Chapter 380: Chapter 380: Encounter with Menthol Oil Again

Under the night sky, Matthew, Kara Knightley, and Johnny Depp finished their street tour in Santo Domingo and returned to their hotel. Taking the elevator to the penultimate floor, Johnny Depp's room was the closest to the elevator. He casually waved at Matthew and Kara Knightley, then went into his room.

Matthew and Kara Knightley continued along the long corridor until they reached Matthew's room.

"Time flies," Matthew said, stopping but making no move to open the door. He turned to look at Kara, "It feels like we only just went out."

Kara bit her lower lip, staring intently at Matthew but remained silent.

Matthew tried inviting her, "Kara, it's been a while since we had a deep conversation. How about we talk through the night?"

As he spoke, he opened the door, stepped aside to let Kara in with a gesture of invitation.

It wasn't their first time; they had many deep conversations and long talks before. Kara hesitated for two seconds, then stepped into Matthew's room decisively. Matthew followed her in, hugging her as he pushed the door shut with his back hand. The door closed with a loud bang, isolating the increasingly urgent breaths inside the room.

Near midnight, Matthew's luxurious suite finally quieted down.

"Fancy a drink?"

Matthew, carrying two glasses of red wine, approached the window where Kara, draped in a thin blanket, stood admiring the night view of Santo Domingo.

She took the glass of wine Matthew handed her, sipped it lightly, then handed the glass back, "Hold this for me!"

Unsure of what Kara intended, Matthew still took the glass, asking with concern, "What's wrong?"

Kara bent down, scratching her lower leg, seemingly very itchy. After scratching for a while, she decided to sit on the sofa and continued to gently scratch, occasionally pinching herself with her fingernails.

Utilizing the bright light near the sofa, Matthew saw several noticeable red bumps on Kara's leg being scratched.

"Damn mosquitoes!" Kara cursed. "These damn mosquitoes!"

Hearing her curse at the mosquitoes, Matthew immediately remembered something he had prepared before coming to the Dominican Republic. Apart from a few boxes given to Bella Anderson upon arrival, he had prepared plenty more.

"It must have been from the street tonight!" Kara, previously distracted, hadn't felt much before, but now that the euphoric mood had faded, the itchiness on her leg grew worse.

She looked at Matthew curiously, not understanding what he was doing, and complained, "Why do mosquitoes only bite me and not bad people like you?"

Matthew had found the menthol oil by then, shaking it in front of Kara, saying, "Because I have a magic remedy against mosquito bites."

He approached Kara, opened the packaging box, and unscrewed the cap of the menthol oil. A slightly pungent smell immediately invaded Kara's nostrils.

"What is this?"

The box was right in front of her, Kara frowned, "It smells so pungent."

Matthew sat next to Kara, pouring some on his finger, "Didn't I tell you, it's a magic medicine for insect bites." He urged, "Move your hand."

Kara, somewhat skeptical yet trusting Matthew, moved her hand away. Matthew applied the menthol oil on her leg, and her eyes widened instantly.

"Keep going, don't stop!" She felt a cooling sensation, and the itchiness on her leg subsided significantly, "More of it."

Matthew proceeded slowly; Kara, getting impatient, snatched the bottle and started applying it herself, not even caring as the blanket slipped off her.

"Be careful!" Matthew warned her, "Don't let it get on sensitive areas!"

Kara looked up curiously, "Isn't it just an anti-itch medicine?" She was very curious, "What is this medicine?"

Unable to translate, Matthew could only pronounce, "Menthol oil, a miraculous formula from an ancient oriental country."

He stood up, asking, "Feeling better?"

Kara nodded, "Much better."

Matthew reached out to take the menthol oil back, but Kara dodged, extending her hand instead, "Give me the cap."

She wasn't polite with Matthew at all, "There are too many mosquitoes in Santo Domingo, this bottle is mine now."

"Alright." Matthew handed her the cap, which she took and screwed on tightly, "Thanks."

She stood up, picked up her clothes off the floor to change, while Matthew watched her, asking, "Not staying over?"

