And that was just his rainy day fund. And not all of it.

A fairy tale, just a fairy tale. To rob one of New York's richest gangsters with such filigree. Felicia would be proud.

I wonder where the other big-league gangsters are right now. I'm a little out of the loop, so I need to catch up. What if, with my and other street heroes' exploits, police work, and the support of Shield, maybe organised crime could be brought to an end soon?

That would be nice.

But enough daydreaming, I'm tired.

So, Pete, home? - The symbiote asked me a question while I waited for my drones to descend from the ceiling.

Yes, Raj," I secure the Spiderbots to the suit, stepping out onto the loggia.

I jump from the fiftieth floor and let out a web, savouring the few seconds of freefall.

Chances are, if Del's home, she's seen the stuff and is already waiting for me. Or Ben alerted my doppelgangers, though it's unlikely.

There's no hurry, various problems, necessities, errands or meetings will have to wait. Right now I just want to fly and enjoy the evening coolness of the first autumn day. Lucky it wasn't such a sweltering summer this year.

Still, there's no escape from reflection.

You have to meet your familiar characters. Especially mutants. I think it's time for Spidey to join the X-Men full time. Give or take. At the very least, I need to stay in the loop, help out, and maybe get some goodies out of it for myself.

You also need to keep your plan in mind and get your army ready to assemble.

And when it comes to the future Avengers, they're the place to start. At least with all future "Earth's Greatest Heroes" I already have something in common with them, except for Hulk, so it won't be superfluous to cross paths with them, find out how life is, have lunch or, at least, call them. And we can get to Green through Phil. Colson's been inviting me to meet his team for a long time.

Too bad there's no way to get in touch with Thor. No, of course, I could get Strange to make an interdimensional call, but don't I have enough trouble already?

Although, to be blunt, after merging with my symbiote and taking some time off from HYDRA, I feel...rested.

Or rather, not as wound up as I was before. With a tonne of problems, visions, unresolved issues and whatnot.

Now most of it hasn't gone anywhere, but I'm less stressed out. It's probably because of the merger. Now, instead of whining, I just prefer to deal with things.

While pondering, I didn't notice I flew to my house in Queens.

I didn't use the daytime omega jump with magic and alien disguise and simply became invisible, changing my clothes on the way to the door.

I cancelled the Clintar cloaking mode and pressed the bell.

A minute, a second and the door opens with my brown-eyed sister in a homemade outfit.

- Guess who's back? - I said with a smile, stretching my arms out in front of me.

To my surprise, Del doesn't throw his arms around me right away, and then, contrary to expectations, he doesn't try to kiss me.

Although the appearance of my surprised, scarred twin in the doorway puts things into perspective.

- Peter? - Cain whispers in shock.

- Well, hello, Agent Venom," I smirk, "what's up, brother?

In response, another long-haired relative throws his arms around me.

No, it's a shock, he's grown hair longer than Delia's! Oh, yeah?!

- Okay, okay, that's enough," I laughingly pull the clones away from me. - I missed you, too. Can't you at least let me in the house?

- Sure, come on in. - smiling brightly, Parker grabs my hand and pulls me inside.

Cain closes the door, and I focus on my sister's emotional background and wonder a little.

There's some confusion, confusion, lostness, and slight echoes of guilt in Del's emotions.

I see, I'll have to look into it.

- By the way, Cain, don't you live in my flat with Ben? - I asked, trying to cast my line and pushing my chair back to sit at the kitchen table.

- That's right," Parker nods and takes a seat at the table. - It's just that ever since HYDRA took you away, we've been patrolling together a lot, trying to vent our frustrations," the brown-haired man said with a slight sense of discomfort.

Yeah, well, Cain thinks I don't approve of venting my emotions on criminals. Though in fact I sin of such things myself, nieh-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee.

- Don't forget, you're not talking to Saint Ben, brother," I brushed back my hair lightly and glanced at Delia, who was making tea and trying not to glare. - By the way, it's a good thing I got in touch with you and calmed you down, or you'd be flying all over New York looking for HYDRA.

Cain was even a little embarrassed.

It's funny, if you ignore the precedent of Delia and I having sexual intercourse, the older clone is more attached to me than Del and Ben combined. It's just that he hides it better than the rest of us.

I'm sure by now, the newly minted Shield agent would love to know how my voice got into his head three weeks ago, but our sister was already back with the cups.

