Chapter 67: Slowly falling for you
The atmosphere in the room shifted as Kamsi, emboldened by an unexpected surge of confidence, leaned in. Xavier, still frozen by her boldness, watched her intently, his breath hitching in his chest. Then, in an unexpected turn, Kamsi's lips crashed into his, her kiss demanding and fierce. Time seemed to stop for a heartbeat as Xavier stood still, momentarily stunned, before a rush of heat coursed through him, and his body responded. His hands instinctively moved toward her waist, but before he could deepen it, Kamsi pulled back, her eyes wide with a mix of defiance and something else—something dangerous that set Xavier's pulse racing.
The crowd, too, was caught off guard. Eyes were wide, mouths agape. Damon, unable to contain his shock, blurted out, "Holy shit!" His voice was a sharp contrast to the stunned silence that followed.
"Damn..." Gilbert muttered under his breath, a knowing smirk tugging at his lips. He'd seen this coming—the tension between the two was undeniable.
Zendaya, her mouth hanging open in disbelief, was the first to react. Her eyes darted between Kamsi and Xavier, then widened further as she saw the effect it had on both of them. But the chaos didn't stop there.
Xavier, blinking as if snapping out of a trance, suddenly realized what had just happened. His mind was in turmoil, but a slow, dangerous smile crept up his face as he leaned back, savoring the moment. His eyes locked onto Kamsi's—intense, questioning, and filled with something raw. He was about to say something, but the next moment, Kamsi's expression changed. Her face scrunched in sudden discomfort, and then—
**PUKE!!!**
The sound echoed across the room, and a collective groan rose from the crowd as Kamsi's stomach rebelled, splattering all over Xavier's expensive shirt. The tension shattered, and Damon and Gilbert both let out uncontrollable laughter, unable to suppress their amusement. Even Alexander, typically composed, snorted in laughter.
"Gross," Zendaya murmured, half-embarrassed for her friend, but her eyes were still glued to the scene unfolding. She reached a hand to her forehead, trying to will away the awkwardness that had somehow become her reality.

Xavier stood there for a moment, stunned, his eyes flicking between the mess on his clothes and Kamsi, who seemed completely mortified. Her face was flushed a deep red as she stumbled, her eyes fluttering and her legs shaky. It was as if the kiss had taken everything out of her. Then, without warning, she slumped, and Xavier's reflexes kicked in.
In an instant, he was there, catching her by the waist with one arm, while his other hand traced the outline of his lips, still warm from her kiss. His expression was a mixture of frustration and something deeper—something he couldn't quite place.
"Troublesome," Xavier muttered under his breath, but the smirk that tugged at the corner of his lips betrayed his true feelings. He could never have predicted this turn of events, but he certainly wasn't backing away now.
Kamsi, barely coherent, mumbled something, her eyes struggling to stay open. The crowd watched in awe as Xavier, ever the enigma, gently steadied her. He lifted her slightly in his arms, ignoring the disgusted murmurs around them, and without a second glance, he walked her away from the crowd.
The atmosphere buzzed with gossip and speculation, but Xavier remained unfazed, his gaze still fixed on Kamsi as she weakly clung to him. His mind, a storm of conflicting emotions, was slowly starting to make sense of everything. Kamsi had caught him completely off guard, and for the first time in a long while, he found himself at a loss.

As they reached the counter, Xavier ordered a drink for her, though his eyes never left her face. He could still taste her kiss on his lips, and it made his stomach twist with both desire and confusion. His hand gripped the glass, and his jaw clenched as he watched her sip the soda he had handed her. The room around them felt far too small, the noise too loud.
"You okay?" he asked quietly, his voice softer than it had been all evening, but there was a hint of something more in it—something vulnerable, buried beneath layers of his usual arrogance.
Kamsi's eyes were still unfocused, her cheeks flushed. "I'm fine," she replied, but her voice was shaky.
He leaned in slightly, his breath against her ear. "You're not fine," he said, low and with a touch of smirk. "But we'll get you there. Just—don't do that again, alright?"
His words were teasing, but there was an underlying sincerity that made Kamsi's heart flutter despite herself.
Then, she looked up at him, eyes still a little dazed. She wasn't sure if it was the dizziness from the drink or the lingering effects of the kiss, but she felt her pulse quicken again. The distance between them seemed to shrink, but before anything could happen, she stepped back, still overwhelmed by everything that had just occurred.
"Right... maybe I'll stick to dancing next time," she murmured, already trying to regain her composure. But her lips curved into a small, mischievous smile. She was starting to feel like herself again.
Xavier's smirk only deepened. "Dance, huh?" He leaned closer, voice husky, "I'll be watching."But just as he turned back to her he realized she had fallen asleep and a smirk crept on his face.
Xavier stood at the edge of the bed, watching her sleep peacefully, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the window. *How did I get here?* He chuckled internally, surprised at how deeply he'd fallen for her. He had tried to ignore it, tried to suppress the pull of affection, but now he found himself craving more of her touch… and kiss. His fingers unconsciously traced his lips, remembering the last time they met hers.
Her delicate face was serene, untouched by the chaos of the waking world. Her smooth, deep brown skin glowed warmly in the dim light, as though kissed by the moon itself. Her high cheekbones gave her face an effortless elegance, while her soft, full lips were slightly parted in her slumber, their curve drawing his gaze longer than he intended. Her dark eyelashes rested gently against her cheeks, framing her closed eyes in a peaceful expression that made his heart ache.
Her hair, thick and curly, was tied up in a loose braided bun that rested just above her head, a soft halo framing her features. She seemed so small, so at peace beneath the covers. Xavier felt an overwhelming urge to reach out, to brush a stray curl from her forehead, to close the space between them.
But he hesitated. She stirred ever so slightly, the faintest smile curling her lips as though she were lost in a pleasant dream. He sighed, his heart swelling. He hadn't planned to fall for her, but here he was, utterly captivated.