Kara shook her head, "I don't want rumors flying everywhere." She glanced back at Matthew, "Tomorrow I have scenes to shoot with Elizabeth Swann, I need to rest well. Staying here, God knows what time I'd get to sleep."

Although she knew the engagement between Charlize Theron and Matthew was just for

show, she thought that even if it were real, Charlize Theron would probably break it off with him. From her experience, how many women could tolerate Matthew's nightly antics?

If it were her, she would definitely break off the engagement with that jerk Matthew.

Kara dressed, not forgetting to pocket the bottle of menthol oil, waved at Matthew, and headed towards the door.

Matthew remembered she hadn't washed her hands, reminding her, "Wash your hands when you get back, don't apply it on sensitive areas."

Kara stopped by the door, turned back, and curiously asked, "Is it poisonous? Will it kill if applied?"

"How could anything I give you be poisonous?" Matthew retorted casually, "Like the eyes, nose, or other sensitive areas, applying it there could send you flying off to your doom!"

"Pfft!" Kara bit her lip and huffed, pulling the door open and walking out.

Matthew saw the door close, tidied up the living room quickly, throwing some protective gear into the toilet to flush away. Just as he was about to take a shower and go to bed, his phone suddenly rang.

He picked it up, saw it was Kara, and hurriedly answered, "What's wrong, Kara?"

"Hurry... hurry..." Kara's voice sounded strange, "Quickly... come here, I... am going to die!"

Thinking Kara might have had an accident, Matthew quickly dressed and dashed out of his room, running down the hallway while shouting into the phone, "Kara, hold on! I'm coming!"

Before he reached her room, Kara's door opened from the inside, and Matthew clearly saw a hand and half an arm sliding along the doorframe, as if about to fall.

Matthew rushed to the door, looked inside, and saw Kara kneeling at the entrance, wrapped in a towel, one hand clutching her stomach, the other tightly gripping the carpet, seemingly in great pain.

"What's wrong?" Matthew rushed in, crouching beside her, asking, "Kara! Are you alright?"

"Quick!" Kara's words seemed squeezed between her teeth, "Close the door!"

Matthew, puzzled, still quickly shut the door. As soon as the door clicked, Kara turned to lie back on the carpet, emitting a very suppressed cry.

Matthew, unclear of the situation, watched as Kara writhed on the floor, asking, "What exactly happened?"

Kara pointed with a finger towards a direction in the room, and Matthew looked immediately. On the coffee table in front of the sofa, there was a green bottle—the menthol oil Kara had taken from him!

"You..." Matthew immediately understood, pointing at Kara, saying, "Are you crazy?"

Kara seemed to be enduring intense stimulation, her voice low, biting her lip, murmured, "Quick... help me."

Matthew thought quickly, picked Kara up, and ran to the bathroom, turning on the shower...

Forty minutes later, Matthew carried a seemingly normal Kara back out and placed her on the long sofa.

"Didn't I tell you?" Matthew said, "That stuff shouldn't be applied to sensitive areas!"

"I didn't..." Kara started to defend.

Matthew waved his hand dismissively, "Never mind, I don't want to ask."

Kara bit her lip, finally saying, "After I left your place, I was going to take a shower, and accidentally touched it with the fingers I used on my leg at your place, then..."

She seemed embarrassed, stealing glances at Matthew, then turned to lie face down on the sofa, "Then it felt quite special, just like you said, so thrilling I could almost fly."

Matthew was speechless, stepping back to sit on another sofa.

"I think it's not bad," Kara murmured faintly, "Just came out of the bathroom and applied some more, and then... it turned out like you saw."

"Why didn't you just apply the whole bottle?" Matthew really didn't know what else to say, "Didn't I tell you?"

Kara turned around, defending, "It wasn't on purpose." She hung her head, "Okay, I admit, the second time was on purpose, but who would have thought it would turn out like this."

"Alright." Matthew stood up, walking towards the door, "You should rest early."

As he closed the door behind him, he left Kara to ponder the night's unexpected adventures.