- Here's the tea," Del announced in a thin voice, and immediately grabbed her mug and started drinking, averting her eyes from me.

Now my curiosity was even greater. But then.

- So, Cain, tell me, what did you do in Shields while I was away? - I ask, taking the mug with the flavoured drink.

- It's really nothing out of the ordinary: operations, training, studying data appropriate to my clearance level, missions with the Team. You know about the Team, don't you?

- Yeah, One-Eyed Eagle tipped me off," I take a sip. - How's it going with the agents?

- Fine," Tarantula shrugs. - It's mostly to your credit, but I'm trying to keep up," Cain also takes the mug and sips the flavoured drink. - I've been doing a lot of patrols with Agent Romanoff over the last week.

- Natasha? - I have to admit, I didn't expect what I didn't expect.

- Yes," the clone nods with a slightly anxious smile. - I'll assume she suspects that I'm not you, and I guess their encounter with Delia five days ago only confirmed it.

- So you've been patrolling the city together? - I clarified, giving my sister a quick glance.

The way Del looked embarrassed at the mention of Natasha made me even more interested in what had been going on lately, and made me want to send Cain home and talk to Miss Red Widow straight.

And the brother continued, uncharacteristically, to gush.

My presence has a very, very strong effect on the clones, that's for sure.

- It's fun with the Team, too, because Silach and Fist knew you, and when they saw me as Agent Venom, they suspected something. I tried not to show off my spider abilities, I used firearms, very rarely Stingers, but sticking to surfaces sometimes slipped through, and with the others it was just a matter of showing my own behaviour.

It's still hard to accept that clones have little to no emotional conflict when it comes to me. At least the male part of them.

- I'm actually glad, Cain," I place a palm on my doppelganger's shoulder, "and very proud of you. You're doing a great job, you're doing a great job.

The praise even brought a bright smile to the clone's face, replacing the typical frown.

- Really?

- Of course," I nod. - I'll have more to say to you three, my Web Warriors, but today, I think you can rest, you deserve it.

In response, Parker only nodded, finished his tea, and after saying goodbye to Delia, left our house.

As soon as I saw my brother off and returned to the kitchen, I found Del washing mugs in the same nervous pose.

And the longer I just stood there, monitoring the situation, the more the brown-eyed girl seemed to shrink with nervousness. Delia still looked like she was just washing cups. Except that she was shivering slightly, as if from the cold.

- I won't embarrass you sis," I exhaled slightly at the way Parker flinched at my voice. - When you're done, we'll talk in the living room.

I make my way to the lounge and sit down on the couch and close my eyes, concentrating on my symbiotic processes. By the feel of it, Del's going to crumple for at least twenty minutes before we talk, so I have time to see what's going on with the Karnage fetus.

Still the same stasis. 999 is ready to be born, but I'm stalling it. I have several reasons for that.

One, I need a host for Mr Bloody, and not just anyone, but someone I can rely on. Hence the second reason, though it's more of a sub-reason: I actually have a lot of candidates, at least all three of my clones, Fey, Mary. I'm even considering Steve. And here's the problem, there's only one symbiote, but there's a lot of candidates. And then there's the problem of how 999 will behave and whether it'll obey my control.

OK, I'll think about it later.

I was just in time to come out of my subconscious, because at that very moment Delia came into the living room, nervously rubbing the edge of her homemade sundress.

- Sis, don't be afraid, I won't eat you," I patted the seat next to me, "sit down.

The girl nods briefly and sits down carefully next to me.

The silence lingers, but Del continues to sit with her head down and nervously rubbing her sundress.

- Delia, I can see you're nervous, will you tell me why? - I try to speak in the gentlest and most accommodating tone possible, but the brown-eyed girl flinches anyway.

It's funny, based on our past interactions, I thought she liked me to be tough in private, but now she's acting like a frightened doe.

I don't rush my sister and just lean back relaxed and wait for her to mature.

- I really need to tell you something, Peter," Del began confusedly.

Finally! I thought I'd have to start playing towns with Raj to make the wait go away.

- I'm listening," I take my sister's hand and look into her eyes with warmth.

It helps. The brown-eyed girl relaxes slightly, and her gaze becomes more focused, like in our training.

- It's actually kind of about us," Parker says quietly, gripping my palm tighter.

- I'm listening," I repeat my own words softly.

Delia sighs.

- Remember Cain mentioned my recent acquaintance with the Black Widow?

- Yeah, I'm sure the nicknames made it a bit of an encounter, huh? - I'm just kidding because it's a little tense.

