The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 211 - Training

At this moment, Jiang Hui regretted her impulsive decision to climb onto the box as much as she was grateful for securing a convenient support frame for the three of them. Without that, their situation would not have been just a painful fall — it would have been far worse.

However, their situation wasn’t much better now. The box was moving too fast. At first, they could still manage to sit on it, though their postures were awkward. But at least it was somewhat dignified.

As the box continued to pick up speed, they could no longer even scream out. The strong winds roaring by made it impossible for them to open their eyes, and their entire consciousness began to blur, as though they were being swept away by the chaotic motion.

The three of them could only desperately grip the support frame, fearing that if they lost their hold, they’d really be done for.

“…What the hell…” Zhou Xiuwen’s voice came, barely recognizable in the howling wind.

Jiang Hui’s nearly frozen brain surprisingly stirred for a moment, and she thought, ‘It seems his mental endurance is pretty good, to still have the energy to make such a comment.’ But before that fleeting thought could linger, the chaotic situation interrupted her once again.

In the next sudden jolt of the box, Jiang Hui regained her train of thought, fleetingly thinking, ‘If… if time could be rewound, I definitely wouldn’t have been so foolish as to use the box as a transportation vehicle… This is no school-level competition, this is literally life or death!’

“Ahhh, how much longer do we have to spin? I feel like my soul is going to fly out!”

Unfortunately, the unseen hand controlling everything didn’t care about that. The box carrying the three of them continued to accelerate, speeding past groups of students below who were desperately scrambling for resources.

Because the box was moving so quickly, some students were too focused on the fight for resources to notice it, while others, fortunately, saw it just in time.

“Wh-what is that thing? Did it just fly past us?”

“It looks like a resource box…”

“No, no, we’ve seen resource boxes before, but they don’t look like this… The bottom looks like a box, but what’s moving on top is—people?!”

“Looks like it really is people, and not just one.”

“What kind of idiot would climb onto a resource box like that? Are they trying to get eliminated faster? Do they think they’ll find the source of the resources by riding the box? More likely they’re just being thrown out of the arena.”

“I really want to know whose idea that was. What a unique thought… Ha ha ha—”

The students below, who caught a brief glimpse of their frantic and disheveled state, had no idea what Jiang Hui and the others were going through.

But even if they could hear them, in such an extreme situation, they would likely have been too dazed to think or respond.

As the box accelerated, the group had completely lost their ability to scream. Even the few thoughts that they could still grasp had become numb.

Jiang Hui, overwhelmed by the extreme external stimuli, felt as though her brain had overheated like a CPU and “crashed,” losing consciousness entirely.

In the dim control room, Dennis was intently staring at the enlarged central screen, which clearly showed the movements of Jiang Hui and the others. His expression was one of excitement.

“Although it’s because of the barriers, their physical endurance to make it this far is impressive. Well, they’ve been tested enough. I’ll just give them the items now… They should be happy about that.” The man murmured to himself in the empty control room, speaking to the screen.

The dark environment only added to the eerie atmosphere. If someone were to walk in at that moment, they’d probably be startled enough to get goosebumps.

However, Dennis didn’t care about this at all. He was a very impulsive person—he did whatever came to his mind, as long as things didn’t go too far out of line.

The box wasn’t actually moving that fast, and it wasn’t as long as it appeared. Typically, it would carry supplies from a storage point at the bottom, deliver the resources, and then return the same way to a nearby large collection point.

So, the fact that Jiang Hui and the others were “riding” the resource box, flying wildly around, was entirely Dennis’ doing. He personally adjusted the route, even modifying a few resource paths online to clear a way for them, ensuring that they would have a very unique experience on the box.

The inspiration for this idea came from the ancient human relic from the Mother Planet era known as the “Over-X Vehicle.”

Before this, Dennis hadn’t quite understood why the old humans had developed such exercise equipment that did nothing for physical fitness. But now he realized he had underestimated the wisdom of ancient humans. This wasn’t made for building physical strength at all—it was the ultimate tool for honing a warrior’s willpower.

This was… so exciting!

He couldn’t stop himself—he had to research it further, make improvements, and equip military academies with versions of this. Ideally, he could adapt it for use with mechs.

It seemed like Dennis was completely immersed in the thrilling adventure of the three on-screen figures, but in reality, his thoughts had already drifted far away.

Of course, during this whole process, Dennis also made sure to add extra layers of protection for the three of them. He even activated the box’s hidden safety mode, which was originally designed to protect students from accidents. It was meant to be used in case of emergencies, and it had now proven useful.

By now, two of Jiang Hui’s group had already passed out, so they didn’t notice that, while the box’s speed hadn’t slowed, the environment around them had become much more “stable.” It almost felt like a protective force was surrounding them, guiding them toward a predetermined destination.

“Kids need this kind of training. I guarantee that when they come out of this, they’ll have grown a lot… Hahaha! Only I, Dennis, would have such thoughts. They should be grateful to me.” The control room echoed with a loud, arrogant laugh, before suddenly quieting down, as if Dennis realized someone might overhear him.

If the three unconscious individuals could hear these words, they would probably want to throw a few hard slaps in response to “thank” the person who said them. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hear it.

“This isn’t right, this has already exceeded the standard for the orienteering race,” Captain Lin Qi had been joking a moment ago, but now, seeing things unfolding, he realized it was becoming more and more problematic.

Looking at the screen, where the box was speeding up even further and the three participants were slowly losing consciousness, his brow furrowed deeply.

“Damn it, has it gone out of control? We need to contact Professor Dennis right away…”

“It’s too high. If they fall, this isn’t a minor issue.”

Seeing the three of them exposed to danger, the other instructors in the room immediately stopped looking on with amusement and became serious.

Some were anxiously staring at the screen, while others quickly began to contact the relevant personnel. Stark… he had already left the instructor’s seat and disappeared somewhere.

Instructor Tan, however, knew where he had gone — the control room.

Looking at the three figures on the screen who seemed to have lost all consciousness, the older man sighed deeply. All he could do now was hope that the three of them would be okay.
