Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Darkness Within
Kieran Skywalker sat in quiet contemplation on the edge of the swamp, his eyes closed as he meditated in the dense, humid air of Dagobah. The Force around him thrummed like the pulse of a distant heart, and the flames of the Phoenix burned bright within him, searing through the very fiber of his being. Yet it was the dark whispers that had become louder, clearer—Sith teachings that resonated deep within his soul. The ancient voices of the Sith Lords spoke to him, their knowledge more tempting with each passing day.
He had been studying under Yoda for several years, learning the ways of the Jedi. But Yoda's teachings felt incomplete. Kieran could feel that there was more to the Force—more than the Jedi cared to acknowledge. In the depths of his meditations, he began to unearth the dark powers buried within him, powers that had been passed down through his lineage. Powers that called to him in ways the Jedi could not.
Darth Nihilus's voice was the loudest, the most commanding. "The Force is not balanced, young Skywalker. It is a weapon to be wielded, not a discipline to follow blindly." The voice was cold, hollow, but full of wisdom—a wisdom born from millennia of conquest.
Kieran felt a surge of power as his training intensified. With every passing day, he discovered more abilities that were foreign to the Jedi but instinctive to him. Force Drain. He could pull the very life energy from living beings, leaving them as husks, devoid of will or vitality. Force Destruction. With a single gesture, he could obliterate objects, shattering them into pieces, reducing them to nothingness. And then there was the most dangerous ability of all—the power to consume the Force itself. Kieran felt the dark pull of Nihilus's teachings, and it was all he could do to keep from losing himself to the hunger that beckoned.
But it wasn't just Nihilus that spoke to him. Darth Revan's voice echoed through the depths of his mind, urging him to embrace the duality within himself. "To be whole, you must acknowledge both the light and the dark, Skywalker. The Jedi will never teach you the true power of the Force, but I will. Become the master of both sides, and the galaxy will be yours to command."
In secret, Kieran practiced these forbidden abilities, honing them with precision. He was powerful, but he knew his powers were not yet fully realized. He needed more—more knowledge, more experience, more mastery.
One day, Yoda called him. "A mission, Skywalker, I have for you," the wise old Jedi said. "Travel with me, we must, to the planet of Valtor. Dangerous, it is—yet necessary, it is. The Force, it calls us there."
Kieran stood, brushing dirt from his tunic as he prepared for the journey. The mysterious planet Valtor lay on the edge of the galaxy, a place where the fabric of the Force was thin, its dark energies strong. Kieran's curiosity surged, but something darker lingered in his heart. He knew that whatever awaited him on Valtor, it would not be simple.
As they travelled through hyperspace, Kieran could feel the tension building inside him. The power of the Sith flowed through him like a river, and the Phoenix Force crackled beneath his skin, urging him toward greater chaos. But he knew that if he gave in fully, he might never return from the abyss.
Upon arriving, Yoda's senses tingled. "Something… wrong, this place feels," he muttered, his large ears twitching. "Dangerous, the dark side is here, strong it is."
Before they could investigate further, the sky above them turned black—utterly devoid of light. A presence, cold and malevolent, swept through the air, like a dark fog suffocating all around. From the depths of the planet's atmosphere, a creature emerged—its form tall, hulking, and covered in shadows. A being from beyond the stars.
"Knull," Kieran whispered, feeling the immense power of the ancient entity. The cosmic god of the symbiotes, an entity so terrifying that even the gods feared his presence. He had come to Valtor, drawn by the Force, drawn by Kieran himself.
Yoda's eyes narrowed. "A danger like no other, this creature is. Face him, we must."
Without warning, Knull descended from the sky, his massive form landing with a shockwave that shook the very foundations of the planet. The stars themselves seemed to flicker, dimming as if the light of the universe was retreating from the oncoming darkness.
"You are the Chosen One, the one who walks between light and dark," Knull's voice echoed, a deep, guttural growl that reverberated through the ground. "I have come to test you, Skywalker. To see if you are truly worthy of your power."
Kieran's heart raced as he ignited his lightsaber, the Permafrost Kyber Crystal humming with a chilling energy. Yoda raised his cane, preparing to engage in battle. But Kieran knew this fight would not be an ordinary one. This would not be a fight of just the Force or simple lightsaber skills. This was a battle of cosmic proportions, a battle where the very planet itself would feel the impact of their struggle.
Knull roared and struck, his massive form moving with an otherworldly speed. Tendrils of darkness lashed out, but Kieran blocked them with his lightsaber. The energy of the Permafrost crystal met the force of Knull's power, sending shockwaves through the planet, splitting the ground beneath them.
The two forces collided—Phoenix and Force against the primordial darkness. Kieran summoned the power of the Reality Stone, shifting the very fabric of reality around him. He hurled the power of the Force at Knull, but the symbiote god laughed, his form shifting, adapting, as if he were one with the universe's darkness itself.
"Is this all?" Knull mocked, his voice a wave of pure malice. He unleashed a blast of darkness that shattered the stars above, ripping apart the sky itself. The planet trembled, the atmosphere crackling with the raw energy of their conflict.
Yoda, sensing the danger, called upon his full strength, using the Force to create barriers of light and deflect Knull's deadly strikes. But Kieran could feel the Phoenix within him screaming for release, the temptation to give in to the full power of the darkness almost overwhelming.
With a fierce cry, Kieran unleashed the full potential of his being. The Phoenix Force surged within him, filling him with heat and fury, while the dark side of the Force twisted and distorted reality itself. He reached out, pulling at the very core of Knull's existence, drawing on the knowledge of the Sith Lords that had taken root inside him. He could feel their power, their essence, coursing through him as he reached for Knull's soul, draining him of his dark energy.
The ground shattered beneath them, and the planet itself began to crack. The stars blinked out, leaving only the black void of space to witness the cataclysmic battle. The power unleashed was so immense that the fabric of reality itself began to warp and tear.
Finally, with a triumphant roar, Kieran focused all his power into a single, devastating blow. The force of the Phoenix and the dark side of the Force combined, overwhelming Knull and banishing the ancient symbiote god back into the void from which he came.
Breathing heavily, Kieran stood, his body trembling from the immense power he had just wielded. The stars returned to their place in the sky, and the planet stopped its violent shaking. But Kieran knew this battle was only the beginning.
He had come face to face with darkness unlike any he had ever known, and he had tapped into powers that could tear the universe apart. The questions now were clear: Could he keep the balance, or would he succumb to the power within him? Could he walk the line between light and dark, or would the darkness claim him, as it had claimed so many before?
The path ahead would be fraught with danger, but Kieran knew one thing: his journey had only just begun.
