The Self Evolver.

Chapter 3. (11)

Although he wanted to complain about the many restrictions to the ability, in all honesty it was truly a powerful ability especially in his current world where the most powerful creatures were dragons.

Turyn had already realized what world he was reborn in after hearing the names of some of the dragons such as the Gronckle, Deadly Nadder and Monstrous Nightmare. This was the world of How to Train your dragon. The question was how old Hiccup was at this time as this would determine how much time he had before certain events of the story happened if they hadn’t already happened. He had already heard of the island of Berk, an island located to very far North of his current location and would take about 2-3 weeks by boat to reach. He just hadn’t gone there for a variety of reasons one being that his village wasn’t exactly on friendly terms with Berk due to an incident a few generations ago, he didn’t really know much about it but all he knew was that before the incident the two villages had quite an amicable relationship but after that incident the two villages’ relationship became neutral bordering on slight animosity hence he couldn’t exactly find a reason to explain to his father why he could possibly wish to go to Berk.

Second, he was a dragon killer and Turyn doubted Hiccup, the dragon loving enthusiast, would want to have anything to do with him. To be fair he also didn’t really need Hiccup to like him either as despite being a person who grew up watching the How to Train your Dragon franchise and loved Hiccup as a cartoon character, he wouldn’t bend over backwards to please him just because he is the main character of this world.

He might have tried to do so before considering that he would soon come to possess Toothless who alone could easily deal massive damage to his village and who in the future would become an Alpha capable of controlling hundreds of dragons to do his bidding which correlates to Hiccup’s bidding and despite having previously dedicated himself to train to become a strong and powerful Viking, he wouldn’t stand a chance against Hiccup and his crew.

Don’t get Turyn wrong, he could easily best Hiccup, Astrid or any other Viking of berk in close combat and even deal with their dragons if he could get close enough but the fact that they could easily simply escape through the sky throughout their confrontation as shown numerous times throughout the film when Hiccup and his crew faced countless Bounty Hunters time and time again would make Turyn’s chances of winning abysmally small.

However now he didn’t have to worry about that as he had something capable of dealing with Hiccup and his dragon loving friends should they choose to become his enemies.

He had Genesis.

Now he needed to decide which power he should first get. He was currently a strong Viking who had proven himself capable of killing a dragon though with tremendous effort and difficulty however in order to deal with Hiccup and his friends he would need to more than a simple strong Viking.

He could instinctively feel that his Genesis power had enough energy to create a powerful Tier 2 ability or a few Tier 1 abilities.

First he needed to know Hiccup’s age in order to plan better on what ability he should get and he knew just the people to ask and luckily they were currently loading various Ragna’s commodities on their ships. Turyn left the pasture fields and headed towards the docks in the south of the Island.

He arrived to find a few ships with some men and women loading various goods onto these ships. He asked around until he was eventually directed to one of the merchants there, a thin man with a large beard and long moustache that was stretched and coiled into thin pointed ends on both sides of his face. He was skinny with blue eyes and brown.

He could currently be seen talking to his one of the workers in an overly polite yet cowardly tone that made him look even smaller and weaker that he already looked. The worker looked annoyed by the man’s constant pestering and simply told him to stop trying to tell him a story and bugger off to which the merchant simply bowed meekly and was about to scurry away when he noticed someone heading towards him.

“Ahhh if it isn’t the future chief of Ragna village, Tuweryn Lothbrok the 9th. It is truly a pleasure to finally meet you.” The skinny merchant said as soon as he reached Turyn.

“Have we met before because I can’t recall ever meeting you before” said Turyn a bit confused, the man looked quite familiar and yet he couldn’t quite put his hands on it.

“No no” the merchant said blushing in embarrassment “We have never met before, but I have heard of you, the 15 year old Viking boy who killed a Monstrous Nightmare truly an astonishing feat that not many dragon hunters could say they managed to do at their age”

“Haha well I’m sure what you heard may be somewhat exaggerated tales” said Turyn as he scratched his head in embarrassment.

“Oh not at all on the contrary I can see a famous future dragon hunter in you” said the merchant and for a moment Turyn thought he saw his eyes glimmer before returning to their normal blue self.

“Anyway, enough about me, I just noticed that you seem to know all about me but i don’t know anything about you.”

“Oh my apologies, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Trader Johann, a seafaring trader who travels across the world from the great Walls of China in the East to the Grand canyons in the West, to the beautiful beaches in the south and the cold Storms in the North selling all manner of goods from jewelry to food and spices.”

‘Trader Johann’ Turyn suddenly understood why the cowardly and timid merchant in front of him seemed so familiar, the man in front of him was Trader Johann, the main antagonist of Hiccup Haddock Horrendous the 3rd and his friends in the series How to Train Your Dragon race to the edge. He was the surprise antagonist who was revealed later on to be the leader of the Dragon Hunters and the one who had been plotting against Hiccup all along. His current weak and cowardly demeanor was simply his means of getting the people around him to lower their guard exposing their secrets and weaknesses to him which he would later use to deal with them. He had destroyed many villages using such methods and he would have succeeded in controlling the Archipelago and gaining the control of the King of Dragon’s power if he wasn’t discovered and defeated by Hiccup and his friends later on.
