“I was on a nearby planet, and even we felt the shockwaves that threatened to tear buildings apart,” Finn began, his eyes narrowing as he recalled the memory. “But what I saw next was something straight out of a nightmare. Millions of people rained down from the sky, their bodies turned into fine paste as they painted the ground below. Panic erupted everywhere, and people were running for their lives. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to seize more loot and leave, right? I should’ve left when I saw that,” Finn admitted, his tone darkening.

“But if I had, I wouldn’t have met my two lovelies,” Finn continued, his expression softening momentarily. “Soon enough, I saw Rust land perfectly from the sky atop one of the high-rise buildings. He immediately ran down to meet me when he spotted me. I insisted we grab more valuables amid the chaos, but Rust argued that our lives were more important. I didn’t understand him then… until something blocked out the sun and landed on the planet, causing yet another shockwave,” Finn recounted, his voice heavy with the weight of the memory.

[Planet Tonare, Many Years Ago]

“Why don’t I test my weapon on you ants? Tek’rag couldn’t even satisfy me. Is there any man here who can?” Fate’s voice boomed across the crumbling landscape as the people of Planet Tonare scrambled to evacuate. Ships and cruisers filled the sky, desperate to flee the impending doom.

“Warning! This is a planetary crisis. You are advised to evacuate calmly. Warning! This is a…” The P.A. system’s message blared through the air, but the chaos on the ground drowned out the words as people fought to escape.

In a flash, multiple cruisers appeared behind Fate, travelling at light speed before opening fire on her. The sky lit up with explosions, but the onslaught did little to faze the giantess.

“Let’s go already! This is something we can’t face!” Rust urged, grabbing Finn’s arm as they prepared to flee. But Finn hesitated, his gaze locked on Fate. A low growl escaped him, drawing Fate’s attention.

For a moment, the world seemed to freeze as Fate turned her gaze toward Finn, ignoring the ships behind her. She raised her hand above shoulder level as if summoning something, all the while maintaining eye contact with him.

“ARE YOU INSANE? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!” Rust shouted, his voice filled with incredulity. At that time, Rust didn’t wear a mask, and his handsome features twisted in anger and bewilderment at Finn’s defiance.

“ARE YOU INSANE?” Varrick interrupted, snapping Finn out of his storytelling trance.

“Do you want me to stop?” Finn asked, raising an eyebrow. Varrick quickly shook his head, eager to hear more.

“Please, I just need one minute! I promise I’ll make it up to you,” Finn said before his body turned to ash and dispersed into the wind, leaving Fate momentarily stunned.

At that exact moment, the cruisers behind Fate exploded, their fiery demise heralded by a flying axe that effortlessly found its way into her outstretched hand.

“You’ll have to take the place of your friend,” Fate taunted, her voice laced with dark amusement.

“But you’re cute. I don’t like killing cute boys,” she teased, resting the axe on her shoulder as she eyed Rust.

Fate’s appearance was both imposing and alluring. She wore a low brown crop top that showcased her modest bosom, crafted from top-of-the-line fabric technology. A black-sheathed sword was strapped to her back, hidden beneath a long black jacket that concealed a multitude of gadgets. Her mini shorts revealed lustrous tan legs, while her armoured boots shifted shades of black with each passing second. Long black hair cascaded down her shoulders, framing her tan complexion—an unusual trait for a Tetramand, likely the result of the countless abilities she had absorbed during her genocidal conquests.

“You already have what you want. Why not leave ants like us alone?” Rust asked, trying to buy time as he engaged Fate in a desperate dialogue. It was all he could do now.

“That’s where you’re wrong, cutie,” Fate replied, her voice silky yet menacing. As she spoke, her size, clothes, and weapons shrank, bringing her to Rust’s height. He gulped nervously, feeling the full weight of her presence.

“I don’t have what I want yet,” Fate whispered, flicking her finger in Rust’s direction.

Rust initially thought she was merely toying with him, but a sharp wind suddenly brushed past him, slicing through his armoured clothing. He raised his left arm to shield his eyes from the dust, only to realize he couldn’t move it.

His eyes widened in horror as he tried to command his arm again, but there was no response. Keeping his gaze fixed on Fate, who stood several meters away, he finally understood—she had taken his arm with a single flick of her fingers.

In a flash, Fate appeared behind Rust, picking up his severed arm.

“Aren’t you forgetting something? Here, let me give you a hand,” she mocked, her voice dripping with sadistic glee.

Before Rust could react, Fate sent him flying with a powerful blow to his side, slamming him into a nearby building.

“Ack!” Rust cried out in pain, but he quickly slammed his remaining hand onto the ground. Purple inscriptions flared to life beneath him, causing the ground to rumble ominously.

Fate remained still, her expression one of delighted anticipation as she felt the tremors beneath her feet.

“I knew you were different. I’ve never fought anyone from your species before,” she said, her voice tinged with excitement.

Suddenly, magma erupted from the ground, taking the form of a massive golem that lunged at Fate without hesitation. Rust, coughing and struggling, tried to reattach his severed arm, though it was far from stable. He turned to face the source of the sudden light and saw Fate unleashing a devastating energy beam from her mouth, obliterating his magma golem in one fell swoop.

“No!” Rust screamed in agony, rushing toward Fate in a final, desperate attempt.

“Yes! Come to me!” Fate exclaimed, her arms open wide as her axe floated beside her, ready for the kill.

Rust’s eyes glowed white, and his skin began to crack as his speed increased exponentially. In an instant, he was upon Fate, his sudden burst of speed catching her off guard.

But just as he was about to strike, ashes enveloped Rust’s form, and he vanished before her eyes.

“What? Don’t you DARE! YOU BLOODY TEASE!!” Fate roared in fury, summoning her second axe as she returned to her giant form. Her head snapped left and right as she frantically searched for her prey.

Meanwhile, high above the clouds, Rust clung to Finn’s feet as they flew away from the planet. Two Tetramand females held onto Finn from either side, their faces pale with fear.

“You bastard! I was about to kill myself!” Rust cursed, his voice weak from blood loss.

“Is this what you wanted to bring along? You almost got me killed because of…” Rust’s voice trailed off as his strength began to fade.

“Oh, rest easy, friend. I owe you a lot!” Finn grinned, but his smile faltered as Fate’s massive form broke through the clouds, her enraged eyes locked onto them.

“Damn it!” Finn muttered, his heart pounding as Rust stirred awake once more, their escape far from assured.
