The Domineering Female CEO

Chapter 22: chapter 22

Xavier's POV:

I walked into the office building, Elvis by my side. We were here to see Eliana and Royalty, and I was feeling a mix of emotions. I was nervous about how Eliana would react to seeing me, but I was also determined to apologize and make things right.

As we approached the reception desk, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. What if Eliana didn't want to see me? What if she was still angry about what had happened?

The receptionist looked up at us and smiled. "Can I help you?"

I took a deep breath. "We're here to see Eliana and Royalty."

The receptionist nodded and picked up the phone. "Let me just check if they're available."

A few minutes later, she hung up the phone and looked at us with a sympathetic expression. "I'm sorry, gentlemen. Eliana and Royalty are busy with a meeting and can't see you right now."

I felt a pang of disappointment, but I refused to give up. "Can we wait?" I asked.

The receptionist hesitated. "I'm afraid not. They're not expecting to be available for the rest of the day."

I nodded, feeling a sense of frustration. I had been so sure that I could apologize and make things right with Eliana.

Elvis clapped me on the back. "Don't worry, man. We'll try again another time."

I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards my friend. Maybe he was right. Maybe we just needed to try again another time.

Elvis' POV:

I watched as Xavier's face fell when the receptionist told us that Eliana and Royalty were busy. I could tell that he was disappointed, and I felt a pang of sympathy for him.

I clapped him on the back. "Don't worry, man. We'll try again another time."

Xavier nodded, looking determined. "Yeah, we will."

As we walked out of the office building, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment myself. I had been looking forward to seeing Royalty again, and now it seemed like that wasn't going to happen.

But I refused to give up. I was determined to see Royalty again, and I was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen.

Eliana's POV:

I sat at my desk, staring blankly at my computer screen as I tried to focus on the task at hand. But my mind kept wandering back to my personal life.

Just then, Royalty walked into the office, a sly grin spreading across her face. "Hey, girl. How's it going?"

I shrugged, feeling a little frustrated. "It's going. Just trying to get some work done."

Royalty nodded sympathetically. "I know how that is. But I have to remind you of something."

I raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"

Royalty's grin grew wider. "It's been 3 months already, Eliana. And you still need to find a contract husband."

I felt a pang of anxiety at her words. My father's will had stipulated that I needed to be married within 6 months of his passing in order to inherit his wealth fully. If I didn't find a husband, my stepmother and stepsister would get everything.

I sighed, feeling a little overwhelmed. "I know, Royalty. I'm trying."

Royalty nodded encouragingly. "I know you are, girl. But you need to step it up. You can't let your stepmother and stepsister get their hands on your father's wealth."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination. Royalty was right. I needed to find a contract husband, and fast.
