Chapter 19: Inside the Spikes
Snorter, Bird, Hoofa, and Gumpton (the former latter of which was on top of the latter latter) were flying through the air helplessly because they were inside of a sandstorm. They were all screaming because there was nothing else they could do.
Meanwhile, Mushpuff, Plagiarize, and Klumpkrump were sitting in their cage when all of a sudden a gust of sand blew by and they were blinded for a few seconds. In the midst of the sand gust, they heard screaming and the banging of metal. When it was over and they could see, Snorter, Bird, Hoofa, and Gumpton were inside the cage with them.
“Fancy seeing you here,” said Bird to the other half of the gang.
“Likewise,” said Mushpuff, who was in the other half of the gang.
“Is this the other half of the group I have heard so much about??” asked Klumpkrump.
“Who?” asked every member of the other other half of the gang, all of them pointing at Klumpkrump, a member of the other half of the gang.
“Klumpkrump,” said Mushpuff.
“Oh, okay,” said the other half of the gang, except they all said it one after another in an unspecified order.
As the flamingos continued to carry their cage closer and closer to the spikes in the distance, all the members of the gang told each other about all their adventures. Each half told the other half what they missed, and the other other half told the other half the story of Klumpkrump. By the time they finished, they were at the front entrance of the spikes.
“Okay everyone get outta the cage,” said one of the flamingos. The cage was forcefully dropped and then it was opened and the gang got out. “Now you must follow us.”
Each member of the gang was handcuffed to another member of the gang. However, these handcuffs were not in a straight line - they were handcuffed in a completely random way and so they were in a very awkward tangle as the flamingos led them to the front door of the center spike. The door slid away in a very satisfying fashion and they were led inside. In the spike was a very fancy, shiny, well-decorated lobby that looked like it belonged in a hotel. The floor was made of some sort of shiny stone in intricate patterns and there were white pillars along the sides of the room.
The flamingos led them to the side of the room, where an elevator was located. They all got in (it was very crammed in there), and they all rode up to floor 190. When they finally reached floor 190, the gang was pushed down a long winding hall with many doors leading off of it, their handcuffs were removed, and then they (the gang, not the handcuffs) were shoved into one of the rooms. It was a simple hotel room, except all the windows were barred. The windows were scary to look out because of the fact they were on floor 190.
“What sort of prison is this?” asked Hoofa, who was still riding Gumpton.
“ICE CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM!!!” screamed Klumpkrump, who had found the ice cream dispenser in the bathroom.
All the other members of the gang screamed and stampeded into the bathroom, where they dispensed and ate so much ice cream that by the time they had finished tasting all the flavors, 3 hours had passed.
“Oh my god that ice cream was all so good,” said Plagiarize, “Except for the crayon flavor. That was not as good.”
“Really? I quite liked that one,” said Snorter.
Just then there was a knock on the door of their hotel room, and Bird was sent to answer it because they all played rock paper scissors and Bird was the ultimate loser. When Bird opened the door, a flamingo was behind it.
“Gather all your fellow inmates,” said the flamingo. “It’s time for you to start working.”
“Working on what?” asked the penguin.
“All shall be explained once you arrive on the site of the job.”
Bird gathered the rest of the gang and they were all taken to the elevator. This elevator ride took them to floor negative 20, and to reach it faster, the elevator simply fell and slowly decelerated when it got close to the bottom for a smooth landing. When the doors opened, an unexpected sight was before them.
