Chapter 96: Am I Still Not Better Than Ye Tian?
"So that's how it is." Ye Tian seemed to realize something.
For the past two years, Chen Jian had been responsible for auditing the farm's finances.
It was no wonder Ye Tian had no recollection of it.
As for the Black Shipyard Workshop, he had heard of it. It was the largest shipbuilding workshop in East Sea City.
However, in such a small place like East Sea City, the strength of the largest shipyard was still questionable.
Ye Tian frowned and, not avoiding Yu Tianheng in front of him, asked quietly, "Is our shipyard that impressive?"
Chen Jian wouldn't have taken the liberty of installing the soul power hydraulic propulsion technology on the ships, would he?
If that were the case, things would be a bit tricky.
After all, he had no intention of revealing that technology.
Hearing this, Chen Jian chuckled softly.
It was only someone like Ye Tian, with so many workshops under his name, who could be unaware of his own workshop's capabilities.
Chen Jian explained, "Young Master, the ships our workshop builds are made from northern oak and use the most advanced three-masted sail technology. They're much faster than ordinary ships."
"Oh, it's the three-masted technology." Ye Tian nodded slightly.
This sailboat technology had already taken shape on the Douluo Continent.
However, the ships' streamlining was still not perfected.
It was likely that graduates from East Sea School, assigned to the shipyard, had improved this sailboat technology.
He remembered a physics book he had obtained through sign-ins, which had a mechanics problem using a three-masted sailboat as an example.
Yu Tianheng had no idea what Ye Tian was getting at and assumed he was just boasting.
He didn't believe for a second that Ye Tian didn't even know what his own businesses were about.
To him, Ye Tian's ambitions went no further than this.
With a calm smile, Yu Tianheng said, "Our T-Rex family agreed to do business with you precisely because of your shipbuilding capabilities and technology."
"I've already drafted the shipbuilding contract."
Yu Tianheng took two sheets of light-yellow, fine paper from his storage space, placed them on the stone table, and pushed them toward Ye Tian.
Ye Tian picked up one of the contracts, smiling as he read, "Young Master Yu, you're truly meticulous."
When he saw the ship specifications in the contract, he immediately understood.
120 meters long, 48 meters wide, and requiring extra thickness.
A normal cargo ship wouldn't be this big. This was undoubtedly for refitting into warships.
Seeing the slight surprise on Ye Tian's face, Yu Tianheng's expression remained calm. He casually took a sip of tea and said, "For our T-Rex family, shipbuilding naturally has to be on a large scale."
Ye Tian maintained his composure and didn't expose Yu Tianheng's intentions, nodding lightly in agreement. "That aligns well with the T-Rex family's stature."
Yu Tianheng took another sip of tea, his eyes suddenly serious. "300,000 gold coins for each warship, 20 ships in total. You can expect at least a 40% profit."
Ye Tian sighed helplessly. "But this price was set by you, without consulting me. I would've considered offering you a discount, but your intent to draft the contract in advance clearly wasn't about that."
"That's right." Yu Tianheng set down his tea and, pointing at Ye Tian with his index finger, said firmly, "Since our T-Rex family has already drafted the contract, there's no reason to change it."
"Also, I can break the usual down payment convention and give you 60% upfront."
"But I have one condition: no matter how you do it, all 20 ships must be delivered within a year!"
This confirmed Ye Tian's suspicions that Yu Tianheng wanted to convert the ships into warships.
But whether they were converted or not was the buyer's business.
Ye Tian laughed heartily. "A year? That's plenty of time. I accept."
The workshops he had established in East Sea City had already formed a relatively complete industrial chain.
Purchasing shipbuilding materials was incredibly easy.
Moreover, many stages in the shipbuilding process could be automated.
After calculating carefully, the construction speed would be at least three times faster than usual.
So, finishing 20 large ships in a year wouldn't be a big challenge.
"I like it when you agree so straightforwardly, Young Master Ye."
Yu Tianheng laughed heartily, resting his hand on the stone table.
He had already investigated Ye Tian's manufacturing capabilities thoroughly.
Otherwise, this six-million-gold-coin order wouldn't have landed with Ye Tian.
After all, the six million came from the Xingluo Royal Family, who had been frugal in allocating it to the navy.
The future of the Xingluo Empire's navy depended on this.
Yu Tianheng pointed to the contract. "If there are no issues, let's sign the contract."
"Alright."
Ye Tian took the pen from Chen Jian, quickly signing his name on the contract.
Then Yu Tianheng also signed on behalf of the Blue Lightning T-Rex family.
"Congratulations to both of you on closing such a big deal," Li Haitian chuckled, inwardly sighing at how both were extraordinary talents.
A deal worth six million gold coins was settled in just a few words.
That amount would take the Li family ten years of hard work to accumulate.
Ye Tian smiled brightly. "If it weren't for Clan Leader Li's help in facilitating this, I wouldn't have closed this deal."
"Don't leave too soon; I must give you a big red envelope."
"Haha, you flatter me," Li Haitian waved his hand quickly.
With Ye Tian's support, the Li family's shipbuilding business had already taken a major step forward.
For that, Li Haitian was content.
He absolutely couldn't accept the red envelope.
As the two exchanged pleasantries, a young girl in a green dress, holding a bouquet of flowers, entered the farm courtyard.
Ye Tian looked up and saw that it was Li Jiuchuan.
With her blue hair tied into a ponytail, she looked much more refreshed.
Ye Tian almost didn't recognize her at first glance.
"Jiuchuan, where did you just run off to?"
Seeing Li Jiuchuan, Yu Tianheng greeted her warmly.
He walked over to her and introduced her to Ye Tian. "This is Li Jiuchuan, granddaughter of Sea Sky Douluo."
"I know Ye Tian," Li Jiuchuan's bright eyes sparkled as she glanced cautiously at Ye Tian and then stepped aside to distance herself from Yu Tianheng.
She craned her neck to look around. "Where's Sister Nana?"
"Nana's not at the farm," Ye Tian replied with a smile, looking at Li Jiuchuan. "The flowers in your hands are beautiful."
"Really?" Hearing Ye Tian's compliment, Li Jiuchuan beamed with joy.
She raised her head, her eyes sparkling with hope, and handed the flowers over. "For you."
"Thank you, Sister Jiuchuan."
Ye Tian did not refuse the small gift, taking the bouquet and placing one of the flowers in her hair.
"The flowers look even more beautiful on you, Sister Jiuchuan."
Hearing this, Li Jiuchuan blushed.
Yu Tianheng, watching from the side, felt utterly frustrated.
Why was Li Jiuchuan so indifferent toward him but so fond of Ye Tian?
He was the young master of the Blue Lightning T-Rex Clan. Was he really not better than Ye Tian?
