The Crazy Adventures of Kevin

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE: THE BAD BOY IS BACK.

THE BAD BOY IS BACK.

As the morning sun rose in the sky, casting its golden rays through the billowing clouds, it hinted at the promise of a day ripe for mischief and adventure. Kevin drew in a deep breath, feeling the energy of the environment coursing through him. With his Chromatsone traits enhancing his energy cultivation technique, he found himself able to purify even the murkiest energies of Earth simply by breathing and walking.

Dressed in his signature long black jacket, which cascaded down to his knees, layered over a navy blue shirt, Kevin exuded an air of mysterious confidence. His necklace, adorned with dark starry crystals, caught the light in a mesmerizing display. Paired with his black pants, his ensemble spoke of sophistication and edge.

"I guess it's time to reconnect with some old acquaintances," Kevin mused to himself as he stepped out into the world.

"Strange. It just feels odd not to move without a car, not that I need it badly, but still…" Kevin's thoughts drifted as Raven, his trusted companion, connected to his mind via their established neuro link.

"Well, that can be arranged, Lord Kevin. You still have diamonds you haven't sold yet. I am sure they will fetch millions of dollars," Raven suggested, her voice echoing in Kevin's mind.

"No, it's fine. I have found a ride," Kevin replied with a smirk, his gaze falling on a sleek red Mustang parked a few houses away. Without hesitation, he made his way to the car, touching the crystal on his necklace with his index finger. With a surge of energy, he morphed his finger into a car key and effortlessly unlocked the vehicle, bypassing any security measures.

Sinking into the driver's seat with a contented sigh, Kevin savored the familiar sensation. "It's good to be back."

"Lord Kevin, you could have just asked me to open the car for you. I would have sent the correct electrical signals to render it open and ready to drive, or you could have used your Technomorph ability, sir," Raven chimed in, her observation from high up in the sky.

"And where's the fun in that, Raven? Learn to enjoy the little things, or how else are we going to appreciate them if you act all high and mighty?" Kevin retorted as he started the engine with a turn of the key in his hand.

"But we are allowed to act high and mighty. You wielded incredible power on planet Sylvie. You created me, amongst other things, and added to their dying planet a thousand years! That's enough time for the inhabitants to find another planet for the time being," Raven pointed out, her voice tinged with reverence.

"Key word—wielded," Kevin replied, his tone somber as he navigated the streets toward Ben's place.

"Correction, Lord Kevin. You still wield incredible power. You have me, and…" Raven began, but Kevin interrupted her with an authoritative tone in his thoughts.

"That reminds me. I have an assignment for you, Raven," Kevin interjected, his mind already racing with plans for the day.

"Yes, Lord Kevin, what will it be?" Raven replied ready for another assignment.

.

.

Thirty minutes later, Kevin pulled up to Ben's house at the driveway and honked for three seconds.

"Ben someone's outside." Ben's father said without looking away from the news on the TV, as Ben looked up from his cereal bowl.

"Wait a minute." Gwen said with her eyes glowing for a second, which didn't go unnoticed by Ben as he rushed his cereal to prepare for anything.

"I think it's Kevin outside… but there is something different… something I can't put my finger on just yet." Gwen said.

"Alright, it's about time we meet him anyway." Ben said as he got up from his chair.

"Alright Dad, I'll be leaving now with Gwen." Ben said as his dad nodded.

"Greet your parents for me. Oh, and tell your mom I am coming to see her tomorrow." Ben's mom chirped in.

"Alright, bye uncle, bye auntie," Gwen bid her farewell as her cousin reached for the door first.

Ben and Gwen readied themselves as they scanned around them but found a red Mustang packed near their driveway with no one inside it. They approached the car and Gwen's eyes glowed once again.

"He was here for sure." Gwen said as Ben looked at the car with a frown.

"Hello there, long time no see!"

Ben and Gwen were completely caught off guard as they were surprised someone could sneak up on them, especially in an open space in broad daylight. They of all people have gone above what regular humans can perceive and do, so any surprise like this really came as… wait for it… a surprise!

Ben was about to do a side jump, turn the dial on his watch, and slam it meanwhile, Gwen struck with her fist while observing a proper battle stance.

"What the? Is that you? Are you…" Ben was lost for words as he looked up at a boy he once saw as his enemy back in his human form. Last he saw him, Kevin was a mass of ten alien mutations mixed together in one body.

"Easy there, tiger," Kevin chuckled, his deep voice carrying a note of amusement as he gently halted Gwen's punch with a single finger.

Gwen looked at the figure before her and couldn't help but blush. She was glad that Kevin's fashion sense had upgraded along with his looks unlike before when he wore ripped clothes thinking it was cool. But she was also surprised that Kevin had gotten his human form back and he looked dashingly handsome.

Gwen, meanwhile, found herself blushing at Kevin's transformation. Gone were the ripped clothes and unkempt appearance; instead, he exuded an undeniable charm and sophistication that caught her off guard... Despite the changes, she couldn't deny that he looked strikingly handsome, and the dark crystals adorning his necklace caught her eye, glinting in the sunlight with an otherworldly allure.

"Get your hands off my cousin!" Ben demanded as he confirmed the person in front of him was in fact, Kevin.

"You don't look bad yourself." Kevin said to Gwen as he looked her in the eye and brought her hand down.

"Umm, well, I jog sometimes, so…" Gwen trailed off, her cheeks flushing as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Hey, Kevin! I am talking to you!" Ben's voice rose in frustration, his patience wearing thin as he pointed accusingly at Kevin.

"And I am talking to your cousin!" Kevin retorted, his gaze shifting to meet Ben's, a challenge glinting in his eyes.
