Chapter 6: Chapter 6
"Partner, stop and turn around!" Knowing that this was going to do nothing to help his situation, Ddraig decided to speak with Azazel through the Boosted Gear. "Azazel, I'm guessing you came because of the sudden burst of energy from my partner."
The Governor of the Fallen Angels, with his twelve dark wings spread out, decided to approach the child in front of him. "Sensing the energy wasn't the only thing that had gotten my attention. It was the energy signature, specifically the power that this child in front of me holds is what got my attention. Usually, in devil territory, I tend to leave the matters up to the devils, but this might be a little too much for the devils in this land. Ddraig, you and I both know that a dragon is unpredictable, especially when this one has an energy signature slightly tainted by maliciousness."
Issei finally turned around, with anger upon seeing another Fallen Angel in front of him, dashed straight at the Governor. "Quite a feisty partner you got there Ddraig."
"Let's say that your kind hasn't really treated him that kindly." Ddraig angrily spoke towards the Governor.
Azazel simply grabbed Issei in midair and simply slammed him down with immense power, enough for him to knock the kid unconscious. "What do you mean by that?"
"Quit playing games Azazel. I'm going to ask you this once. What was the point in ruining my partners life?"
Azazel was confused with what was happening. He had only recently moved into this town in order to peacefully watch how the devils were doing in this town. "Ddraig, I simply don't know what you're talking about."
However, this was when Ddraig began taking control of Issei's body in a fit of rage. Slowly, Issei's body began illuminating a dark crimson color that spoke of dominance. Getting up to his feet, Ddraig, who was in possession of Issei's body for the time being, began expelling out a small portion of his aura which easily exceeded anything that Issei could have produced. Azazel was slightly beginning to sweat upon sensing the power.
"You're the Governor of the Fallen Angels and you're telling me that you simply don't know that a Fallen Angel had originally killed my partner. That's quite hard to believe, Governor."
"I had only sent a small group of fallen angels to investigate some potential sacred gear users to complete my research on how they work. I only assigned them to keep watch and report any unusual instances with those users... Wait, don't tell me." Azazel finally began understanding why Ddraig was so enraged with him. Slowly, his confusion began being replaced with a huge frown on his face. Ddraig, through the eyes of Issei, began noticing the shift of moods that the Governor began going through. "Are you telling me one of those fallen angels disobeyed my order of not killing the humans?"
Knowing that many subordinates could be not so loyal to their leaders, Ddraig began pieces things together to understand that the group of fallen angels had gone against Azazel's orders. From what Ddraig had heard, after the Great War, Azazel had become very relaxed... for a moment there, Ddraig had thought that those rumors were heavily false, but seeing the mood swing and the raw emotions from Azazel was enough. Slowly, Ddraig began going back to the mindscape which caused Issei's body to immediately collapse on the ground.
"That's what exactly happened to my partner."
Azazel, once hearing that, finally understood why he wasn't getting any reports back from one of his assigned groups. Now it was Azazel's turn to be mad. His people had nearly caused a war with the devils, potentially even the dragons which would have most likely led into the War that would doom his people. The devils have their super devils while the dragons had their outrage state. The fallen angels had only the ability to summon light spears. Azazel, upon seeing the boy, knew that he was ultimately to blame due to his incompetence in being a strict leader. Knowing that the Devils were on their way, Azazel grabbed the boy and set up a teleporter for him to leave. Not a few moments later, he quickly teleported somewhere else right before the devils arrived.
Once arriving in the small apartment that Azazel had decided to own in the devils' territory, Azazel immediately decided to place Issei on the ground before walking towards his couch to begin thinking of what he might have to do. Currently, from what he was seeing, the White Dragon Emperor would absolutely decimate the current Red Dragon Emperor but seeing as thought the Red Dragon Emperor was completely transformed into an evil dragon, it allowed for the Red Dragon to be able to tap into the Dragons second most powerful aspect, the ability to activate the outrage mode. A form where the dragons, when influenced by their emotions so gradually in which their mind was only focused on one thing, increases their power by tens to hundreds of folds for s short burst of time. However, even that much of a difference wouldn't mean much when the White Dragon Emperor was leagues upon leagues beyond the current Red Dragon Emperor.
"Ddraig, can you answer a single question of mine?"
"Speak fallen."
