Chapter 200 Demonic Awakening
Chapter 200 Demonic Awakening
Long Tian, Ling Han, and Lin Yan stood amidst the remnants of the burned-down house.
There were no neighbors around since the house was quite distant from any settlement, and the locals knew better than to get involved with the ruthless loan sharks.
Lin Yan's gaze fell on her father, and though her expression remained profoundly sad, there were no more tears streaming down her face.
"Can you help me bury my father?" she asked, looking at Long Tian with hopeful eyes.
"Of course, tell me where I can bury him," Long Tian responded.
"Behind the house, next to my mother's grave," Lin Yan replied.
"Alright," Long Tian nodded, then proceeded to lift Lin Kun's lifeless body.
Together, they walked towards the back of the destroyed house. Here, there were a few banana trees and fertile soil.
On the other side, Ling Han used his powers to dig into the earth and retrieved a piece of broken wood from the wreckage of the house.
Placing Lin Kun's body on the ground, Ling Han positioned the piece of wood at an angle to shield Lin Kun's body from the soil.
This was a burial technique he had learned during his visit to Persia. While Lin Kun should have been wrapped in white cloth, it didn't matter.
The solemn act unfolded amidst the poignant backdrop of destruction, a respectful homage to a life now extinguished.
----------
Now, Lin Kun was fully laid to rest, and only a mound of earth stood as a visible tribute. Lin Yan's countenance held a touch more tranquility. Her gaze fixated on two solemn mounds of soil, marking the resting places of her parents.
Alone in this vast world, she confessed, "I don't know where to go anymore."
Long Tian, upon hearing her words, tenderly ran his fingers through Lin Yan's hair, offering a comforting gesture.
"Since I made a promise to you, I'll secure a place for you to stay," he assured her.
"Really?" Lin Yan questioned, wiping her eyes with a hopeful expression.
"Absolutely. However, you must also uphold your promise—to be my personal pickpocket. Not that I'll instruct you to earn money through pickpocketing, but I'll engage your services in specific situations. Furthermore, I'll support your education if you wish, and you won't have to worry about money or food," Long Tian explained, a gentle smile adorning his face.
In response, Lin Yan fell into a momentary silence, her expression transitioning into one of disbelief. Then, tears once again welled up, and she immediately embraced Long Tian.
"Thank you. Why are you so kind to me?" she asked, her tears finding solace in Long Tian's comforting presence.
"Well, I need to express my gratitude to you because, without your help, I might have missed a great opportunity," Long Tian replied.
His statement wasn't unfounded. Since Lin Yan successfully exchanged the Jade token in Lin Fan's possession with a regular Jade, Long Tian could acquire that ancient book worth billions of Yuan.
Lin Yan, on the other hand, didn't fully grasp the meaning of Long Tian's words, but she continued to seek refuge in his embrace, holding onto him tightly.
"I want to go with you," she declared.
"Then we'll depart from here," Long Tian responded, his smile conveying reassurance.
Lin Yan finally adorned a genuine smile on her face, experiencing a warmth and care she had never known.
-------------
More than 30 minutes had elapsed. Long Tian, Ling Han, and Lin Yan were now in the car, with Lin Yan peacefully sleeping in Long Tian's lap.
They had arrived at the villa area. The gate opened, and Ling Han skillfully maneuvered the car inside.
Long Tian carefully lifted Lin Yan from the car, and coincidentally, Li Yue'er emerged from the door.
"Long Tian, who's this?" she inquired, her eyebrows raised in curiosity.
"Oh, Li Yue'er, it looks like you're getting a little sister," Long Tian replied.
He then entrusted Lin Yan to Li Yue'er. "Would you mind taking her upstairs? I recall there's an empty room on the second floor," he suggested.
"Sure," Li Yue'er replied, lifting Lin Yan and heading inside, making her way to the second floor.
Long Tian smiled as he observed this. Then, his focus returned to his spatial ring, where a book and a blank canvas, both won from the Juntian auction, awaited exploration.
"Let's see if these two items prove useful," he remarked with a grin.
