“Hold on I got it!” Kevin said as Ben's watch began to beep.
“Severe genetic damage detected.” A male mechanical voice could be heard from Ben’s Omnitrix.
“That’s what I was trying to say in simple English.” Kevin said removing his hand from Ken.
“Hello? Um, Omnitrix is that you?” Ben asked as if discovering a new species.
“Genetic-code-splicing error. Should we attempt to repair?” The Omnitrix asked.
“Try to fix Ken? Yeah, let’s do it!” Ben said, placing his hand on Ken’s head.
“Ben, what are you doing?” Gwen asked.
“I will let you know as soon as I am finished.” Ben said the DNAliens body began to squirm.
“That’s it! I knew it!” Kevin exclaimed, rushing over to an unconscious DNAlien. He allowed his nanites to interact with the creature, delving into its cellular structure.
Kevin could let his nanites act on them freely from a certain distance and could also manipulate them freely at a certain distance, but now he was in contact with a DNAlien and after confirming what he was about to do he let his nanites invade the DNAlien at a cellular level.
It felt like arranging a fairly easy puzzle as he reconstructed the cells and the DNAlien before him was no more but a human male in overalls who was still unconscious.
“THIS IS AMAZING!” Kevin exclaimed, raising his hands as if he had struck gold. The nanites converted every part of the DNAlien into usable energy, which Kevin absorbed. Fueled by this discovery, Kevin frantically approached the other unconscious DNAliens, turning them back into humans and absorbing their energy.
The nanites converted every being of the DNAlien into useful energy that Kevin welcomed. After doing that, Kevin rushed the knocked-out DNAliens like a madman, turning them back to humans and taking energy in return, he would even touch two at a time to make things faster.
Gwen, who had been focused on Ben and Ken, was now spellbound as she watched Kevin perform what seemed like miracles. Kevin’s laughter echoed through the air as he sped around, touching DNAlien after DNAlien, restoring them to their human forms.
Meanwhile, Ben opened his eyes to find the DNAlien parasite in his hand. More importantly, Ken was back to his human self.
“I’m going to need a manual for this thing,” Ben muttered, as Gwen turned to find her brother whole again.
“It’s okay, Ken. Everything’s going to be just fine,” Gwen reassured him, crouching beside him.
Ken was about to speak when comically evil laughter echoed from nearby.
“Are we in danger again?” Ken asked, panic in his voice.
“Oh, that’s just Kevin. He’s going a little crazy with that power,” Gwen answered with a deadpan expression.
Kevin, now using speed to zip around the facility, looked terrifying as he restored the DNAliens, his laughter ringing out as he worked.
“Whoa, how did he do that?” Ben asked, astonished.
Whatever. Nothing’s fine. I captured Grandpa… handed him over to them,” Ken began, his voice trembling. Gwen moved closer to comfort him.
“I-I couldn’t stop. It was like I was watching someone else,” Ken said, his voice full of regret.
“They have Grandpa Max?” Ben asked, his eyes widening in shock.
“That’s why they took me. They knew he would come for me. They needed him out of the way,” Ken explained, his voice full of dread.
“Their plan… it’s terrible,” Ken concluded, his expression one of hopelessness.
“Let’s go get him,” Ben said, standing up with renewed determination.
“I’m coming with you,” Ken said, his resolve strengthening as he rose to his feet.
“That was barely enough energy,” Kevin said, appearing before them. The sudden gust of wind from his arrival blew their hair and clothes back.
The group approached a large mechanical alien door. Before entering, they observed the surroundings for traps until they heard a familiar old voice.
“Ben?!”
“Grandpa Max!” Ben exclaimed cheerfully.
After losing allies and chasing endless leads, Ben could finally see his Grandpa again. Relief washed over him as he saw Grandpa Max’s warm smile, pride evident in his eyes.
“Oh, you’re a sight for sore eyes!” Grandpa Max said, his voice full of warmth. He was proud of his grandkids. One had resisted complete DNAlien assimilation, the other had tracked down clues he left in holoviewers, and now they were here to rescue him.
Gwen and Ben rushed to their Grandpa, hugging him tightly. Kevin and Ken walked forward to join the reunion.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” Gwen said, clinging to her Grandpa.
“Me too, honey. Kenny!” Grandpa Max called out to Ken, who hung his head in shame.
“I didn’t know what I was doing… I…” Ken stammered.
“It’s okay, Ken,” Grandpa Max reassured him, pulling him into a hug. “I’m proud of you... all of you,” he said, patting Ben’s shoulder.
“You look different, Kevin. I’ve been watching you. Be careful when dealing with those were—” Grandpa Max was cut off by a P.A. announcement initiating a code project.
The group ran to a nearby window and saw DNAliens outside, arranging and carrying Xenocites, preparing them for transport to multiple trucks parked and ready to go.
“Those Xenocites must be destroyed. Go!” Grandpa Max ordered.
“What are you going to do?” Ben asked, fearing it might be the last time he’d see his Grandpa.
“What I have to,” Grandpa Max replied with a determined smile.
As soon as the DNAliens noticed the group, Kevin swooped down at insane speeds, preventing them from spitting out the goo. He began ‘healing’ the DNAliens with fervour, restoring them to their human forms.
Ken grabbed a lead pipe and started fending off any DNAlien that approached him, while Ben transformed into Jetray and took to the skies. He rained down energy beams from his tail and eyes, bombarding the trucks below.
Gwen, meanwhile, unleashed her frustration on the DNAliens.
“You kidnapped my brother, turned him into a monster, captured my grandfather!” Gwen yelled, hovering above on a platform of her own creation. Her eyes glowed purple as she focused her mana, freezing her about-to-be victims in place.
“I HAVE HAD IT!” Gwen screamed, raining down purple energy beams on the DNAliens.
Kevin, however, rushed in to save a few DNAliens just to absorb their energy, though there was only so much he could do before Gwen buried them under piles of rubble.
