The Martial Unity

Chapter 2645 Political Ramifications

Chapter 2645  Political Ramifications

Thus, while the entire Solaris Martial community tingled with the first wave of enthusiasm in a long time, the political power blocs of the nation had already begun tussling about the political implications of this nation.

"Your Majesty…" a Martial Sage growled. "Do you think that we don't know what you are attempting to do?"

A crowd of Martial Sages gathered before the throne in the Royal Hall.

Behind them were many Martial Masters, as well as other important leaders, such as the religious and spiritual leaders.

They confronted the queen, who gazed down upon her throne with cold, aloof golden eyes.

And yet, she wasn't alone.

Before her were several Sages of her own, as well as her own cohort of Masters and industrial leaders of the Solaris Kingdom.

The face-off between the two sides represented a dichotomy within the political sphere of the Solaris Kingdom. Not even a nation as seemingly uniform and homogenous was free from political division.

In the Solaris Kingdom, there was one main fault line, dividing the nation into two political factions.

The clergy and the secularists.

The conservatives and the liberals.

The preservers and the reformists.

They were divided in their visions for the future of the Solaris Kingdom. One side believed in maintaining and promoting their isolationist and hawkish ethnoracial nationalism and imperialism. They believed that they were the greatest and most superior, so much so that normal humans were livestock compared to them. They believed that the Solaris Kingdom ought to strive to dominate all of human civilization as their lessers and take their place as the pinnacle of this world under the glory of the Sun. They believed that interracial breeding was a disgusting sin, akin to bestiality, and that the sol people mustn't dilute the blood of the Sun God Solaris that flowed in their veins. It was this faction that sought to wage war with the Gen Temple and other Sage-level powerhouses in South Panama and dominated nations in its sphere of influence as slave colonies.

And then there was the liberal faction.

This held more moderate ethnoracial views on the sol people. While they still regarded themselves as superior, it only extended as far as recognizing the reality of their genetic advantages.

And yet, the strongest view that they held was that the Solaris Kingdom was dooming itself with isolationist economic policy and hawkish foreign policy that was causing the Sage-level powerhouses around them to unite against the lunatic nation.

This view had particularly gained momentum since the Beast Incursion had commenced. While other nations were able to forge deals with the Kandrian Empire and other suppliers to get their hands on food and other essential goods and services through seafaring trade. Suddenly, all that bad blood was working against them as they found themselves unable to get their hands on basic necessities like food and water due to their supply chains being disrupted.

In Era of Darkness, being a race supremacist, warmonger wannabe conqueror of the world was deeply unhelpful. "Your ways will doom us," she narrowed her eyes fiercely as she glared at the conservative faction. "We need to undo the dispersal of clouds and return this land to its natural state. We need to establish friendly relations with the rest of human civilization and work with them more extensively than ever. We need to embrace new technologies and blessings from the Estoterist and the Void Prince. We need to fundamentally change the ethos of this nation if we wish to emerge from the Era of Darkness."

The reformists of the moderate faction sided with her firmly.

"You dare to undermine the Solaris Faith and Solaris supremacy?!" the Martial Sage at the front bellowed with a powerful tone. "You dare?!"

The air boiled tumultuously as Queen Lianiala's anger flared in her eyes.

A single warning escaped her. "Watch your tone, Dawlish."

The man stiffened.

"I am the most powerful light-bender in the history of our nation and faith." Her eyes flared with power. "I am superior to all of you by your own views and beliefs, am I not?"

Sage Dawlish glared at her with boiling rage.

And yet, he didn't deny her words.

As the most powerful light-bender in the Solaris Kingdom, her word was theoretically supposed to be absolute.

In reality, she didn't have absolute power. Even if she was the strongest and peak, Sage of the Solaris Kingdom, if a bunch of powerful Sages banded together, they could form a strong power bloc that could impede her will.

"Besides, if you truly believe that the sol Martial Masters are absolutely superior, then you should have no problem putting them to the test against the Void Prince, should you?"

Sage Dawlish gritted his teeth.

She put him in a tough spot.

Had she brought any other Master, he would have gladly taken up the challenge. He was confident that the Radiant would not fall short of any Master as he was right now. And yet, the person that she had posed as a challenge was none other than one of the two pillars of hope in the Era of Darkness.

There legends and tales surrounding him were truly shocking.

So much so that Sage Dawlish was truly tempted to dismiss them as fairy tales.

And yet, the more unbelievable they were, the more credible the intel sources. The Beggar Sect may engage in a lot of propaganda among the masses, but when it came to selling products to a distinguished clientele, it had cultivated a flawless track record of credibility and trustworthiness.

There was no doubt about the fact that somehow, the Void Prince had managed to fight a Martial Sage and emerge with the upper hand.

"You…" Sage Dawlish ground his teeth.

"If your propaganda on sol supremacy is true, then the entirety of the Solaris Kingdom will come to believe it depending on the outcome of this battle," she remarked. "If your propaganda is nonsense, then that too will come to light. Isn't that ideal for both parties? We will get to witness a Martialocratic ruling on the truth."

And thus, in one month, this political tug of war would firmly fall in the favor of one side.
