Stuck as a Villain!

Chapter 123: Breaking the limit~2!

Chapter 123: Breaking the limit~2!

[Ciel's POV:]

President is strong...

Even though I have seen the President handling those goons before, I was having a hard time digesting the scene I have witnessed just now.

Kevin was by no means a weak candidate who participated in the selection process and truth be told even I would have found it difficult to face him head-on.

Apart from his intimidating build which was on par with my father, Kevin was not a novice tank who knew nothing but to throw punches and kicks with brute strength. He knew his strength and his opponent's weaknesses.

To use his attribute to create vision blockage to save himself from getting knocked by President's mind interference attacks...indeed I was impressed.

Majorly people like him believe nothing but prideful battles where hiding and plotting could go and burn, for a single worth they do not care. But Kevin actually utilized his skills and despite being scorned by people from the audience, he didn't falter in his movements before he went for a tactical attack on President.

On the other hand, I have never seen President Seth this careless and nonchalant before. Was it a sign of arrogance and overconfidence since having eyes closed during a battle was nothing but asking to get hurt in one way or another? On a true battlefield, such a gesture could cost one's life.

Serena and Anabelle were tensed as well, with the latter prepared to jump into action any moment now. I was prepared to stop Anabelle if she tries to interfere where she shouldn't but that chance never arrived since once Kevin launched his attack on President Seth he was met by an invisible wall which undoubtedly was created by President's psychokinesis.

And that was not all, since as soon Kevin jumped back after having a solid ten seconds struggle right in mid-air, President moved like a wind whose movements I was barely able to follow before he appeared beside Kevin who was still in a state of panic.

"When...he got there...?"

Serena asked absentmindedly as it seems she was as astonished as I was. On the other hand, Anabelle had a smug look on her face with her arm crossed under her chest.

Seriously girl? You are boasting, for real?

My attention was pulled away from my best friend since the thunderous sound reverberated profoundly from the inside of the barrier before I saw Kevin being thrown backward with his back-breaking several mud walls in the process.

That was...no skill but just President's Seth sheer strength?!

The heck with the logic that mages tend to be physically weak?! Is even the rule any more applicable to this guy who has always made me rethink my evaluation of him?

A bulky seven feet man was blown away with just a single tightly packed punch by a guy who was so lean and gentlemanly by his looks that on days I believe I could beat him in arm wrestling.

But this...

"What is that...!!"

"That energy!"

Every sense I possess went on alert when I along with my two companions sensed something altering in real time in the arena. A surge of massive soul energy condensed at a single point and radiated aggressively from the man who previously knelt on the floor with his every hope falling to get through this selection phase.

"President is in danger..."

I muttered under my breath as I saw the already hulking size of Kevin expanding even more with heat waves steaming out from each of his veins. But before I or the referee could have moved to stop Kevin from committing some irreversible blunder, the boulder-sized Kevin lunged forward at the same pace Seth moved previously but unlike the latter, Kevin had his intention fixated on claiming his opponent's life.

Neither my blade nor the backup artifact around the ring could have reacted that fast which meant President was in grave danger.

But...

***DHAAAAAKK***

"Eh?" That exclamation left my lips just upon witnessing how President blocked the incoming assault with just his bare hand without sliding backward an inch.

The hand which stopped Kevin's attack had its sleeves torn and probably internal damage has already been inflicted on Seth but the guy still looked so calm and unchanged that I had a hard time looking away from him.

"Let me go!! I will murder that Gorilla!"

Serena was somehow holding Anabelle with all her might but I knew it wouldn't be enough so I went to help, without my eyes leaving the arena even for a bit.

'When the heck you created a gap this big between us President... '

[Seth's POV:]

It hurts.

It's been a while since I have felt so alive and naturally enjoying a fight. Those goons of the underworld were nothing and the shadow soldiers never spar with me as per my mother's strict orders.

So this guy who was in a mood of nothing but slaughter was perfect to go with my needs for a good fight.

My sleeve was torn and so were some muscles but this pain reminded me of some of the nostalgic memory which made me smile a bit before I pushed Kevin away with the same arm I was using to hold him.

He slid slightly back, his retina-less eyes fiercely glaring at me, and the growl never leaving his throat. The animal once again lunged at me with his legs leaving a crack at the spot where he stood a millisecond ago.

I tilted my upper body to the right to dodge the claw he threw toward my neck before I took hold of his offered hand and elbowed his chest with a powerful blow.

"Akh!"

Letting go of his hand I saw Kevin sliding back a little once again, proving my theory regarding the enhancement of my strength.

This time before the beast could have attacked me, I took the role of aggressor, and just a meter away from him, I twirled to load a full-blown roundhouse kick that could tear away the jaw of a low-ranking warrior.

My kick was flawless as always, but it got caught before my attack could have met my target. And the disadvantage of using a heavy attack, I left myself wide open.

"Khak!"

Kevin not only held my ankle with a grip that nearly crunched my bones but he took me by my collar and like a dusted rag threw me onto the ground while exerting decent strength.

In that slight movement, I felt slightly dizzy since his attacks were brutal and my body was not internally strong to withhold so many consecutive blows.

Before he could have locked me between his thighs and began punching the shit out of my face, I used my legs to lock Kevin's neck to choke him but the monster just picked me up like that in the still-locked position before planting me back in the ground with full force.

**DHAK**

Again he picked me up and hammered me back to the ground.

***DHAK***

And again.

***DHAK***

"Enough."

One word and Kevin had no other option than to let me go since his body must have felt more than three thousand kilograms over his shoulders just now.

I slowly rose to my feet as I saw Kevin having a difficult time not getting his body plastered against the floor as a cobweb-like crate began forming under his feet.

That was not my full force of psychokinesis but it was enough to make him stop his barrage of assaults.

Since I already got a self-evaluation of where I stood in front of a true combatant, I decided it was time to act like what I was and finish this match as a bonafide mage.

"Lull."

A surge of greenish-blue energy surged out of my body before it hit Kevin, returning his consciousness after a brief three seconds. The mind-numbing sensation was enough to knock some senses in him but I was not done here.

A berserker would only get strong as much as you hit them so I first get rid of his skill and removed the groundbreaking boulder over his shoulder since a normal Kevin would die within seconds under that pressure.

His mind must be wobbling and his body spasming in pain but before he could surrender, I raised my left palm which made Kevin levitate slightly before clenching my fist.

"Arghhhh!!!!!"

Both of his arms were broken with that twist and each bone crumbled into dust. He would be repaired soon but to get him to become stronger in the future I need to show him the gap between us and ignite the flame inside him for good.

His screams continued before the referee rushed into the arena and simultaneously I let go of my opponent as well, who by now had foam leaking out his lips and consciousness faded into oblivion.

The referee seemed rather terrified but upon finding my impatient gaze, he raised his arm in my direction before concluding the match.

"S-Seth Albeck, wins!!"
