Chapter 258: First Stop
The following day.
The rest of the crew had already moved out after a short and quick breakfast, leaving Leo by himself at the hangar, who was also preparing his things before moving out by himself.
While Leo was just making his way out of the hangar, the rest of the group had already reached their first destination.
The Pelican slowly landed beside a large building, and it was a place very familiar to most of the members as it was once the hideout of Bella's group before they joined Leo's pirate ship.
"I didn't think that we'd come back here again after we decided to leave this place a few days ago," Bella said as she disembarked from the aircraft.
Darius who was walking beside her replied, "Yeah, and it feels kind of weird coming back here again"
There was some chatter among the few, but there's also some who were wearing serious looks on their faces as they followed basic protocol as they immediately started looking around their surroundings after stepping out from the aircraft, making sure that there were no immediate threats around them that could potentially threaten their group.
But the moment Alex came up from behind as he walked past them and stood before their eyes, all of them quickly shut their mouths and looked forwards.
Alex looked at them one by one, and it made the people being looked at, nervous under his stern gaze.
One of them even thought, 'It would have been better if the one leading us today is Boss Leo, Sir Alex is too serious and scary'
After a few seconds, Alex finally opened his mouth and said, "We won't be hunting zombies this time, as I have been instructed to collect supplies for the construction of the island base, and that's what we're here for"
Then he stopped and gazed at every person before him with a stern and heated gaze and continued, "What are you guys waiting for? Get your ass moving!"
Lin and the others quickly moved, while the others were still stunned silly before they quickly followed after the rest with their heads lowered as they ran past Alex, and only then did they dare to look up ahead of them.
Alex then just stayed there and gazed in the distance like he can actually see anything that far away.
It didn't take that long before others started coming back with things in their hands, especially when some of them are already familiar with the ins and outs of the place, which made it relatively easier and safer for the rest of the group to scour around the place.
Meanwhile, Leo had just arrived at his first destination.
It was a local bank called Bank of Hawaii.
He looked around, then he slowly bent down and picked up a dollar bill lying on the ground and mumbled, "I'm probably the only person in the world who still cares about these useless things"
Leo laughed as he threw the dollar bill inside his [Inventory], and slowly made his way inside the building with a rifle in hand.
Just as he had already expected, there were no zombies inside at all.
Already expecting for things to turn out like this, Leo just casually strolled inside while dancing into an unknown beat inside his head.
"Because I'm bad, I'm bad, Come on~! Humm, humm…"
While dancing to that beat, Leo arrived before the vault and immediately wore his Powered Assault Armor.
Leo didn't use anything fancy on opening the vault, and instead opted for the old fashion way.
Using brute strength!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Leo rained punches on the metallic door, and every punch of his left large dents on its surface until it slowly became deformed when it finally reached its limit.
It only took Leo less than a minute before a large hole was made through the metallic door, just enough for a person to get through.
Inside, Leo saw a couple of large stacks of cash just lying around the room, and he didn't hesitate to quickly walk over to them and stored them inside his [Inventory].
He looked around the place, making sure that he didn't leave anything noteworthy behind, and only then did he make his way outside after making sure that everything is a okay.
With one bank down, Leo then leisurely made his way towards his next destination.
He didn't bring any vehicle, he just walked as he casually swept through the establishments along the way.
Sadly, there's barely any supplies inside those businesses, probably already been cleaned out by other survivors living around the area.
And while he was inside a 7/11 store, Leo noticed a few figures approaching his direction through his mini map.
"Survivors?" He mumbled when he saw a group of yellow dots flashing on the map.
He just frowned and walked out of the store with an annoyed look on his face along with a chocolate bar hanging from his mouth.
And he saw a group of survivors cautiously walking through the streets, and just as he was about to yell at them, his words suddenly got stuck in his throat when the group of survivors suddenly started running away the moment they saw him.
"What the heck? Am I that scary?" Leo mumbled in bewilderment while touching every nook and cranny of his face.
He just shook his head with a tilt before he went back inside, ignoring those people watching him afar.
Leo knew that they didn't run that far away and are watching the store he's at from afar.
But he didn't care.
In fact, he'd welcome them with open arms if they stupidly decide to suddenly want to mess with him.
"I just hope they won't. After all, they just look like they are kids" Leo mumbled while taking lootable things from the shelves of the store while mumbling to himself.
Meanwhile, on another street corner.
A group of survivors are cautiously watching the store where Leo is currently at while talking to each other in hushed tones.
"Why are we hiding? Isn't he just one man?" said one of them.
The oldest among them, who had probably just graduated from his teenage years, looked at that person who was talking just now and said with a serious tone, "So what? We don't even know if he's alone or not, and if we just stupidly go there, and they turn out to be child traffickers, then we'd be doomed. We barely have weapons that could protect us, we're already lucky that we even made it this far"
"So are you suggesting that we wait it out?" said another.
The oldest just shook his head and replied, "No, there's a lot of places that also has a lot of food. Let's head there first before we come back here and hopefully he leaves some for us"
Seeing that the group of survivors are moving away from his direction, Leo couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
'Good thing, someone among them is sensible enough'
He made a mental note to look for them later after he was done with his second bank, and his actions didn't even stop for even a moment as he just continued piling up most of the remaining food inside the store while he decided to leave the rest he didn;t take for the other survivors to have.
