Chapter 15: Sera
Aire immediately looked back and saw another woman making her way in their direction.
Nevertheless, he wasn't surprised this time. After all, the rooms were intentionally made mixed with the intention of teaching the students to get used to it. A room with four, with him and Kymei as the men. Naturally, the last one was supposed to be a woman. As mentioned before, this was the Ascension Age School, which trained Stellar Risers. These Risers would be sent out of the planet at some point in spaceships to help defend their Baulmu Territory, go out for exploration, and things like that.
Spaceships carried big crews, and space inside was limited. If the Risers began to find problems up there because of gender issues, that would be complicated. That being said, the school might as well work on it while they were still on land. Thus, mixed rooms for everyone...except for those who could pay for private ones.
One mustn't misunderstand, though. Rooms had nothing to do with the resources managed by the Baulmu Alliance. A room, in the end, was just a room. As for Stellar Energy Resources, these ones definitely couldn't be bought with money. Well, it's still possible to acquire Stellar Energy Resources with money. However, they were definitely not at the level of the ones procured by the three Stellar Riser Schools.
Usually, such resources were the dregs thrown away by the Baulmu Alliance that didn't live up to the specifications. They had impurities, poison, not enough energy to make a difference, or maybe the energy was too chaotic to be consumed safely. That's why it was still possible to buy such a thing with money...which didn't change the fact that they would still be very expensive.
Going back to the last roommate, she was a black girl, the only one in their group. She was just like Altina, someone who joined the school the previous year thanks to her talent. In the Ascension Age School, that wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Black, mixed, white...the prejudice about skin color was long gone. For that, Earth had the subjugation of their planet by the Baulmu Alliance to thank.
As mentioned before, Earth was separated into countries before the appearance of the Baulmu Alliance. However, once Earth surrendered, the Baulmu Alliance eliminated all borders. If one wanted to think about countries, then planet Earth was that country.
Aire then smiled as he extended his hand, introducing himself as he said, "Hello, I'm Aire Ruehnar. Your new roommate." At the same time, he thought, 'Not that I wanted to be in this calamitous room, though.'
The girl narrowed her eyes as she deeply stared at Aire. Her expression then went dark as she asked him, "Are you perhaps that Aire who took part in the clinic incident with Altina?"
Aire was left with his hand hanging there. Obviously, that girl didn't want to greet him at all. Without any other choice, he retracted his hand and nodded with an awkward expression. "Ahem...that was indeed me."
*Bang!*
Out of nowhere, the girl kicked Aire's stomach, forcing him to kneel on the ground as she said, fuming, "You piece of shit. Because of you, Altina's situation, which is already bad, turned even worse."
*Cough, cough...*
Aire felt like he was going to vomit out his lunch.
"Wait, Sera! I told you, it was all my fault," Altina spoke as she jumped between Aire and Sera. "If not because of my bad sleeping habits, that wouldn't have happened at all."
Sera narrowed her eyes, seeing Altina defending the guy as she asked her, "Why must you always handle everything by yourself?" In the end, she sighed before hugging Altina. "Fine! But if he turns out to be like those pompous trash people who can't take a loss, I'll break his neck." It was pretty obvious that Sera considered Altina to be quite important.
Aire felt a chill on his back. He might not defend Altina, but he wouldn't bad mouth her either.
However, it was then that Altina's expression became a little red as she remembered what happened a few minutes ago at the entrance. "Aire wouldn't do that. He even went out of his way to defend me instead."
Sera was taken aback as she looked at Aire. As for Aire himself, he wanted to say that he also didn't defend her because he wanted to. Then again, he also couldn't tell that Stella was responsible for his fit of rage at that time.
"Is that true?" Sera asked before adding, "I can't see him as the type of guy that would put his life on the line for others."
Touché!
Sera was 100% correct. He wasn't! He definitely wasn't that nice guy. However, it also seemed like a bad idea to tell her that he didn't want to.
It was then that Kymei sent Sera a message through his communicator as he said, "Sera, take a look at the video. It's all over the non-official student media."
In response, she then put on her communicator and began to look into the video. Sure enough, it showed the moment Aire lost his control and bought a fight against all the people bad-mouthing Altina. During those moments, Aire looked like a completely different person.
"This..." Sera looked at Aire as if she saw a ghost. When she heard that he defended Altina, she thought it was just some minor event that no one would pay attention to. However, she didn't expect him to buy a fight against everyone else just because he was angry at how Altina was treated.
Immediately, Sera's opinion of Aire had turned upside down, apologizing to him as she said, "So-Sorry, Aire! I misunderstood!" She then came forward and helped him get up. To her, someone able to do such a thing was definitely not a bad guy. She didn't believe Aire did that just to conquer Altina. After all, anyone who only thought about getting a woman would definitely not try and buy a fight against the entire school because of it.
Aire bitterly smiled as he looked at Sera, thinking to himself, 'Well, at least she isn't an enemy anymore.'
Though, Sera continued apologizing as she asked, "How can I apologize to you? I did something terrible just now."
At that moment, Stella's voice echoed in Aire's mind as she said, "Ask her to accept your seed!"
"Your ass!" said Aire as he almost passed out in rage. Aire truly wanted to give Stella a beating.
