Chapter 224: The colors are back {132}
As Aaron returned to his base, he yawned, feeling the need for a nap. The first thing he noticed was Miyuki, standing there in some more human-like clothing.
She was wearing a white sleeveless shirt alongside some crop top jeans which barely did a good job of hiding her figure.
His wallet felt lighter every time she was around, this whole mansion cost so much money considering she preferred eating very cold food and expensive.
Why the heck did she like moose cheese, it was just regular cheese but because some rare cow produce it that shit cost a lot of money.
Then there was her taste in stuff she wanted to wear, she wore some very specific outfits that fitted her anatomy best.
If the temperature of a certain area drops beneath the level where an average human starts to feel hot or sweat a bit, her ice power gets weaker and she may suffer some attacks due to it, as her body is not adapted for heat.
Although there is some product to slow that fact down, it still doesn't change the fact that her clothes either have their heating system or are pretty skimpy, not to show skin but because she wants to stay cool.
That was probably why she liked drinking iced tea so much, alongside anything cold really, she was just regulating her body temperature back to an average level.
'Those pants are way too short,' he thought to himself, though her regal aura made her outfit somehow still seem dignified.
He still didnt know how the fuck she managed to do that but oh well.
In her royal tone, Miyuki asked, "Now that Akaishi is dead, do you intend to let the fat human go?" By "fat human," she was clearly referring to Buu.
Aaron raised an eyebrow and asked, "Have you mastered your power yet?"
He was curious, he wondered if the princess had gotten the hang of what Yami had started teaching her about a week ago.
She tilted her head slightly, her icy confidence intact, and responded, "I'm getting the hang of it."
Aaron gave her a gentle smile, then casually said, "Follow me."
Miyuki hesitated, clearly curious but guarded. "Why?" she asked.
"I feel like treating you a bit since you've worked hard," he replied smoothly.
Her immediate response was sharp but regal. "It is not so simple to earn my favor, especially not in the manner you imply."
Aaron chuckled, waving off her teasing. "That's not what I meant. I just want to take you out. If you're serious about considering this whole fiancé thing, I at least want you to feel comfortable."
Miyuki raised an eyebrow but seemed to soften just a little. He wasn't rushing her, and that subtle care caught her attention.
"Fine I am coming," She said calmly, he just nodded his head.
"Rui, I will be back in a few...take care sis," He said softly toward where he could feel his sister's presence.
"Have fun, Nii-san" Rui sounded excited, oh well he was sure it wasn't anything too nefarious.
Aaron leaned against the wall, placing his hand in his pocket, and waited for the ice princess to get there.
He was truly questioning whether he should dope her before the final fight, he seriously did not want to risk her life.
However she was stubborn and she would probably be mad at him for a while after that, which he usually would have nothing against.
He has nothing against hate, matter of fact he could breathe and receive some, however for some unknown reason, her opinion matters a lot more to him than it should.
As the two continued on their walk, not a word was exchanged between the two, they just enjoyed the silence between the two of them.
As they turned around the corner, Aaron saw an ice cream truck.
"Want some"
Her eyes gazed at the mint chocolate chip....well he should have expected that considering the taste she preferred.
The minty taste probably tastes refreshing and with the ice cream behind, it probably makes her mouth feel frozen, and considering her taste, she likes that.
The chocolate chip was probably for flavor.
With one hand in his pocket and the other behind his neck, he walked toward the ice cream stand.
Before he got there, he felt her hand grab him, as he looked at her, he noticed her gaze looking at the clothes shop nearby.
Well her message was clear...guess they were going shopping before eating the ice cream.
"You need new clothes"
"What's wrong with my old one" He argued but she wasn't listening and said
"Well it's time to change your wardrobe a bit"
Well, she wasn't wrong, he could be seen only in a certain set of outfits, but it wasn't really something he was against.
He liked his outfits but oh well.
He was dragged through the shopping district.....
Though his gut feeling was telling him the only reason she spent so much was because she knew it was within his budget even if she had access to his account, he noticed that she only used it for the necessities.
If he exclude her taste in food and how expensive some of her clothes are, she used about 100$ monthly.
Which was quite affordable.
"Why are we here?" He said as they entered a hair stylist shop.
"You hair.."
"Well Rui is quite literally one of the 2 people I let near my hair," He said softly, he was not going to let some random stranger touch his hair.
"They won't cut it"
..
..
