The Crazy Adventures of Kevin

 

 

FOOLISH PYRONITE.

 

 

“Grandpa Max is here?” Gwen asked Kevin with a look of uncertainty after seeing a hole in a small building.

 

Kevin scanned the area with his trained and advanced senses and nodded to himself.

 

“He is here?!” Ben raised his voice after seeing Kevin nod his head.

 

“No, but someone interesting was here. Let’s go inside and check things out.” Kevin said as the trio walked in through the hole.

 

‘It’s definitely someone or something that made this place hotter than usual.’ Kevin thought to himself.

 

“Aren’t you hot? Take off your jacket.” Gwen suggested after entering the place and feeling the heat.

 

Kevin mumbled something which caused Gwen to ask what he said which he answered,

“I said man’s not hot! Why are you telling me to take off the jacket, man’s not hot!” Kevin joked, as Gwen jokingly punched his shoulder.

 

“Did I miss something?” Ben asked.

 

“Oh, it’s just music. You don’t really listen to rap do you, Ben?” Gwen teased.

 

Ben was about to respond when Kevin alerted the group of a plumber badge beeping on a table.

“You think it belongs to Grandpa?” Gwen asked.

 

“If it does, he’s out there somewhere going after whoever made this hole.” Ben answered.

 

‘Why would they make their badges beep like this because another is close to it? That just ruins stealth missions, do they have to turn it off, or? It must be a really smart Galvan that made this nonsense.’ Kevin thought to himself as the trio entered the car and continued searching.

 

Kevin expanded his consciousness and couldn’t believe what he sensed! A Pyronite! And a foolish one at that! It appeared to be running from the sheriff's department but hid under a tractor! The alien is a walking ball of flames, it’s not that hard to find a very bright torch in a dense farmland. Although, given that the crops are over six feet tall and everywhere, they could obscure vision but that doesn’t mean the boy who shape-shifted into a Pyronite couldn’t just transform back to his base form and run away!

 

Kevin was at a loss for that kid and shook his head.

 

“Is everything okay?” Gwen asked, noticing Kevin’s pained expression.

 

“We will be seeing the culprit in the next minute, prepare for battle.” Kevin said as Gwen and Ben had resolute expressions.

 

Ben and Gwen were surprised to see an alien they knew too well as Heatblast being surrounded by men and women in uniform.

 

“STAY BACK!” The Pyronite shouted and a wave of flames burst out from his centre outwards in a circular manner causing a controlled explosion that knocked the officers unconscious.

 

“Amazing! He could have killed them! The heat from that alien is no joke!” Kevin commented as he turned off the car and got out with the rest.

 

“Are you okay?” The Pyronite asked as he approached the sheriff and attempted to touch him to check for a pulse or something.

 

“Is he nuts? No, I take that back, he is nuts! I guess the little kid wants to finish the job, haha! He wants to confirm the kill, haha!” Kevin laughed to himself as Gwen made a pink barrier that stopped the Pyronite from getting any closer to the sheriff.

 

“Little kid?” What do you mean? Ben asked.

 

“Yeah, that kid’s human, at least for the most part.” Kevin said with folded arms.

 

“He looks like heatblast!” Ben commented.

 

“I noticed. Want me to kick his butt for you, you know, to remind you of old times? Kevin asked with a jovial smile.

 

“No thanks.” Ben replied and slammed on his dial.

 

“JETRAY!” Ben said as he turned into a dark red humanoid manta ray alien with a long tail and flew towards the Pyronite, taking him down in the process. The Pyronite resisted and turned Ben upside down so he could be on top and flew away from Ben then high into the sky. An aerial battle began, leaving Kevin and Gwen below.

 

“So, how have you been?” Kevin asked.

 

“Nothing much, just school and karate I guess.” Gwen replied with a smile.

 

“Actually, what about you? How did you escape?” Gwen asked as Kevin’s expression turned dark. Memories of Khan and Fate almost killing him flashed through his mind.

 

“Oookay, let’s leave that for now. How have you been?” Gwen changed the subject since she sensed Kevin might not want to talk about it now.

 

“Oh, I became the god of one planet I happened to visit. Apparently, only I fit the description. Lots of beautiful girls there and…” Kevin said as he remembered his time on planet Sylvie but something told him he better change that topic fast but he couldn’t tell what it was.

 

Gwen took Kevin’s words as a joke until he mentioned lots of beautiful girls and she started losing interest in his conversation.

 

“Well, I guess you had a good time there. Why don’t you go back then?” Gwen said turning away from Kevin.

 

“Yes, I did have a good time. But I didn’t feel safe there, if I stayed there any longer I don’t know if I would be alive now.” Kevin said as he approached Gwen from behind and held her shoulders.

 

“W-what do you mean? If you are joking you should know when you have gotten too far!” Gwen said with her head down as she walked away from him.

 

“But it’s the truth! Geez, even after gaining near-infinite knowledge from the philosopher’s orb, I still don’t get women… or maybe I just need to dig deeper for knowledge regarding that… Nah. Isn’t Ben done fighting that noob already?” Kevin said to himself as he picked up a stone and poured some of his cultivated energy into it and took aim at the flying Pyronite.

 

The Pyronite charged a pillar of flames at Ben which Ben managed to block with lasers from his eyes and countered with a laser from his tail which ended the battle.

 

“Lucky boy, I guess Ben saved the day indeed.” Kevin said as he threw the stone in another direction. The stone flew at such speeds that a red halo covered it till the stone disintegrated before reaching ten thousand feet.