It's working, Del's smiling a little.

- True, but that's not really the point," the brown girl goes silent again for a while. - I wasn't really expecting anything special from this meeting, because we had no memories of this girl, I thought it was just a regular patrol plus Cain's Shield partner, your friend.

- So," I pushed my sister a little faster, because she was silent again, deep in her own thoughts.

- Our brother landed on the roof, business as usual, but then," Delia swallowed a little, "then she showed up.

- The Black Widow?

- Yes," Del nodded quickly and raised her confused brown eyes to me. - And she was beautiful, Peter. The grace in her every movement, the confident look in her blue eyes, and that red hair with the slight curls....

And as soon as I realised with what tenderness, confusion and a rudiment of love Delia was saying these words, I could not restrain myself and laughed out loud.

For which I received a fist in the stomach, which was natural and also very tangible.

- You think that's funny?! - Parker stared at me angrily.

- No, no," I cleared my throat and tried to return my face to a serious expression, "not at all.

But I can't, and after a few seconds, I'm laughing again.

- Peter, stop it!

The girl's slender fist, soaked with non-human strength, came at me again, but I intercepted it.

- Okay, okay, stop hitting me.

In response, the brown girl just snatches her hand away and jumps up off the couch.

- Why are you messing with me?!

Wow, it looks like what happened has really messed Delia up, she's really on the verge of hysterics now, tears in her eyes.

- Del, I'm sorry," I raise my palms, "please sit down and we'll talk it over.

The calm tone works, and my twin returns to the couch, a little wrinkled.

But she doesn't stop sobbing.

- Peter, what's wrong with me? - quietly clarifies the sobbing brown girl.

- It's simple, sister, - I put my foot on my leg, - you're in love.

- What?!" Del exclaims.

- At least that's the assumption that follows from your spirited descriptions of Natasha," I continue my spatial musings.

- But.... but what about it? I love you," the brown-eyed girl says with conviction.

- Yes, that's right, and I love you, but, in fact, what was between us then, that sex, it wasn't love, certainly not platonic and familial, and not what binds two people together. It was passion, Del, animal passion, or, if it makes you feel better, the insect-arachnoid passion of our spider selves.

- What?" a confused Delia asked the only valid question.

- Actually, I began to suspect it when I learnt about your pheromones," I began to explain. - Then, after studying the Jackal's data, my suspicions only grew stronger, and your emotionless confession that night only confirmed everything. You see, sister, your statement that you were not attracted to any man or woman but me was, to put it mildly, exaggerated. At that moment, you were simply being pressurised by your breeding instinct, previously carefully suppressed but fed by the information about MJ's pregnancy.

- Procreative instinct?

- To put it simply, your spider essence was searching for a mate, and since I and Cain and Ben were the only suitable species subjects, I was the ideal male, and that's why you were behaving the way you did," I shared my hypothesis with Del, which I'd come to back at the HYDRA base one evening when I had nothing to do.

- So you mean....

- After coitus, as it is supposed to be in the wild, your instincts quieted down, making sure that a suitable sexual partner for reproduction was found and was nearby," I looked at my sister with a wry smile, "in fact, we were lucky you didn't get pregnant.

- Yeah, that would have been a lot of fun," Del said dully.

- Yeah, but it was to be expected, I just wasn't around to check for sure, HYDRA be damned. But, every day after we had sex, your desire got lower, didn't it, the one that looks a lot like an obsession with me?

The brown-haired girl shoots me a lightning-fast glare, and I raise my palms again in a peaceful gesture.

- If you have a better, gentler definition, I'm open to it.

In response, the brown-eyed girl only exhales tiredly.

- No, in principle, you described everything correctly. But why Natasha?

- It's also simple, - I again take a relaxed pose, - despite the fact that the jackal has changed the Y-chromosome to the second X, and also pheromones poured this matter, you are still a derivative of the original male organism, specifically mine, so, the attraction to the female sex, from your side, I am not surprised.

- So if you were gay, I'd be originally attracted to guys? - Parker's snarky.

- Only it would be harder for you to fuck me to stop the DADA," I snicker back.

- Wow," the brown-haired girl says.

- Right, when science, mysticism, and a third substance called chozanach meet, it's hard to digest everything," I slap Delia's thigh and get up from the couch. - Think it over, sis, or better yet, leave it for tomorrow, the morning is wiser," I yawn a little, "good night.