"lap pillow for the whole week"
"You got yourself a deal"
Well that didnt take much, he switched his mind quite quickly on that front.
As he sat down on the chair, the female hair stylist looked at the skinned woman next to her before saying
"How would you like it done, ma'am"
"Brush it up, make sure it sticks out more, and you better not use anything that isn't the best"
How sweet of her.
Well, his hair went through a lot of shampoos, he did wash his hair so there was no dandruff, however, it seemed like his hair felt so relieved to have such care in such a long time.
His naturally soft hair got even softer the longer the stylist went on, the lady doing his hair was jealous, why was this guy's hair so easy to style, and so easy to deal with?
Eventually, she finished the cut, Miyuki paid the lady about 12,000$ yen before walking off with him.
The lady stood there, that was a lot of money for just washing the guy's hair.
The two went shopping a bit, buying him a new shirt that he probably would barely wear.....he liked his old suit a lot better than this one.
Later that day, they went to get some ice cream.
Aaron held the icecream in his hand as he stared at the girl infront of him
"What is there something on my face" Miyuki added as she noticed the way he was looking at her.
Her ice cream in her hand
"Nothing" He just said with a smile.
He got a 'hmph' from her as she went back to her ice cream.
As they slowly made their way back toward the base he opened his mouth and said.
"Akaishi is alive"
pov change
Elsewhere, far from Aaron and Miyuki, Akaishi stumbled through a darkened alleyway, barely keeping his battered form together. He made his way back to his master, Gifu, the dark force that had brought him back to life after his first death. But now, the original soul in Akaishi's body was clawing its way to the surface, trying to wrest control from him.
"It's just a matter of time," Akaishi rasped, forcing himself onward.
He entered a realm that seemed to warp the very fabric of space, where Gifu resided—an eerie place that thrummed with malevolent energy. Akaishi fell to his knees before his master, breathing heavily.
"Master... the anomaly—Aaron Marshall—he's more dangerous than we expected."
Gifu, a figure of regal menace cloaked in shadow, stepped forward from the darkness. He looked down at Akaishi, his sharp eyes narrowing as they gleamed with sadistic amusement. "Ah, Akaishi... or should I say... the puppet clinging to this body." Gifu's voice echoed with both amusement and condescension.
Akaishi's face twisted in frustration. He could feel it—the original owner of this body, the one whose soul should have been extinguished, still fought for dominance.
"The soul of the man you inhabit is stronger than you anticipated," Gifu continued, his lips curling into a wicked smile. "Even after death, the human spirit can be amusing, don't you think?"
Akaishi gritted his teeth, pain wracking his body as the original soul surged again, trying to break free. "Please... master... grant me more power. I need to finish the job."
Gifu tilted his head as if considering the request. Then, with a slow, almost lazy wave of his hand, the dark energy surrounding Akaishi flared, tightening its grip on his already fragile existence.
"You are no longer fit to handle this," Gifu said with cold finality, his voice growing sharp. "I'll deal with Aaron Marshall myself."
Akaishi's eyes widened, panic setting in as he felt the suffocating grip of Gifu's power.
"Wait! Master—"
But it was too late. Gifu's form began to shift and grow, warping into something far more terrifying as he prepared to leave his realm. He gave one final glance at Akaishi, who was now on the verge of being consumed by the original soul within him.
"I guess it's my turn to play." Gifu's voice dripped with malicious intent as he stepped through a portal, heading directly toward Aaron Marshall.
Back with Aaron, he paused in his steps as a cold shiver ran down his spine. Something dark was coming. He could feel it—an impending confrontation that he couldn't avoid.
He could feel it from here...
Death....
However he was brought back from his nightmare by Miyuki's hand squeezing his....she was shaking...she was scared but was trying to act like it did not bother her.
"Everything will be fine," he said with a soft smile as he looked at her.
Time skip.
Aaron woke up the next day in his bed, he felt something heavy sleeping on his chest...upon closer look, it was Miyuki in her nightgown.
.....
Still, didnt change the fact that he was in for the life beating of a lifetime.
His eyes gazed at Miyuki's graceful figure and he silently made a vow to himself.....he would not die...for their sake.
As that vow was made...deep within himself....what seemed to be a broken vein slowly started to heal and mend itself....as that happened, the young boy's eyes seemed to glow a bit...his body becoming more sensitive to all the energy flowing around him....he could see it now.
Something that he was unable to see since his childhood...the colors, they were back.
