The story of the struggle in another world of the divine cat Mii-chan and the cat supplies summoner

chapter 72 - Divine Cat Mee-chan wins the battle.

72 Divine Cat Mee-chan wins the battle.

First, we need to treat the injured. There’s a cave deeper inside this area where they’ve gathered.

When we arrived, the situation was dire—some were in such bad shape that it was a wonder they were still alive.

I started by pouring mineral water over the most severely injured.

“What’s that, nya?”

Oh, right—I hadn’t told Pero about it yet. I explained that it was a basic universal potion and handed him some mineral water to pour on the injured as well. For the worst cases, I poured the water into a dish and had them drink it. However, it couldn’t fully heal everyone. Those who had lost limbs or eyes couldn’t be restored; only a high-grade potion could do that.

A mid-grade potion can reattach a severed limb as long as the limb is still intact. A basic potion, like this one, only seals wounds and boosts natural healing. There’s no helping it, but at least we can give them a chance to survive by applying it to their injuries.

“Mii…”

Mii-chan looks sad. I know, Mii-chan, but we have to do what we can.

A few kobolds helped out, and we managed to treat all the injured. I also gave them two extra bottles to use later if needed.

Next, we need to figure out how to defend this place.

I started by storing the large stones and boulders inside the cave in Mii-chan’s bag. Then, I arranged them along the edge of the cliff. I asked the kobolds to gather some thick logs, and I taught them the principles of using a lever. This way, we can drop the stones on the enemy from above.

“When will the enemy arrive?”

“The scouts are out, so we’ll be informed as soon as they arrive.”

It seems we have some time left, so let’s prepare something useful. I took Pero’s tattered clothes and any other unwanted fabric, cut them into small pieces, and filled them with flour, tying them loosely for easy unraveling. I made as many as possible.

“But… Pero’s clothes…”

“I bought you three new outfits, didn’t I? I’ll buy you more later, so bear with it for now.”

I explained to Rodem, Kiba-Oh, and Pat how to throw these at the enemy’s faces. It’s just a simple blinding tactic—it might not do much, but it should help buy us some time.

Now, let’s move on to the next thing. I filled some empty plastic bottles with Mii-chan’s shampoo and hot water. We’ll have them spread this mixture around the area. Since the enemy has insect-type monsters, this should be highly effective. It will prevent them from approaching, weakening their forces. Kiba-Oh and Pat’s subordinates will handle this. Make sure to spread it evenly.

Just as they finished spreading it, the scouts returned. It seems the enemy is here. At least we’ve done the minimum preparations.

I handed out the weapons and armor I bought at the bazaar to the kobolds. The sizes might not fit perfectly, but the quality is good, so they’ll have to make do.

Under the moonlight, the first to charge in were the Rock Apes of the Rock Monkey tribe, followed by goblins, Forest Bears, and finally, the massive Granbear strolling in leisurely.

The Rock Apes quickly scaled the cliff.

“Mii!”

At Mii-chan’s signal, the blinding flour bombs were thrown, and the kobolds began dropping stones and rocks.

A particularly large Rock Ape leaped right in front of me. In a rush, I used my water skill to craft something from ale—most likely 100% pure ethanol—and threw it at the beast. Pat, standing beside me, shot a flaming arrow at the ape, piercing its shoulder. A burst of pale blue flames erupted, and the creature tumbled down the cliff.

Looking down, I noticed the entire area was covered in the flour we used for the blinding tactic, turning everything stark white.

Wait, isn’t this… dangerous? My intuition skill started ringing alarm bells.

“Everyone, get down!”

I shielded Mii-chan and shouted just before a deafening boom erupted. The ground shook with a loud crash, followed by a series of cracking sounds.

“Mii…”

Sorry, Mii-chan. That must have been quite a shock. I was startled too.

“What was that?!”

Pero’s voice snapped me back to reality, and I looked down the cliff. The entire area was in shambles… a dust explosion.

Fortunately, since the explosion happened at the base of the cliff, the blast’s force was directed upwards and spread out radially. Trees within a 10-meter radius were knocked down. Wow, that was lucky… Haha… I’m really sorry.

Looking down, I didn’t see any monsters standing. But wait—there’s one. It’s the Granbear. Its eyes were bloodshot as it glared directly at me… Why? That was an accident, I swear! I didn’t mean to do it!

“Mii…”

“Hey, Mii-chan, could you stop looking at me like that?”

The Grandbear charged at me, shooting air cannons as it ran. It seemed completely unfazed, possibly because of its size and weight. The few Kobolds that shot arrows at it were ignored. Even the Kobolds, Rodem’s subordinates, and the White Wolf King’s subordinates seemed paralyzed with fear and unable to move.

Realizing the danger, I decided to use a paralysis powder from my bag, even though I wasn’t sure if it would work. The Grandbear, with its mouth wide open and drooling as it ran, inhaled the powder. It soon collapsed face-first while climbing the cliff.

“Pelo! Now’s the time!”

“Leave it to me!”

Pelo drew his sword, Kotechi, and leaped down. At the same time, the black leopard, who had come to our aid, also jumped in and finished off the incapacitated Grandbear. Don’t call it unfair—this is my fighting style!

“Ohh!”

The remaining fighters snapped back to reality and began finishing off the monsters that were knocked out by the blast. A transparent board appeared in front of me, indicating that my Soul Vessel had grown. I’ll check it later.

“Did we win?”

“Looks like it…”

“Glad to hear that, woof!”

There’s a mix of feelings about this victory. After so much struggle, the situation turned around in just a few hours. Although the dust explosion was an irregular factor, it significantly contributed to our victory by knocking down trees and incapacitating most of the enemy monsters without causing damage to us. We’ll just have to consider it Mii-chan’s contribution to the natural destruction.

“Mii-chan, come on, don’t look at me like that! You’re our representative, you know, so please…”

“Mii…”

The three representatives at the base of the cliff are saying:

“Humans are terrifying…”

“I can see why they defeated the Demon Lord…”

“We should get along with them…”

But putting that aside, we’ve won!

“Mii!”
