The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Facing the Antimatter Legion – A Stealthy Execution

"This is a closed space! Looks like I need to use my brain to open the room and progress to the next part of the storyline."

"What should I do?"

Pei Guang bounced around, studying the area. He discovered something resembling a control panel. Based on his gaming experience, this thing should be able to open the door.

He tapped on it, but the door didn't open. He searched for a password but found nothing.

"How do I open this door? Wait!"

Suddenly, Pei Guang had an idea. He took out his wooden sword and started swinging it at the sealed door. Meanwhile, March 7th walked over to the door, just about to open it, when something shocking happened.

"Wait, what are you doing?"

"Opening the door!"

March 7th stared wide-eyed at the shattered door and asked, "How did you break it?"

Pei Guang, noticing March 7th's reaction, marveled at the game's realism. "I just gave it a few whacks with this, and it opened!"

With that, Pei Guang continued his exploration. He really liked the sci-fi setting, especially the spaceship-like environment, which made him eager to investigate further.

"???"

March 7th slowly raised a question mark over her head. Seeing Pei Guang charge forward, she hurried to stop him, "Be careful, ahead there's... the Antimatter Legion…"

In March 7th's view, Pei Guang crouched down and made a silencing gesture. "Didn't you see the monsters?"

"?"

March 7th wanted to retort, but seeing the three monsters guarding the entrance ahead, she decided to strike first.

Meanwhile, Pei Guang inspected the situation with his wooden sword in hand. "This should be the beginner's level. The monsters here shouldn't be too strong. Oh, I remember he mentioned stitching a few games together? So, does that include stealth mechanics? But how do you even stealth here? Hmm, three monsters—one eyeball and two cross-shaped?"

Faced with an enemy wielding dual blades, Pei Guang couldn't help but think of a high-ranking priest. It's a pity he wasn't a machine gunner; otherwise, he'd feel confident enough to kite the two crosses to death.

Recalling his conversations with online friends who played similar games, Pei Guang considered how to use stealth in this realistic mode. Naturally, you avoid the enemy's sight and then launch a lethal strike, right?

So, under the watchful eyes of the three Antimatter Legion soldiers, Pei Guang boldly and slowly approached the eyeball-like creature. His behavior was so abstract that even the monsters of the Antimatter Legion didn't realize what he was up to.

March 7th was also stunned. The enemies clearly saw Pei Guang, yet they didn't attack? This left her unsure whether to strike.

"Righteous Backstab!"

Just as he entered the attack range, Pei Guang suddenly sprang up and stabbed at the center of the eyeball-like monster. Being a seasoned player of many games with complex mechanics, he knew that the more realistic a game is, the higher the damage when attacking weak points. He aimed the wooden sword precisely for a critical hit.

As the two cross-shaped monsters attacked simultaneously, Pei Guang rolled to dodge their strikes.

At the same time, March 7th reacted quickly, drawing her bow and shooting at one of the enemies.

The ice-element arrow instantly froze one of them, while Pei Guang analyzed the situation.

"Looks like this teammate can force a one-on-one scenario for me! Hehe, I might lose 1v2, but even a Valkyrie has to fall in a 1v1 against me. Watch my special move! Parry!"

The remaining enemy launched an attack at Pei Guang, but just as the strike was about to hit, Pei Guang raised his wooden sword to block.

A crisp sound of the parry echoed as the enemy's weapon was deflected. With the enemy exposed, Pei Guang attempted an execution. Although he didn't have any special skills, he tried to stab the wooden sword in, and to his surprise, it worked.

"Die!"

As the wooden sword plunged into the enemy's body, Pei Guang kicked them off his weapon. Simultaneously, March 7th finished off the enemy she had frozen.

"Not bad, you've got some skills."

March 7th was about to praise him when she saw Pei Guang crouching down, sneaking toward another enemy.

She quickly warned, "Hey! Not that way, follow me."

Pei Guang thought, "Looks like I have to stick with the NPC, or else I might fail the mission? Damn it! Why aren't there any mission prompts? Fine, I'll follow the NPC for now."

Hearing this, March 7th's eyes glinted as she seriously said, "Yes, if you don't follow me, you'll fail the mission. And if you fail, there'll be no rewards."

Considering this, Pei Guang decided to follow March 7th. They entered a spacious area, and upon seeing the enormous structure within, Pei Guang was awestruck.

"No wonder it's a full immersion game; this feels so real!"

March 7th felt exhausted. She could only pray that this strange man wouldn't do anything ridiculous. Reflecting on the last few minutes...

"So, what's your name?"

"Me? Oh right, I haven't chosen a name yet. Just call me Pei Guang."

March 7th nodded, "Alright, alright. Later, we'll take that central elevator down to the main control deck. I'll need your help dealing with the enemies along the way."

March 7th spoke as if she were coaxing a child, but she didn't expect Pei Guang to get excited when he heard her.

Pei Guang: "Is this a main quest? Oh, wow! The main quest actually has prompts? Let me see... Three waves of monsters? That's tough. Heh, there are crates and pots here; let me smash them and see what I get."

Pei Guang raised his wooden sword, ready to smash the pot beside him. Seeing this, March 7th shouted, "Stop! Spare the pot!"

"Huh?"

Pei Guang instinctively paused, and seeing that this tactic worked, March 7th seriously said, "If you do that, I'll get mad!"

"Oh no! This behavior might decrease the NPC's favorability!"

March 7th sternly followed up on his words, criticizing, "If you keep this up, I'll be very angry, extremely angry. I won't ever forgive your earlier rude behavior!"

Pei Guang thought to himself, "This NPC reacts so strongly, looks like I shouldn't mess around. Fine, I'll start attacking the monsters instead. I'll stealth my way over and keep slashing."

So, under March 7th's watchful eye, Pei Guang crouched down and continued stealthily moving forward. She was curious to see if the Antimatter Legion's soldiers would ignore Pei Guang just like before.

As expected, the situation played out exactly as she predicted. Pei Guang, under the gaze of four Antimatter Legion enemies, boldly walked up to one of the eyeball-like creatures and shouted, "Execution!"

This time, Pei Guang skillfully plunged the wooden sword into the creature. As he did, two sounds echoed nearby: two humanoid monsters had their movements slowed by ice arrows, while Pei Guang turned to another eyeball-like monster and stabbed it with his wooden sword.

"Two down!"

As the eyeball disappeared, he sensed an attack coming his way and quickly raised his weapon to parry.

With a perfect parry, the cross-shaped enemy's attack was deflected. Just as he was about to complete another move, Pei Guang realized something crucial: in this game, executions didn't seem to have invincibility frames!
