Chapter 17: chapter 17
Here's a possible POV for Xavier asking Eliana to drop him off:
As we walked out of the restaurant, I turned to Eliana and asked, "Would you mind dropping me off somewhere?"
Eliana's eyes narrowed slightly, and she hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Where do you need to go?"
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "I need to go to my place. It's not too far from here."
Eliana nodded, and we walked towards her car in silence. As we drove through the streets, I couldn't help but steal glances at Eliana. She was even more beautiful in the dim light of the car, and I found myself feeling drawn to her once again.
As we pulled up to my apartment building, I turned to Eliana and smiled. "Thanks for the ride. I appreciate it."
Eliana's eyes met mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of attraction there. But then she looked away, and I was left wondering if I had just imagined it.
"No problem," she said, her voice cool and detached. "I'll see you tomorrow, Xavier."
I nodded, feeling a sense of disappointment wash over me. I had been hoping that maybe, just maybe, Eliana would see me in a different light. But it seemed like that wasn't going to happen anytime soon.
I got out of the car and watched as Eliana drove away, feeling a sense of longing that I couldn't shake.
Elvis POV:
I was walking out of the convenience store when I saw Eliana's car pull up to the curb. I raised an eyebrow as I watched Xavier get out of the car, a smile on his face as he thanked Eliana for the ride.
My eyes narrowed slightly as I watched the exchange. What was going on here? I knew that Xavier and Eliana had a history, but I hadn't realized that they were still in touch.
As Eliana drove away, I turned my attention to Xavier, who was watching her car disappear into the distance. He looked lost in thought, a mixture of emotions playing on his face.
I walked over to him, a question forming on my lips. "Hey, man. What's going on?"
Xavier turned to me, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "Just getting a ride from Eliana," he said, his voice casual.
I raised an eyebrow. "A ride? That's all?"
Xavier's grin faltered, and he looked away, his eyes scanning the horizon. "That's all," he repeated, his voice firm.
I studied him for a moment, trying to read between the lines. There was something going on here, something that Xavier wasn't telling me. And I was determined to find out what it was.