"How long has it been since your host has activated your powers?"
"It only has been short period of time." Answering as brief as he could, Ddraig still entirely trust the Fallen Angel, especially when his faction was one of the factions that had played the part of him being sealed.
"I see."
For the rest of the time before Issei woke up, Azazel continued thinking of what he might want to do with supporting the Red Dragon Emperor. There was no way that he would let the Red Dragon Emperor go without helping the dragon out. Once Issei had woken up, Azazel was the first person that he saw. With his mind not being influenced with rage, Issei, instead of straight up attacking Azazel, was on guard while backing up slightly.
"There is no need to be worried Red Dragon. I won't harm you." Still seeing Issei on guard, Azazel sighed before continuing. "If I wanted to harm you, wouldn't I have done it while you were unconscious?"
Issei was still on guard trying to remember what had happened during his time before being unconscious.
"I know what had happened to you, Issei Hyoudou." Issei was slightly on edge with what the Fallen Angel was going to say. He had hoped that it wasn't going to be the thing that he was thinking of. "Raynare, the woman that I had assigned with observing potential sacred gear users, had most likely killed you, or one of the fallen angels in her group had done so."
Just hearing the name had sent Issei's emotions all over the place. However, Azazel didn't stop there. "For her actions, I wanted to apologize, I know this won't mean anything, but I didn't think that she would go to this extent. I, Azazel, the leader of the Fallen Angels, want to apologize on the behalf of that idiotic Fallen Angel." To Ddraig's surprise, Azazel had bowed his head when apologizing to Issei. "Since this was my fault of my failure of being a proper leader, I want to make it up to you."
Before Issei could respond, Ddraig quickly interfered with his response and began communicating with Issei through his mind. "Partner, listen, I may not want this, and you especially don't want to help from the Fallen Angels after what they had done, but think of this as an important pathway to obtain your goals. Taking advantage of the benefits that Azazel could bring would be far more beneficial and is too good to lose."
Once hearing his partner, Issei began calming down and slowly began putting down his guard. From what he was hearing, the leader of the fallen angels was in front of him, and he was offering to help him to make up for his "failure" as a leader. Seeing that Issei was patiently waiting for his response, Azazel sighed in relief that he wouldn't have to fight the Red Dragon Emperor, especially when he saw Ddraig, one of the top beings in the supernatural world, beginning to possess his partner just to protect his partner from himself.
"Ddraig, if you don't mind me asking, does your partner have any other power beside the Boosted Gear? Just want to know to potentially help the little fella out."
"I knew that you were going to ask this. My partner is a complete dragon. Which means that he has the potential of two aspects that make dragons some of the deadliest creatures in the supernatural world. However, my partner had the capabilities of both aspects..." That alone, once Azazel had processed the information told to him, had caused for the governor of the Fallen Angels to widen his eyes in shock. Opening his mouth in disbelief, before finally responding.
"Don't tell me he had unlocked his..."
"Aura."
The tone of which Ddraig spoke was enough for Azazel to know that the dragon in front of him had already unlocked his aura. This had not only brought Azazel to respect Issei even more, but it had caused him to show even more sympathy towards the boy. Azazel, being as wise and old as he is, knows of the two ways of dragon obtaining their draconic aura, one being through many years of training and the other being through a traumatic event. It wasn't that hard for Azazel to guess which one it was.
"Boy, listen to what I am about to tell you. You're a complete game changer in the balance in the supernatural. Not only are you the Red Dragon Emperor, which gives you the power to fight against the Gods themselves, but you also have the power of a true dragon, which gives you raw benefits in all physical capabilities as well as your outrage mode." Issei began questioning in his mind about this "outrage mode" before Azazel, seeing the confused expression on Issei's face, kind of guessed it was about the outrage mode. "The outrage mode allows for dragons to use their emotions to give them an insane boost in power. I'm guessing it occurred when you unleashed your emotions when you were at the abandoned church."
"So, it's basically a power up."
"Indeed, I suggest that you begin controlling your emotions to where you can, with much ease, unleash the outrage form because this will bring you much more power than most of whatever the Boosted Gear can give you."
Once hearing this, Issei was even more shocked in knowing that he had even more power in him than before.
"Another thing that you can do as well would be to train immensely. Dragons have a tendency of being training maniacs and battle maniacs, so I wouldn't be surprised if you were to become one."
