Chapter 1390: Mysterious Energy
Chapter 1390: Mysterious Energy
Even though they didn’t have concrete evidence, Shang Xia was sure that they had passed through the gap in the Star Curtain just a moment ago!
The Spirit Ark continued to travel through the relatively calm belt, and the powerful intent that was contained in the Star Curtain descended, causing everyone to fall into a state of stupor and start to cultivate.
It wasn’t exactly a good thing. Shang Xia could tell once he was awakened by the Crimson Soul Tablet. The strange intent that swept over the ship was very powerful. Even Shang Xia’s Six Direction Qi could barely assimilate it into his body.
The others might be unable to extricate themselves from the feeling of their cultivation soaring, but that was actually a mere illusion. If they lost themselves in it, the strange energy that allowed them to grow rapidly would turn on them, transforming them into something similar and becoming a part of the strange energy.
Only after feeling the energy in his dantian and receiving the warning from the Crimson Soul Tablet did Shang Xia realize how dangerous the entire situation was.
He managed to awaken because of the superior quality of his Six Direction Qi, and the moment he did, he no longer absorbed the strange energy. Perhaps it was because not too much energy had entered his body, but the moment he stopped absorbing more, the small amount that remained in him was quickly assimilated by his dantian into usable energy for himself, allowing his cultivation to really take a step forward.
Shang Xia couldn’t care about interrupting the others from their state of ‘cultivation’. He could care less about exposing the Crimson Soul Tablet either as a giant phantom appeared above the ship. He reached out to Song Zhen and Yan Ming who were the closest to him and yelled, “Wake up!”
He infused his Six Direction Qi into his voice and a powerful soundwave spread through the Spirit Ark. It rippled through the ship, causing those who hadn’t reached the Martial Dipper Realm to faint instantly. Those in the Martial Dipper Realm slowly awakened and they stared at each other in a state of confusion. They clearly didn’t realize what had happened.
The only people who experienced different reactions were Yan Ming and Song Zhen. Yan Ming’s eyes snapped open and rage overwhelmed her as she felt that her state of enlightenment had been broken. She glared at Shang Xia, and if anyone else was in her place, they might have been blinded by their anger and rushed at him. However, she knew that Shang Xia wouldn’t interrupt her cultivation for nothing and she quickly regained her composure. Of course, she still stared at him, waiting for an explanation.
Song Zhen’s brows were locked together. He was a True Immortal at the end of the day and despite Shang Xia’s yell, he wasn’t willing to awaken from the mystical state.
Helpless, Shang Xia slapped out several hand seals, and the restriction in Song Zhen’s dantian activated. It sealed off the qi flowing in his body, forcing Song Zhen to awaken.
“Shang... Lord... What is the matter?” Song Zhen frowned.
Even though his cultivation was the highest among the rest and he was in a much deeper state of concentration earlier, he awakened quickly and composed himself.
Despite his reaction, a trace of worry flashed through Shang Xia’s eyes when he looked at Song Zhen.
It wasn’t a good sign when Song Zhen didn’t awaken earlier when he was called. That meant that he was obsessed with his path of cultivation. It was likely he would be more extreme when cultivating in the future and his risk of experiencing cultivation deviation would be higher.
From his reaction, Shang Xia could tell that Song Zhen hadn’t noticed the problem in his body.
Giving him a profound glance, Shang Xia looked at Yan Ming and the other cultivators on board. He explained while maintaining a solemn expression, “Don’t you think that there’s something strange for everyone to experience a sudden rise in cultivation? Check the condition of your inner qi right now. Make sure to pay special attention to your origin source in your dantian.”
With his reminder, everyone started to inspect themselves. Even Song Zhen sat down to circulate his energy with a suspicious look on his face.
A Martial Dipper Realm expert from the institution yelled suddenly, “What is this?! A quarter of the energy in my dantian has been contaminated!”
“Same!”
“Me as well. What is this strange energy? Why do I feel like it’s extremely dangerous, but I can still control it like it's my own energy? It’s like... It’s like the danger isn’t there at all.”
“If the mysterious energy doesn’t pose any danger, my cultivation will be able to rise a lot! It will save me 3 months' worth of time!”
“...”
Everyone started to discuss among each other and tried to figure out what the mysterious energy was.
Yan Ming didn’t join them. After discovering the foreign energy in her dantian, she turned to look at Shang Xia for an explanation.
As for Song Zhen, his expression was even uglier than before. He was a True Immortal and was much more knowledgeable than the Martial Dipper Realm cultivators of the institution. He knew how dangerous it actually was. Fear lingered in his heart and he looked at Shang Xia with a tinge of embarrassment and gratefulness.
Coughing softly once, Shang Xia was about to explain what happened when the Spirit Ark shook violently. Several Martial Dipper Realm cultivators failed to keep their footing and fell, and several Martial Extermination Realm cultivators who had fainted earlier rolled about the ship.
Shang Xia’s expression changed slightly and he seemed to have discovered something. He arrived above the ship and got rid of the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet.
Song Zhen might have reacted a little slower, but he quickly looked into the void only to see a massive shadow disappearing above the ship.
He couldn’t care what relationship the strange shadow had with Shang Xia. He stared deeper into the void and discovered a powerful current they were quickly approaching.
“Quick!” Song Zhen yelled at the Martial Dipper Realm cultivators still stuck in a state of shock and he started to control the ship that was tumbling through the chaotic streams. The next moment, they were caught in the powerful streams and were tossed about relentlessly.
The Spirit Ark was like a melon seed that was shot out from the mouth of a giant as they flew forward with terrifying speed.
Shang Xia also managed to hide in the protection barrier of the Spirit Ark right before it was shot out, right after he retrieved the projection of the Crimson Soul Tablet.
