The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Noble Morals

Pei Guang's phone rang, and when he opened it, he saw it was a message from Stelle.

Stelle: "Is this the treasure chest you mentioned earlier?"

-Image of a treasure chest.-

Seeing the image, Pei Guang, who was on his way to complete a task with March 7th, quickly replied.

"Yes! But remember, always knock on a treasure chest first because it could be a mimic. Also, the NPCs in this instance aren't very friendly. Sometimes they'll use fake chests to trick you."

Stelle: "Got it! Just open it directly?"

Pei Guang: "Yes, just open it, but there's also a chance it could be a locked chest that requires a password. Damn! I can't believe you, a newbie, found a treasure chest before me."

Stelle: "I opened the treasure chest, and inside were some Herta coins, materials, and items... a Light Cone?"

Pei Guang: "Keep all the materials, items, and equipment. They can be used as fodder later on. When I get back, I'll see if I have any blueprints for equipment synthesis or enhancement methods. I'll enchant your baseball bat."

While Pei Guang quickly replied, March 7th, who was beside him, noticed he had stopped and curiously asked, "Who are you chatting with?"

"Stelle. In some ways, we could be considered from the same birth place."

"You know Stelle's identity?" March 7th asked in surprise.

Pei Guang shook his head, "How would I know her real identity? Finding out through illegal channels is against the law. We can't do that! But speaking of which, I'm really happy that there are treasure chests in this space station."

A game, whether real or not, wouldn't be complete without treasure chests. It doesn't matter if the items inside are useful or not: he just enjoys the thrill of opening them. If the items are useless, he curses; if they're useful, he gets excited.

The two chatted and laughed as they headed to other floors, ready to complete the task Arlan had mentioned. But as they walked, March 7th noticed that Pei Guang had stopped again.

"What did you see this time?"

Following Pei Guang's gaze, she spotted a robot floating in the corner.

A very ordinary little robot, providing very ordinary services to the space station. Pei Guang noticed a button on the robot, which seemed to be its power switch.

"What's this?"

March 7th also curiously approached and studied it, saying, "This looks like a service robot? Wait, what are you going to do?"

Just as she asked, he pressed the power button.

Pei Guang said righteously, "This little robot has been on standby for a long time, so I'm helping it enter sleep mode in order to save energy for the space station! Although it doesn't save much energy, I'm proud of it!"

"?!"

March 7th widened her eyes, her mouth opening in shock. If anyone else had said that, she would have thought it was a prank. But clearly, Pei Guang was genuinely proud, as if he had done something truly good.

But...

"Could you be wrong? Does this really need to be turned off?"

Pei Guang interrupted March 7th, "Of course! You need to trust my experience. My morals and ideas are unparalleled."

With his years of gaming experience, Pei Guang instantly realized that this little robot might be part of a hidden quest. Later, he would likely encounter an event where he would need to turn off unused robots to save energy for the space station. Rather than wait for the quest, he decided to do it now, so he could collect the reward immediately when the task appeared!

Thinking this, the experienced Pei Guang said, "There should be more of these little robots around. Let's turn them off along the way!"

Pei Guang also shared the task with Stelle, who, after seeing the text and images he sent, suddenly understood.

On her way back, not only did she open several treasure chests, but she also noticed these small white robots. They weren't being used, had no real function, and were just sitting there.

Since this action could earn praise, Stelle suddenly realized what she needed to do.

She then approached the nearest robot and reached out to forcibly turn it off. At that moment, she proudly puffed out her chest, feeling accomplished for helping the space station save energy during difficult times.

At the same time, Stelle replied to Pei Guang: "I turned one off too. Do you think our tasks are linked?"

Pei Guang pondered: "I think they are linked. After all, it's a cooperative world task. If we complete it together, we can collect the reward. March 7th and I will handle the outside, and you take care of the safe zone."

Stelle: "Leave it to me!"

Pei Guang: "I commend your high morals."

Stelle: "You flatter me! It's all thanks to what you taught me. When it comes to morals, you're still better."

Although they were in different places, they both wore confident smiles, their chests puffed out with pride.

After turning off two more robots, Stelle noticed Asta looking at her phone. At first, she seemed fine, but she then frowned and shook her phone.

As Asta grumbled about not being able to quickly clear her shopping cart, she heard footsteps and greeted Stelle, "Hello there!"

"Hello."

Stelle greeted her back warmly and noticed Asta's somewhat annoyed expression, asking, "Is there anything I can help with?"

Stelle, influenced by Pei Guang, now believed that helping people to earn rewards was a very enjoyable thing. Although she didn't quite understand the value of the items in the treasure chests or the rewards others gave her, she didn't hesitate to imitate the behavior.

Asta shook her head, "I'm not sure, the signal just suddenly got weaker. I'll have an engineer check it. By the way... there's a service terminal not far from here. Did you notice anything unusual when you walked over?"

"No, nothing."

Stelle tried to recall what she had seen on her way over—nothing unusual. The staff were working normally, the treasure chest items were plentiful, and she even turned off two small robots to help the space station.

Asta: "That's good. Maybe the instability was caused by the Antimatter Legion. I'll have an engineer check it out."

A few minutes later, a maintenance engineer at the Herta Space Station arrived at the robot that Stelle had turned off. He inspected the robot from top to bottom, inside and out, because the station chief had instructed him to be thorough. But after checking everything, his face turned dark: "Who's the jerk that turned off this little robot?!"

The maintenance engineer silently cursed. He already had a lot of work, and now someone had gone and turned this thing off, adding to his workload. The little robot was like a Wi-Fi terminal, ensuring everyone could stay connected and quickly access essentials.

Usually, there's one little robot per area, and even turning just one off would significantly reduce the quality of life for everyone in that zone.

Neither Pei Guang nor Stelle realized what they had done.
