Letting out a groan along with feeling a tired and heavy body, Shao Cheng that has blearily opened his eyes has swiftly raised his fist to hit the face that appeared so close to his own as soon as he was able to see.

"Argh!"

Waking up entirely alert as soon as he regains consciousness, Shao Cheng that was prepared to make a follow up with his attack toward the figure that has been hovering his body the entire time has stopped when he heard the familiar voice reached his ears.

Blinking his eyes, Shao Cheng turned his head around and saw the way that his older brother was currently clutching his left eyes which in turn, he saw the way that Yu Qin has started reprimanding his older brother with an exasperated voice.

"Yan, didn't I tell you to stop doing that? You definitely deserved that punch! Who told you to creepily hover your face so close to your younger brother? Even I will feel scared if I see your face so close to mine after waking up!"

After figuring out what happened, Shao Cheng ignored the way that his older brother was being thought about common sense by Yu Qin as he turned his attention to Purple that was out from his body once again and seemed to be having fun at the unfortunate Shao Yan that was punched unfortunately in the eyes while being reprimand by his right-hand man. 

Shao Cheng ignoring Purple's rather sadistic side, has mentally asked about how long he has been out the entire time while asking about if there have been enemies that were able to get close to their location while he was unconscious.

Trying hard not to roll his eyes, Shao Cheng has finally known that he has been out almost two days, between Purple snickering sound while there have been no enemies around that even manage to get in their side of Mountain.

Shao Cheng's older brother should be grateful enough that his body didn't automatically go into a fight mode which he would have definitely done a greater deal of damage to his older brother rather than getting a black eye from him.

"Third Brother! We tried our best to cure you, are you really alright now? Is there anything hurting? You can tell Big Brother and I'll do my best to make you feel better!"

Although the concern words and worried actions of his older brother have cause Shao Cheng heart to soften and warm a bit, as the thought that this is his family in this world now flash on his mind, which is the people that he can first start liking before turning to love them more later on.

"Brother, I'm alright. Poison really won't kill me and I just needed to rest in order to heal from its effect."

Although from the corner of his eyes, Shao Cheng watched as Purple leave the place that he has been laying down the entire time which is a makeshift bed before going out and flying somewhere that he doesn't know, although his entire focus soon returned to a curious Shao Yan along with Yu Qin about the meaning of his words he has just spoken.

So after finally drinking water to soothe his dry throat Shao Cheng uses the reason of traveling around the place and learning medicinal knowledge on his leisure, which he also unfortunately needed to learn about regarding poison if he doesn't want to accidentally hurt anyone because of his lack of knowledge in that area.

Although he couldn't help but wince a bit when his older face turned face after learning about how he has used his own body to test it all out. 

Well, that explanation was better than telling that his body is changing and turning into an abnormal monster because of an exchange of a deal with a powerful being and able to completely use the special power that he accidentally got in the previous life.

Sighing, Shao Cheng shook his head at his concern older brother, before walking out from the place that he has been sleeping the entire time, which is under a rocky roof, however, the words that Shao Yan has suddenly spoken in such a bitter sound has cause Shao Cheng to stop.

"Wait! Third Brother lets deal with those arrows still lodged in your body, we wanted to remove it before but no one of us is specifically gifted about medical knowledge right now and doesn't want to make it more critical to your health."

Seemingly remembering the people that have died, Shao Yan's eyes turned hard while his hands grip tightly of how helpless he felt when his third brother has lost consciousness while watching Shao Cheng burning face sweats from the poison that is definitely causing him so much pain.

They are fortunate enough that they have someone with them that has retain some sort of knowledge about medicine but the one who completely knows it has died during that ambushed attack, so they couldn't do anything to his weak, vulnerable and fragile Third Brother that appeared like he can die any seconds.

Shao Yan's heart was despairing with helplessness about the entire situation, it was extremely so painful to wait for every single second that pass by since he can only wish and hope that Shao Cheng will get better quickly, in which the words that he has spoken before losing consciousness were all true.

And the entire painful time of waiting, Shao Yan can only deeply observe his Third Brother closely in order to completely make sure that he doesn't abruptly stop breathing while entirely feeling remorseful about not being able to share or even take the pain that Shao Cheng is definitely experiencing even if he was unconscious.

Shao Yan felt like he was about to lose his mind from never-ending distress, that his mind will snap the moment that his Third Brother has stopped breathing, so seeing his brother awake and alive right now, Shao Yan has vowed to grow stronger later on while learning about a medicinal skill in order to be able to treat the people he loves when they are hurting and in great danger in losing their life, unlike this time.

Because never again, Shao Yan will remain helpless while he watched as his third brother fights for his life.

And Shao Cheng that can easily glimpse those regret, remorse, and guilt along with determination shining upon his older brother's dark blue eyes, has caused him to feel extreme shame of making his older brother experience such a thing. 

Although Shao Cheng knew that he can't completely protect everyone with everything that will happen later on, the pain, sadness, regrets, and other dark emotions but the overwhelming disappointment and frustration he felt still remain.

He pledges to perform better next time, it seemed that he also needs to take care of himself more, or else it will cause the people that care about him more pain if they seemed him getting hurt.

Although it was a completely new concept for Shao Cheng to be even thinking such a thing, but he will try his best to fulfill it for as long as he can.

"Alright Brother, we will take care of the arrows but it will be tomorrow. After all, I need to get the herbs that I needed to treat it."