With that, he promptly made his way toward the backyard.
Ling Han, having completed the car parking in the garage, followed suit.
Meanwhile, atop a tree some distance from the villa, a young man in a suit stood gracefully. His face was unmistakably familiar – none other than Lin Fan.
His gaze was fixed on the villa. Even from a distance, he could discern details using his golden eyes ability.
His gaze reverted to normal, and his expression turned cold.
"So, your girlfriend is Li Yue'er, huh?" his words pierced through the silence like a dagger.
Lin Fan didn't linger atop the tree and immediately descended to the ground. Now, after working hard to find Long Tian's residence, he finally located it and ended up coming here.
However, faced with numerous bodyguards securing the villa, he had no option but to observe from a distance.
Anger still etched his expression as he strode away. He vividly recalled how Xiao Jun had struck him and declared their friendship over. His fury surged at the recollection of Xiao Jun's words. And all of this was solely because of Long Tian!
"Just wait, Long Tian. I will seek revenge!" he declared.
Every step he took seemed to be the epitome of determination. In his mind, revenge was the driving force, regardless of anything about Long Tian's identity.
---
Back in the backyard, Long Tian retrieved the book and canvas from his spatial ring. His eyes scrutinized them meticulously, yet he found nothing remarkable about either.
On the other side, Ling Han couldn't suppress his curiosity. "Young master, I can understand if you paid a high price for the book, but I still don't grasp why you bought the blank canvas. I don't sense anything on it," he said.
"Well, Uncle Ling, simplicity doesn't necessarily mean lack of substance. Although I don't know the purpose of the canvas right now, I I'll consult with Elder Long Chun; he possesses the deepest understanding of paintings and art," Long Tian responded.
Ling Han nodded upon hearing this. "Well, the book will undoubtedly be useful to you; are you going to test it now?" he asked.
"I'll give it a try," Long Tian responded.
Then, he opened the book and once again attempted to comprehend its contents.
However, regardless of how many times he flipped through the pages, the language used was an ancient one that had long been lost.
He flipped another page, and his gaze landed on a hand-drawn painting depicting a human figure raising its hand, igniting a purple-colored fire, with many people surrounding it.
Long Tian's expression filled with surprise; the painting was identical to what he had seen in the ancient book that Liu Hai had shown him.
He decided to experiment by summoning purple fire in his left hand, and suddenly, the fire spread to the tattoo on his left arm.
Observing this, he also conjured purple fire from his right hand, and indeed, it also spread to the tattoo on his right arm.
Ling Han, on the other side, was amazed witnessing this. Long Tian now looked majestic with purple fire on both his right and left arms.
Meanwhile, Long Tian experienced an inexplicable sense of comfort. He savored each moment, closing his eyes and letting the purple fire dance on both his arms.
Unbeknownst to him, some text on the book lit up, causing the purple fire to blaze even larger on both his arms.
Simultaneously, within the depths of his inner being—distinct from the sea of consciousness—something crimson surged from the abyss, emanating a potent demonic energy.
A few seconds later, unexpectedly, a humanoid figure composed of energy, adorned with horns and fiery red eyes, materialized from the abyss, towering as tall as Long Tian.
Returning to reality, Long Tian abruptly opened his eyes, and his body radiated a strong demonic aura.
Ling Han took a step back, his face clearly displaying astonishment. Long Tian now appeared abnormal, with the formidable demonic energy emanating intensely.
Li Yue'er, who happened to be outside, was also taken aback when she saw Long Tian. She rushed towards him immediately.
"What's happening to him?" she asked with concern.
"I don't know either, young lady," Ling Han responded sincerely.
Upon hearing this, Li Yue'er shifted her gaze back to Long Tian. He didn't seem well.
And in this moment, veins in Long Tian's body bulged drastically, pulsating as if channeling something.
With each passing second, suddenly, wings of darkness unfurled uncontrollably from his back.
They seemed to transform into a crimson hue, accompanied by a dense demonic aura.
Ling Han's expression turned serious; his mind filled with the possibility of Long Tian awakening his demonic power.
