Meanwhile, at Alphonso Suites.
A man in a suit observed the whole conversation from a distance and walked up to Julian and Kate, who were discussing Kevin’s recent service.
"Julian… did that young man book our most expensive suite?" the man in the suit asked.
"Ah, boss. Yes, he did, sir," Julian answered.
The man before them was the youngest son of the owner of the hotel and managed the hotel staff and operations. He was known for disguising himself sometimes to see how his staff treated customers, potential customers, and returning customers of the suite. He firmly believed customer satisfaction was the key to a successful enterprise and would go as far as testing all his staff members personally.
"Evening, boss," Kate greeted with a curtsey.
"How many times will I tell you to address me as Giovanni, tch." Giovanni muttered under his breath and popped a Tic-Tac into his mouth. Giovanni was a tall Italian man with black curly hair shaved at the sides and dark amber eyes that seemed to burn bright when he focused on something. He wore an expensive-looking unbuttoned suit jacket, a rose-red shirt without a tie, black trousers, and black derby shoes.
"Julian… I want you to continue taking care of that customer as you’ve done so far tonight. Your pay for this month will be doubled," Giovanni said and was about to walk away but looked at Kate.
"I saw how you tried to engage the client, but you tend to do this as if being forced. There are many out there who would gladly take your place in a heartbeat. You all get paid better than your counterparts in other establishments like this. The same goes for you, Julian. Tell accounting that you are getting a bonus this month, Kate," Giovanni said as he popped another Tic-Tac and left.
"Phew!" Julian and Kate could relax now that Giovanni had left.
They soon laughed at each other and left for their respective duties.

Kevin drove to Alphonso Suites with a large smile on his face and a large problem.
"I didn’t know she was like that. Her clothes hide the truth about her; she’s blessed!" Kevin commented to himself and suddenly remembered that he might have to spend another night away from home.
"Oh, that’s right, I need to get a new place for Mum." Kevin pulled up to the front of the hotel, and the valet was more than happy to drive that majestic beast to the VIP parking lot.
"Oh, look at that! How did your date go, tiger?" Kate asked, greeting Kevin at the entrance.
"Don’t answer that. It’s written all over your face. Go easy; you look like you're straight out of prison. I can even smell your dissatisfaction. Forgive me for my unprofessionalism," Kate giggled to herself and soon straightened herself out.
"You’re half right. But I need something from you, Kate," Kevin asked, moving closer to her.
‘Continue to serve Kevin to the best of your ability,’ thoughts ran through Kate’s mind as she remembered Giovanni’s order.
"Do you happen to know any penthouses around for sale?" Kevin asked, breaking Kate out of her trance.
"Oh, that’s what you wanted. Oh." Kate didn’t stutter, but she recovered from her high assumptions and expectations from a rich kid like Kevin.
"We happen to dabble in real estate around Bellwood. It's late; let’s check the penthouses tomorrow, okay?" Kate suggested, receiving an approving nod from Kevin.
Kevin threw himself on his soft bed, his frame sinking into it, causing a guttural groan to escape.
A notification sound stopped Kevin from enjoying the comfort of such a luxurious bed.
He took out his new phone and saw a text from Gwen:
*Thanks for tonight. Let’s do this again.*
"Nice," Kevin grinned as he locked his phone and lay down on his back.
Memories of the evening swept through his mind until he remembered Queen Ashley and Raven, the first creation he took pride in.
Soon his happiness faded.
"Ha. I better cultivate," Kevin said as he removed his clothes, wore light clothing, and got into a lotus position on the floor.
He loved the way things were now and was enjoying every moment of it, but he didn’t want to be in a position of helplessness again. It was something too extreme he experienced and hadn’t gotten over yet.
---
The night was still young, and a female student ran urgently into a luxurious mansion with well-trimmed hedges and trees accentuating the architectural highlights of the building under the full moon.
The girl wore a white shirt with black hair sweeping across her shoulders and a short black skirt. She knocked urgently on the door of the mansion as if something was chasing her in a horror movie.
"Let me in… I need to see you!" the black-haired girl cried out.
"I need to see you… please," she pleaded once more, this time her tone mellow as her figure shrank before the door, leaning on it.
The lights came on at the doorstep, indicating someone inside heard her. Maybe there was hope for this girl after all.
She backed away a bit so as not to fall forward when the person behind the door opened it.
The door creaked open, causing a ray of hope in the girl's mind as a smile formed on her face. But what answered her was something the shadows hid.
---
Some teenagers were out discussing homework when a dark-haired girl in a white shirt and short black skirt, who appeared to be drained of bodily fluids, walked past them groggily, inciting a jump scare in the process.
---
The next day, Kevin opened his eyes while sitting in his lotus position and got up feeling refreshed. If any normal person attempted sitting up in a lotus position all night till morning, they certainly wouldn’t be feeling… refreshed.
Kevin wore a tan coat, a black shirt, a new watch he got Julian to buy for him, and new black shoes.
"Manners maketh man. But clothes also make the man," Kevin smiled as he adjusted his watch and arranged his hair.
"I might need a hairpin. Gwen was just staring at me when my hair would fall into my mouth when I tried to eat. I guess I weirded her out a bit."
Making his way to the reception, he was greeted by Julian, who noticed Kevin’s presence giving off good vibes and calm that he couldn’t help but offer a smile and greet him.
Kevin walked over to Kate, who couldn’t help but see Kevin differently. Usually, she only saw him at night and wondered if he was just a handsome creature of the night.
But here he was. He didn’t burn in the sun’s rays but instead looked otherworldly.
"Alright, Kate. Let’s go. But do you mind stopping by a store?"