Issei continued listening to whatever the Fallen Angel in front of him was saying. He had already felt some of those symptoms of changing into a full-blown dragon, especially during his last week of training with Ddraig to gain a better footing in the supernatural world. Azazel, finally getting to the point where he wanted to be the most, began preparing a teleportation circle.
"One thing that I can do to help you would be to give you some of the best training equipment that the Fallen Angels have." Azazel quickly finished the teleportation circle, which once finished, blinded the entire room. What appeared, after the blinding lights had faded, were some small, blue wristbands. "These wristbands may look simple." Once the wristbands had been thrown to Issei, they quickly began falling once Azazel applied some magic to them. "It's quite simple to make training much harder for us supernatural beings." Landing straight in front of Issei, the wristbands quickly began crushing the ground below.
Issei grabbed the four wristbands and placed them on each of his limbs. "Just apply some magic to them and they will begin working. The more magic, the more efficient they become."
Doing just that, Issei began pouring a massive amount of energy into them. In an instant, he toppled over and began sinking straight through the ground. However, Azazel was prepared for such and had a magic barrier to prevent Issei from breaking through the floor and into the apartment below Azazel's.
"What the hell is this?" Issei quickly choked out before being forced to the ground from the pressure.
"These wristbands allow for magic to enhance them into increasing their weight of them." Azazel proudly stated before continuing. "The more magic that is placed into them, the more they begin to glow."
Issei, upon hearing the last statement, quickly looked at the wristbands. Now since he was finally focusing on them, he could see that they were glowing faintly.
"They reach their limits when the wristbands begin pulsating rapidly."
Ddraig heard all this and had stars in his eyes. This was going to be the perfect way of continuously training his partner to near failure every session that they trained. Issei was quite shocked at such technology existing in the supernatural world. "How heavy are they currently?"
"Seeing as they are barely glowing and that you're already on the ground. I am guessing they are currently weighting around 1 ton each."
Issei looked shocked beyond belief. There was no need for any other form of equipment when he had such a thing with him. Azazel quickly spoke out once more before Issei could say anything.
"The primary reason why I am giving these to you is that you're a dragon. Dragons, more than the devils, angels, and fallen angels, are beings more consistently involved with training their strength. Dragons are just more adaptive to strength training than they are to pure magic as compared to devils, fallen angels, and angels. That's why I decided to give you these wristbands because they are more for growing out your strength than they are for growing out your magic capabilities. What I am trying to say is that these will be better suited for you than they are for regular supernatural beings." Before letting Issei process all the information that Azazel had told him, the old fallen angel decided to say one last thing to him. "And... To top it all off, if you're ever in trouble, just contact me. This way I could potentially help you out in dangerous situations."
"Thank you..." Issei was too shocked to show his true gratitude to Azazel, but he did show a small smile. Issei began extracting some of the magic in the wristbands to lower the weight applied upon him since he couldn't be walking around in public with around 4 tons on him unless he wanted to deal with the issue of damaging the property around him. After finally lowering the weight and getting up, Issei began walking away. The conversation between the two finally ended with Issei leaving the apartment.
"Huh... You were right Ddraig. Staying there and listening was the best idea." Ddraig could only proudly huff in approval to what his partner had said. He obviously knew that he was correct
On his way back home, Issei was left deep in thought about what he was going to do now... That Fallen Angel was on a while different level than the others. Just by being near the man, Issei was feeling the urge of leaving the premises and his instincts were screaming at him to run away. This made him think more about growing than ever before because if he didn't... The two most important things to him would be gone quicker than he would ever expect, especially when the supernatural beings have no limits to how cruel they want to be.
With Azazel, he was just watching through the window after Issei had left. Looking straight into the night sky, Azazel could only wonder about the events to come. "Red Dragon, I wish I was a better leader, I wish I could have stopped that woman. Now, with my mistakes, the trauma and damage that has been done can never be recovered." Azazel, through his many years of living and through his many years of gaining wisdom, knew that Issei was going through immense pain. He saw through just the facial expression that Issei was bottling up his emotions. The dead look in Isseis eyes, from what Azazel remembers, had told him everything that he needed to know.
"Both Dragon Emperors of today's era have both gone through things that they should have never been through." Turning around, Azazel muttered one last thing. "I will make it up to you, Red Dragon."
