Chapter 56: Stella Vs. Carter— 1
Note: I have uploaded an announcement before, but I deleted it. I decided I should keep the genre of the fanfiction as it was before. Instead, I decided that I should decrease its frequency. Although, should I?
THIRD POV—
Stella ran towards Carter. She wanted to attack her opponent first. The person in in front of her was a super soldier like herself. She wanted to have an upper hand on Carter. She tried to punch her face but, it was blocked her. Instead, Carter landed a swift punch in her face, sending her a few metres back. But it didn't deter Stella's plan a bit. She threw the base at her, which was on the table and tried to tackle her down.
Carter dodged the base, only for her to be tackled down.
Stella started punching her in the face. But she was pushed away by Carter.
Quickly maintaining her balance, she jumped back on Carter's back and wrapped her arms around her neck. She knew she had to finish this fight quickly. Holding back would get her killed this time.
Carter was frustrated. She never expected Stella to fight this seriously. Normally, she would fight holding back. Her fighting style had also changed. She was fighting dirty. She started to slowly pull away Stella's hands from her neck.
Stella tried to apply more force. While that worked many times in past, it didn't work this time.
Carter separated her hands, and hit her with back of her head, breaking Stella's nose.
Stella fell on the ground and clutch her nose. Carter took hold of legs and threw her across the room. She rushed towards her
Stella fell on the ground and clutch her nose. Carter took hold of legs and threw her across the room. She rushed towards her and tried kicking her.
When Stella saw her running towards her to attack, she didn't get up from the ground and waited for her attack. Just as Carter reached to kick her, Stella stabbed her in the leg, and hauled her other leg.
Carter fell on the ground with a happy thud. Stella got on top her and tried stabbed, but this time in the head.
Carter used her two hands to block Stella's attack.
Stella increased applying force and used the other hand to hit the handle's back. The more she hit that spot, the more the distance lessened between Carter and the knife.
When Stella hit the knife's end, the knife just nicked Carter's cheek. A small sliver of blood was released. Just as she was about to do that again, Carter hit Stella's back of the head with her right leg, which caused her to misplace the attack.
Carter snatched the knife from Stella's hand and was about to stab her. Stella blocked the attack and slashed Carter's face with a broken piece of vase, which was near her feet.
Experiencing another cut on her face, Carter was shocked. That caused her hold to slacken. Seeing her hold was weak, Stella kicked the knife away from her hand.
Stella wanted to have some answers from Carter. She asked, "Did you ever like me?"
Carter sneered, "What this have to do with this situation?"
"Tell me."
"Do you believe that you are entitled to every answer of your question?"
Stella shook her head. She said, "No. I just want to know your thought process." While she was asking those questions; her main motive was to stall time for her to come up with a plan with.
Carter knew that she did once love Stella. When she just joined the army as a cadet, she was like an innocent flower waiting to have its nectar sucked out from it. At first, she was angered that the person she liked was not a man. He was a she. But she thought maybe it was for the best. While at that time same-sex relationships were frowned upon, she thought that she could keep it under wraps. She could not only maintain her career but also, could focus on love. It was a good plan yet; it turned out to be futile.
At that time, Stella refused her and she was not able to do anything, she sometimes touched her here and there, and even harassed her a bit. According to Carter, it wasn't much. But that was in the past. Now, she had no feelings for her. She thought that Stella was beneath her. She believed that she was better than her.
Having enough, Carter took out the shield from her back. She said, "Like I said, it didn't matter."
Stella's eyes hardened. Her eyes were depicting that this time, the fight would be more serious. One mistake, and she would be sent into the arms of death.
