Stellaris Tech Tree HSR

Chapter 2: Is Unlocking the Stellaris Tech Tree in Star Rail Really Okay? [2]

Inside a room with metallic walls, Chen Lin crouched in a corner after dealing with pressing biological needs, trying to piece together the events that had just unfolded. Finally, he arrived at a reasonable conclusion.

He had transmigrated—straight from the bathroom of his humble apartment, accomplishing something most modern humans could only fantasize about!

As for where he was now, Chen Lin had no idea.

The room was surrounded by metallic walls, and the doors were equipped with motion sensors that opened automatically when he approached. Everything exuded an overwhelming sense of advanced technology.

Chen Lin couldn't shake the feeling that he might have ended up somewhere truly extraordinary.

"How am I supposed to get back home…"

Leaning against the wall, Chen Lin glanced at the unconscious girl lying nearby, looking deeply troubled.

He wasn't some unattached wanderer—he had parents and a younger sister back home. On top of that, he had a job to maintain.

And the most critical thing?

In two days, it'll be payday!

He'd been working overtime for months to save up for a better computer—something to make gaming sessions with his friends more enjoyable.

How the hell did I end up transmigrating?!

Scooting closer to the girl lying on the ground, Chen Lin lightly tapped her cold, jelly-like cheek with the back of his hand.

"Hey, you alive? If so, give me a sign."

His voice was soft, but the girl didn't respond. Fortunately, a quick check of her pulse and breathing revealed she was simply unconscious.

Letting out a sigh, Chen Lin sat back down, his expression sour as he examined the bruise on his stomach.

"She really didn't hold back… but I guess getting startled like that must've scared her."

Shaking his head, he stood up and crept toward the door, stopping at its side. Carefully, he peeked out into the corridor beyond.

Outside was a long, enclosed hallway, with potted plants placed at one corner. The vibrant greenery added a touch of life to the otherwise cold, steel environment.

Unfortunately, a few peculiar figures were wandering at the far end of the hallway.

One of them floated midair, its body fully encased in armor. Below its arms were twin golden blades, gleaming ominously under the corridor lights.

Chen Lin stared in awe for a few seconds.

What kind of card art is this? Which game is it from? I've never seen this before!

Beside it floated a glowing blue orb. Even from a distance, Chen Lin felt an inexplicable sense of dread.

That thing definitely isn't friendly.

Remembering the mysterious woman's instructions to wait here for someone to find him, Chen Lin decided against drawing attention to himself.

If those creatures attacked, he'd be helpless. As a frail researcher without weapons, he wouldn't stand a chance.

He still needed to find a way home. Curiosity wasn't worth dying for.

Just as he pulled his head back, a familiar tune reached his ears.

"Wait… Creative Ascendance?"

Chen Lin froze in place, dumbfounded.

Before he could process what was happening, his vision suddenly blurred, colors distorting as if something new had overlaid his field of view.

When the distortion cleared, he realized what he was looking at.

[Intelligence Logs], [Government], [Society Management], [Technology], [Leaders], [Species], [Planets and Systems], [Fleet Management], [Communications]...

[Energy: 100], [Minerals: 100], [Alloys: 100]...

This… isn't this the Stellaris interface?!

The starting resources were exactly the same as those in the game—100 units each.

Chen Lin's face filled with disbelief.

His hand hovered in midair as he hesitated, unsure of what to do. Finally, he selected the [Intelligence Logs] tab, only to be greeted with a single entry:

No records.

He navigated to the [Government] tab and found that no government had been established. The [Leaders] section displayed only his own portrait, hanging there alone.

Following the options down the list, he finally clicked on [Technology], and a flood of notifications burst onto the screen like a tidal wave:

[Acquired Starting Technologies: 'Scientific Method,' 'Fission Energy,' 'Reactor Boosters,' 'Deflector Shields,' 'Red Laser Emitters,' 'Planetary Defense,' 'Interstellar Trade,' 'Agricultural Industrialization'...]

Chen Lin's hand froze midair as he read the messages. Bloodshot veins crept across his eyes, his dry lips parted, and his pupils dilated in shock.

Countless pieces of knowledge—physics, computer science, sociology, and engineering—poured into his mind like a roaring tsunami. His thoughts went blank as his brain overloaded!

The sheer volume of information threatened to shatter his sanity. Just as it felt unbearable, a sudden clarity washed over him.

It was as if a blockage in his mind had been cleared, allowing him to process the influx of data. The excruciating pain subsided.

[Select Your Origin.]

"Holy—!"

Barely recovered from the deluge, Chen Lin was elated.

As he reviewed the vast array of knowledge now stored in his mind, he realized just how little he had known before.

He now understood what had happened—he had a cheat code.

Somehow, he had brought Stellaris with him when he transmigrated!

For those unfamiliar, Stellaris was a space strategy game filled with love and peace—or at least that was the tagline. Players controlled a faction, gradually developing it while "opening doors" and "engaging in free trade" with alien civilizations, unlocking increasingly advanced technologies along the way.

Megastructures provided empires with vast resources, while titanic ships and colossi gave players overwhelming diplomatic leverage—peacefully enlightening alien species into cultural harmony… or converting them into minerals and energy.

Chen Lin's eyes widened in realization.

There was no need to consider the potential future technologies he might unlock—just the knowledge currently in his mind was enough to revolutionize his original world.

In my old world, we couldn't even launch materials into space efficiently, let alone build colossal space stations!

In that moment, Chen Lin's perspective expanded. He began to wonder what alien-made canned goods might taste like…

"Origins? Let's see what my options are."

Calming his excitement, Chen Lin opened the origin selection menu. Upon seeing dozens of choices, he eagerly began to review them.
