Chapter 1 Bloody Mary.
Mia stood outside the bathroom door.
The snorts and giggles of her friends echoed down the hall, taunting her for losing the bet. “It’s just a silly game,” they said, but a gnawing fear gripped her. They wanted her to summon Bloody Mary, and she had no choice but to comply.
Mia exhaled deeply she pushed the door open. The bathroom had the essential things near the sink, Candles and a lighter.
When she tried to lit up a candle a raspy whisper behind her was heard.
”Mia”
Spooked Mia looked at the door and she heard her friends giggle.
“Stop it! or I’m going home ” Mia said. And the giggles lowered.
Mia felt the chill in the air, “Just a game, just a game, “ she repeated to herself, stepping inside.
She set the candles on the sink, their flames trembling as she lit them one by one. “Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary,” she chanted, her voice wavering. The temperature dropped even lower, and she shivered as a sense of dread washed over her. The mirror fogged up, swirling patterns obscuring her reflection.
Mia hesitated, her courage faltering. But before she could back out, the bathroom door creaked open, and the shower curtain fluttered. A figure emerged, tall and ethereal, his skin pale and his eyes bright like the moon.
“You tried to summon Bloody Mary, right?” he asked, a cheerful grin splitting his face.
Mia nodded, frozen in fear. “Who are you?”
“I’m Bloody Larry, the friendly spirit! I’m here to warn you not to summon her. I’ll hold her off as long as I can, but you need to get out of this bathroom!” His voice turned serious, eyes narrowing. “Wear a necklace made of rosemary to keep her away. No buts! You need to run!”
Mia didn’t need to be told twice. She dashed past Larry, screaming as she burst out of the bathroom. Her friends erupted in laughter, assuming she was spooked by her own shadow. But just then, the air shifted; the temperature plummeted.
From behind the bathroom door, a voice like thunder growled, “Who summoned me?”
The faucets began to run, water gushing out and turning crimson, pooling like blood in the sink. The laughter faded, replaced by screams.
