The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 30: A Trip to France

More than two weeks passed quickly. Lynn and Gale worked together to take care of Rolle Manor. They removed all the weeds outside the castle and planted fresh green plants.

At that moment, Lynn and Rowena were waiting for Professor Green in the living room on the first floor of the castle. Gale was holding a tray with fruits and chilled water on the side to entertain any incoming guests.

Soon, with a blast of air, a figure appeared at the door of the castle.

Lynn quickly stepped forward and opened the castle door.

It was Professor Green standing at the door.

"Lynn, I'm here to pick you up!"

Professor Green ruffled Lynn's hair and took the cup of cold water from the tray Gale was holding.

The professor took a sip and then looked at Rowena in the living room. He gave a slight bow and said, "Hello, Mrs. Rolle!"

Rowena also nodded slightly and softly replied, "Professor Green, I leave my Lynn in your care."

The professor responded with a smile.

After bidding farewell to his mother, Lynn grabbed Professor Green's arm.

There was another blast of gas, and Lynn disappeared from the spot.

At the same time, two figures appeared on top of a mountain many kilometers away.

Lynn's body swayed slightly, and he felt the need to vomit.

Obviously, this was Apparition, but when Professor Green used Apparition to bring people and followers along, the experience was much worse than the Apparition performed by the house-elf!

"I originally planned to take you to France using Muggle transport, but the situation changed, and we would have been caught in time, so I chose the Portkey," said Professor Green, pointing to a worn ceramic bowl not far away.

Clearly, this ancient ceramic bowl was the key to this trip.

A Portkey is a magical object that can transfer people quickly from one place to another. Its appearance is usually unremarkable, such as broken wheels or empty medicine bottles, but when special magic is cast on it, it can transport people across time and space.

Portkeys are more stable than Apparition when traveling long distances, especially across continents.

The Portkey Office at the Ministry of Magic has very strict regulations regarding the use of Portkeys. Wizards must apply and register with the Ministry of Magic before creating Portkeys. Those who use illegal Portkeys are subject to arrest by the Ministry of Magic.

Professor Green smiled and said, "Getting approval for a transcontinental Portkey is very difficult, and it took me a lot of effort to get it."

Only a few minutes remained before the Portkey would activate. Professor Green and Lynn placed a finger on the worn ceramic bowl, waiting for the Portkey to activate.

Soon, Lynn felt as though there was a hook behind his belly button pulling him forward with an irresistible force. Then, Lynn felt his feet leave the ground, and he was flying upward, like a gust of wind. He couldn't clearly see anything in front of him.

In an instant, Lynn fell through the air, and the scene in front of him changed.

Not far from Professor Green and Lynn, there was a street that seemed similar to Diagon Alley in the French wizarding world. Wizards came and went, holding various magical items.

Professor Green smiled slightly and introduced it to Lynn: "This is the largest commercial street in the magical world of France, called Magic Gold Street. As you can see from the name, it combines the magical word 'magic' and the alchemical word 'gold.' You should be able to tell that French wizards place great importance on alchemy. It can be said that in our French wizarding world, the status of powerful alchemists is equal to that of skilled wizards."

Lynn nodded slightly, taking in the surroundings.

Unlike the retro decoration of Diagon Alley, this Magic Gold Street had a more modern atmosphere. French wizards, being more enlightened, didn't mind borrowing some Muggle ideas. Many alchemical products were based on Muggle daily needs.

Professor Green took Lynn on a tour of Magic Gold Street. During this time, Lynn found some interesting alchemical products, and Professor Green bought them without hesitation and gave them to Lynn.

Although Professor Green knew that Lynn wasn't short of money, as an alchemist, he probably had as much or more wealth than Lynn.

"At the end of today's tour, I plan to take you to a shop. You might find it interesting!" said Professor Green, leading Lynn to the end of Magic Gold Street.

They arrived at a small shop filled with a mysterious atmosphere. The storefront was so small that it was difficult for two wizards to enter side by side.

Yet, despite such a small shop, a large number of wizards were queuing to enter. The interior of the shop, however, could accommodate them!

Lynn suddenly seemed to have an idea and showed a look of realization.

Because the alchemical products in this Magic Gold Street were so abundant, Lynn always thought of alchemy when encountering strange items and wondered what kind of alchemy could cause such phenomena.

But for a moment, he forgot that the essence of a wizard is still magic. The space inside and outside the shop didn't match. It was obvious that an invisibility-enhancing stretching charm had been cast on the shop.

Even Newt Scamander's suitcase, after casting an invisible stretching charm, has an interior space equivalent to a small village, let alone a shop.

Professor Green and Lynn walked to the end of the line and entered the shop in order.

As expected, the inside of the shop looked like a vast cave. It was like a large square. Various alchemical products were displayed in booths. These alchemical items were protected by a curtain of light emanating from the booths.

"This is the largest commercial platform on Magic Street. Here, you can buy most of the alchemical products refined by French alchemists. You can also exchange your alchemical products. You can sell your alchemical items to the officials here, who will appraise them and convert them into gold Galleons before purchasing them. You can also put your alchemical items on display and trade them fairly with other alchemists," Professor Green introduced the place to Lynn.

Lynn looked at the reception area nearby. Many alchemists were standing there, and inside the reception area, more than a dozen officials were present. After appraising the value, they handed over the gold Galleons to the alchemist who provided the alchemical items. These alchemists left immediately after receiving the Galleons.

In front of the stands containing alchemical products, some alchemists made deals with the shop owner. After handing over their own alchemical products, they took the alchemical items from the stand where the light curtain disappeared.
