Bai Lung chuckled at the disciples’ banter, amused by their commentary.
He appreciated the compliment from the first disciple, and he couldn’t help but smirk when some of them spoke out against the arrogant disciple.
It was refreshing to see such honesty and bravery in the face of authority.
“Wise words,” Bai Lung said, nodding in approval. “It’s important to speak your mind and not be intimidated by those in power,”
He glanced at the holy disciple and smiled.
“And I suppose, sometimes it takes a junior to help where others cannot,”
The audacity!!!
The holy disciple grumbled under his breath, not taking kindly to Bai Lung’s words.
He crossed his arms and scowled at the junior disciple, clearly bothered by his audacity. “You’re quite bold… Good! Very Good!”Bai Lung raised an eyebrow and smirked, unbothered by the holy disciple’s reaction.
He could sense the man’s irritation and knew he had hit a nerve.
“I am simply stating the facts,” he replied, his tone nonchalant.
“I am not here to mince words or appease anyone’s ego. If the truth hurts, then that’s not my problem… Shove it up your ass,”
The holy disciple clenched his jaw, his expression darkening. “You’re getting cocky, junior… Don’t forget your place.”
But Bai Lung just shrugged, his smirk growing wider.
“And your place is to follow orders and give commands, isn’t it? Sounds like a boring existence if you ask me,”
Just then,
‘Sigh! Don’t create any more trouble…’
Qing Li transferred her thoughts to Bai Ling with Qi.
Bai Lung’s smirk faded as he heard the voice in his mind, realizing that it was time to move forward and not create some means here.
After all, A stitch in time saves nine.
“Alright, enough chit-chat,” he said firmly, addressing the group as if he were the alpha of the pack.
“There’s no point in wasting time bickering. We need to move forward and be careful, others might catch up soon and we haven’t discovered any treasures… ”
The holy disciple glared at Bai Lung for a moment, clearly still annoyed by his earlier remark.
However, he didn’t say anything and just huffed quietly.
The tension between the two was palpable, but the rest of the group seemed relieved to hear Bai Lung’s words.
They knew it was time to move forward and focus on the task at hand after all, if these two fought among themselves, their group could only be slowed, moving at the pace of a snail.
…
Boom! Baaam!
With a treasure… Capable of producing celestial light, that can even penetrate the light-eating void.
All the void spiders were cleared, all the is to Qing Li’s friend.
As they continued further into the tomb, the atmosphere grew even more ominous and oppressive.
Tak! Tak!
The group moved carefully not to get caught in traps, their footsteps echoing softly against the ancient stone walls, glowing with some eerie runes.
The Tomb was no joke,
The only other sound was the faint, rhythmic hum of the Void Qi circulating through the air.
The tension was thick, as everyone was on high alert for any signs of danger as they all knew they were in a dangerous place, filled with unknown threats and traps.
Suddenly, they arrived at a ‘fork’ in the path. Two narrow corridors stretched out in opposite directions, each seemingly leading deeper into the tomb.
One may have more treasure compared to others… As for Bai Lung, the question was which path would lead him to the nameless sword.
Bai Lung paused, his eyes flickering between the two paths.
He could sense a subtle difference in the energy coming from each direction, but it was hard to say which one was the safer route and which one had the thing he needed.
He didn’t care if he had to sacrifice a few of these people for the nameless sword but he had to rely on luck and as a person gated by heaven, his luck is basically negative.
…
Everyone looked to Bai Lung, waiting for his decision.
Everyone perceived Bai Lung as a scholar and scholar has something called scholar sense which allow them to sense threat.
But seeing Bai Lung totally in daze, of her presumed both paths was equally a greater threat, then again, it’s the tomb of the void emperor, how could it be easy as plucking flowers or killing ants.
At the same time,
The holy disciple crossed his arms and looked at Bai Lung expectantly, clearly hoping for a quick answer.
“Which way should we go, junior?” he asked, his tone betraying his coldness with a hint of impatience.
Bai Lung pursed his lips, contemplating for a moment. He could feel the weight of everyone’s eyes on him, waiting for his decision.
“The path to the left seems less treacherous,” he finally said, pointing towards the left path.
“I sense a stronger presence of Void Qi coming from that direction, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s more dangerous,”
His eyes flicked to the holy disciple, gauging his reaction.
For Bai Lung, he believed more Void Qi = more chances of a nameless sword being there.
The holy disciple nodded slowly, his expression still somewhat skeptical about Bai Lung’s words.
It’s also unclear if others can handle a large pressure of Void Qi.
But he didn’t protest, for now at least.
“We shall trust your judgment, then,” he said stiffly.
“if so, lead the way, Junior!” he said, in case something happens then the first one to die will be junior, Bai Lung.
Bai Lung looked at him but nodded despite the fact, he had seen through this holy disciple’s trickery.
‘Tch! What a smalldick crybaby,’
The group followed behind Bai Lung as he took the lead and led them down the left corridor.
The left corridor was narrower than the main entrance, forcing them to walk in single file.
The walls were made of damp and slimy stone, and the air was thick with the scent of decay with powerful runes stopping others from breaking it.
