Chapter 300: Chapter 299: Pei Guang’s Loot is Safe but March’s Dignity Isn’t
Watching Pom-Pom happily setting up its display, March 7th's expression grew more serious.
Her mind drifted back to Pei Guang's words at the Divination Commission—when he had casually said, "I'll take them all."
At first, March 7th had just dismissed it as one of Pei Guang's usual weird remarks. But after seeing how generous he was with Pom-Pom, and thinking back to how Blade had reacted around him, her expression darkened even more.
Her imagination spiraled out of control as she stared at Pom-Pom.
It used to look cute and harmless. But now…
"No way… There's no way someone would be that messed up… with Pom-Pom…"
March 7th's eyes widened in shock. Before meeting Pei Guang, she'd never have had thoughts like this. But after spending time around him and analyzing the way he spoke, she started to feel like—somewhere in this universe—there really could be people interested in Pom-Pom.
Hell, Pom-Pom might even rank pretty high on certain questionable websites.
Shaking her head furiously, she tried to banish the terrible thoughts from her mind.
"Where did I even learn this kind of thinking? Ugh—it has to be Ah Guang's fault!"
She confidently pinned the blame on Pei Guang, and honestly, she wasn't wrong to do so.
After all, as a player—especially one who had played various dating sims—Pei Guang wasn't exactly picky about whether someone was "human" or not…
That said, his preferences were strictly limited to the virtual world. In this very real world, he still preferred humanoid and aesthetically pleasing women.
Pom-Pom happily displayed the souvenir Pei Guang had gifted it. As for whether the Arbor fruit might attract followers of Abundance or other troublemakers in the future? Again, Pom-Pom wasn't concerned in the slightest.
Without Pei Guang, Akivili's train was already untouchable—no one could keep up with it. And with Pei Guang on board? Well, they might as well consider whether they could outrun the Express first.
See the Xianzhou? The last faction that tried messing with the Trailblazers ended up with their leader's head mounted on the prow.
After setting up the display, Pei Guang, Stelle, and March 7th decided to return to their rooms to rest. The Express would remain docked at the Xianzhou for seven days, and all three were eager to explore as much as they could during their stay.
Of course, everyone had their own plans for how to spend the time.
Welt, for example, teamed up with the Cloud Knights after exchanging intel with Himeko. He went off to help search for remnants of the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus or Fragmentum creatures spawned by the Stellaron.
He insisted he wasn't much of a fighter—but his giant robot companion certainly was. And as someone who couldn't resist the allure of big mechas, especially combat-ready ones, Welt was practically living his dream.
Dan Heng, meanwhile, chose to remain on the Xianzhou for a while to study medicine under Bailu.
As a Trailblazer, he'd inevitably have to travel across countless worlds, but he felt the Express didn't just need more fighters—it needed a skilled medic.
Given his heritage as a Vidyadhara and his partial connection to dragon-like powers, Dan Heng believed learning medicine would make him far more useful to the team.
Seele's plans were much more straightforward. After confirming she had some free time, she immediately returned to Belobog.
She brought back public resources she'd obtained from the Xianzhou—medical knowledge, technological advancements, and cultural insights—along with a large supply of essential materials.
Her hometown, and Bronya especially, needed all the help they could get.
And Silver Wolf? She used the chaos of Kafka and Blade's "capture" to sneak them to a safe location while the Cloud Knights were distracted.
Everyone had something to do.
As for Pei Guang? His plan was simple—rest, organize his inventory, and then head to Herta's Space Station to test out the so-called "realistic game experience."
Inside his room, Pei Guang sat cross-legged on the floor, staring blankly at the ceiling.
He wasn't lost in thought or reflecting on life. Instead, he was browsing through his system menu—reviewing skills, checking notifications, and reorganizing his inventory.
Pei Guang's journey through Xianzhou had been incredibly rewarding. Skills, equipment, and items—he'd raked in quite the haul.
The only disappointment? His beginner's sword didn't level up.
Seriously—his first dungeon had leveled up his weapon, but this time, after taking down a massive boss, nothing happened. That really stung.
Even so, Pei Guang continued cheerfully sorting through his loot, admiring system-recorded highlights and achievements as time slipped by.
In the room next door, Stelle collapsed onto her bed and immediately fell into a deep sleep.
Even though their time on the Xianzhou seemed short—barely more than a day—it felt like an exhausting forty or fifty days to her.
From the moment she woke up until now, not even a month had passed, yet Stelle felt as if she had already lived through three or four months' worth of events.
The exhaustion seeped into her body, leaving her feeling lazy and unmotivated. Lying on the soft bed, she rolled to the left, then to the right, before settling into a comfortable position and closing her eyes.
However, just as she was about to fully enjoy this rare moment of peace, she faintly heard footsteps in the hallway.
The steps were light—so light that it sounded as if someone was sneaking around, trying to avoid being noticed.
Hearing this sound, Stelle's mind raced. The soft, deliberate footsteps gave her the impression that someone—or something—was hiding, lurking, waiting for the right moment to act.
Something exciting was about to happen. Stelle felt that familiar thrill—the kind that signaled danger and adventure. She instinctively sensed that a sinister force was trying to steal her treasure.
As a Trailblazer, how could she let anyone lay their hands on her treasures?
No way was she going to let some evil force wreak havoc on the Express, her home—and also the home of March 7th and Pei Guang.
Someone dared to target her home? She'd make them learn firsthand how devastating a flaming lance charge could be.
Judging from the direction of the footsteps, Stelle quickly concluded that the intruder was headed toward Pei Guang's room.
The moment Pei Guang came to mind, Stelle's eyes narrowed sharply. She knew one thing—he was the wealthiest person on the entire train.
"So that's it! The target is Ah Guang?!"
In Stelle's mind, this sinister force had to be one of the Lord Ravager's minions. It was out for revenge, planning to ambush Pei Guang in his sleep.
She couldn't stand it any longer. Stelle shot out of bed, silently crept to the door, and prepared to confront the intruder.
The person outside had no idea Stelle was already moving. They carefully approached Pei Guang's room and even opened the door.
Just as they were about to enter, Stelle sprang into action.
"Vile fiend! You dare lay a hand on my comrade? Die!!!"
Stelle burst out, swinging her bat—but froze mid-swing the moment she saw who it was:
March!
March 7th, who had just opened Pei Guang's door, also froze.
Their eyes met, and in an instant, she reached out and covered Stelle's mouth.
"Shh!!!"
She had never expected Stelle to wake up. She had carefully waited until she was fast asleep before sneaking over to Pei Guang's room to check if he was awake—and maybe chat for a bit.
But before she could even step inside, Stelle caught her in the act?!
At that moment, March 7th felt nothing but despair.
