The five of them shared the food happily without bothering about the differences in social status. Seating along with them also gave Qin Lan a good understanding of the four.

"La - La - La..." Zhou Mei is still having fun in Qin Lan's room after she wakes up. It was an inescapable meeting between the two of them when Hu Jia pushed the door open without the need to knock.

"You're back..." Zhou Mei turned around and greeted Qin Lan with a smile on her face. But to her surprise, it was not him.

A thousand questions ran across the mind of these two women, where their heart was captured by the same culprit living inside this room.

But at the end of the day, Hu Jia was the one affected the most as she kept a strong appearance before this "fox" inside her husband's room. Tears of sadness almost rolled down from the edge of her eyes as she calmly took a step inside the room.

"I - I... No... Miss Hu Jia... I can explain this!" Zhou Mei panicked. Although there was nothing wrong with her appearance and between him with Qin Lan, she still felt flustered, like she has cheated in this battle.

"Hu..." Hu Jia exhaled a breath she's been holding inside her. Although there are more than a thousand questions she wanted to ask, there's only one in her mind that she wishes to clarify before she proceeds.

Her heart palpitated nervously as she bravely stares at Zhou Mei.

"Have you become his woman already?" it was a simple question that able to clarify all the others with a direct answer.

"No! There's nothing between us!" Zhou Mei loudly answered the question without even averting her gaze. The clarity in her eyes makes everything clearer as she stands confidently before Hu Jia.

Like a stone that was lifted off from Hu Jia, she felt that there's no longer a kind of pressure weighing her down. Her leg felt soft immediately as soon as she relaxed the tension that's holding her strong until now.

"Hu Jia!" Zhou Mei immediately hugged her before she collapsed on the floor.

"Let's get to the chair first." Zhou Mei holds her on her waist as the two slowly took a few steps until they're seated by the table.

"I'm sorry. I know that I should leave the room immediately after becoming a bother last night, but I can't help to be curious. If I offended you in any way, please forgive me." Zhou Mei stood beside Hu Jia and gave her a proper bow for those misunderstandings she's causing right now.

"W - Why are you inside my husband's room?" Hu Jia asked. She used the word 'my husband' on purpose to shows Zhou Mei her standing within this room.

'No matter what, I'll have to stay firm on this ground as Qin Lan's legitimate wife!' thought Hu Jia.

"I was tipsy from drinking with him yesterday. Perhaps it was because of that inconvenience Qin Lan allowed me to stay here for the night." Zhou Mei answered. A part of herself wished that she can be at peace with Hu Jia when it came to this.

"You... Had feelings towards him, am I correct? But I'm sure you know that we've married. It was even witnessed by his grandfather and elders." Hu Jia said.

The question by Hu Jia made Zhou Mei stunned on the spot. Although she indeed has a feeling of goodwill towards Qin Lan, she dares not to say it was love.

"I - I don't know..." Zhou Mei hesitates for a moment. But in the end, she answered Hu Jia's question honestly without indicating her honest feeling about Qin Lan.

It might be love, but it might be because she had the urge to "possess" Qin Lan due to his talent.

After competing with each other on their knees for a while, they laughed at their own silliness.

'Maybe she wasn't that bad as I thought...' for the first time, they had the same thought about one another.

Coincidently, Qin Lan came back after they made peace with one another. Pushing the door into his room, Qin Lan finally remembered what he had forgotten.

'I hope they're not fighting with each other due to some misunderstanding..." Qin Lan nervously pushes the door to his room open. In his mind, he's somewhat worried and afraid as Zhou Mei's question yesterday keeps repeating inside his mind.

"I want to listen to what's in your heart. What am I to you? Are you looking at me as a woman?" Zhou Mei asked.

"Why would you even ask me a foolish question like this..." Qin Lan shook his head as he takes a step inside the room. But the next moment, he was shocked as the two of them were struggling on the floor.

"What... What the heck are you two doing on the floor?" Qin Lan's jaw dropped while his mind is preparing for the worst.
