The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 24 - Organizing

Jiang Hui felt that the original owner’s brain might indeed have suffered some damage. After all, a human brain is made up of four frontal lobes, and now two of them had been injured. Although the technology in the interstellar world was very advanced, she found it hard to believe that there wouldn’t be any impact at all.

Wasn’t this going to lead to some aftereffects? Now she couldn’t remember the time properly, and she was experiencing jet lag.

Jiang Hui widened her eyes to double-check the time on her light brain, but it was still the same time she had seen earlier.

Great, either the light brain was malfunctioning, or… could it be that the interstellar timekeeping was so different from that of Blue Star?

She really couldn’t figure it out and no longer felt sleepy, so she had no choice but to get out of bed.

Besides, she hadn’t really taken a good look at this apartment. The original owner’s memories didn’t seem to have any specific impressions, probably because she had only just moved in not long ago.

Now, Jiang Hui finally had time to check out the garden view outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Although it was a simulated night, it looked quite real, presenting a peaceful scene outside.

After looking for a while, she got up and wandered around the room. The house was very new, and the bathroom and walk-in closet were also empty, with only a few pieces of clothing hanging up, indicating that she probably hadn’t bought new things yet.

After leaving the bedroom, the lights in the hallway turned on one after another, instantly brightening the space.

As she walked into the living room, the air conditioning had already turned on automatically, and a faint breeze filled the space, bringing some life to the area.

She sat down on a sofa that looked quite in line with the future concepts of Blue Star. It appeared hard on the outside, but when a heavy weight pressed down, it showed a state of rebound slower than memory foam, appearing very soft and comfortable.

After sitting there for a while, she truly began to organize the memories of this body.

She set aside things that were too distant for now because they had formed long ago and had long been buried deeper in her mind, making them hard to recall. Most of what she could remember easily were those vibrant and joyful moments embedded in the original owner’s memories.

At that time, there were parents, relatives, friends, amusing events at school, the pride of her first awakening and upgrade, and the curiosity of seeing mechs for the first time… many, many were happy memories. The original owner was a very lively and kind girl.

But later, after her parents sacrificed themselves, the color of her memories gradually darkened. The people and things she saw became increasingly faint, as if there was no longer any color in her eyes.

Her decision to leave the planet that raised her wasn’t driven by any dark secrets or simply a matter of right and wrong. Her family had not wronged her; she just didn’t want to stay there anymore. So when the opportunity arose, she left with hope, seeking a new beginning.

Unfortunately, the fate of life is unpredictable. The original owner arrived in this brand-new environment without even having the chance to properly plan for her future before dying in an accident.

Now, Jiang Hui finally remembered how the original owner met with this accident. It’s true that the Hailusi Group wasn’t wrongly accused; the true culprit behind the original owner’s misfortune was that TM series robot.

That intelligent system was purchased together with the furniture during the renovation, and it was a brand-new product that had never been unpacked or assembled. At the time, the original owner didn’t pay much attention to it because her home’s smart system in the inner star system had never had any issues growing up. She thought that these types of products were all the same and chose the recommended brand for the smart system.

Unexpectedly, this TM series model from Hailusi Group turned out to be a total disaster. After only a day or two of use, it started frequently freezing, which greatly irritated the original owner.

She planned to report it for a return the next day, but that night, an incident occurred. That piece of junk suddenly activated its alarm in the middle of the night, startling the original owner awake, only to fall silent afterward.

At that time, the original owner wanted to see what was going on with it, but the sub-robot connected to the intelligent system suddenly malfunctioned and charged out, knocking her down. Unfortunately, she fell in the direction of a nearby table, hitting the back of her head just right.

The worst part was that the robot connected to the intelligent system happened to shut down at that moment, leading to the subsequent tragedy.

What a tragicomedy it was, with the pitiful loss of the original owner’s innocent young life, while the rest became a farce of absurdity.

Intelligent systems, even those for furniture, have long been very common in the interstellar world, with the industry reaching a highly mature stage. Throughout interstellar history, there have been very few technological malfunctions, and they have always been good assistants for interstellar people. The TM series from Hailusi Group has become a disgrace that could be recorded in the annals of interstellar intelligent systems.

So, Hailusi Group truly lived up to its instincts. They dared to continue selling such a product—truly the worst of the worst—a disgrace in the high-tech manufacturing industry.

Jiang Hui was momentarily at a loss for words.

After sorting through her fragmented memories, she looked at the time—it was already past midnight, yet she still felt wide awake.

Thinking back on the day, it seemed like she had only eaten one lunch and nothing else. Feeling lazy, Jiang Hui got up from the sofa and walked toward the open kitchen, intending to rummage for something to fill her stomach.

Wow, over here was a whole set of kitchen smart tools that she couldn’t understand at all—strange-shaped grooves, something that looked like a wrench, and some incomprehensible composite panels… umm, the original owner had never been one to cook at home, so she had no clue about these things.

She stared at the various automated kitchen tools for a while before finally deciding to check the fridge for the instant food that she remembered from the original owner’s memories.

At last, she found something she could use. Jiang Hui pressed a button nearby, and suddenly, a metallic double-door area next to the open kitchen lit up with a shimmering display. It opened up like a list, revealing rows of items, and at the very bottom was a familiar interface that resembled an operating panel.

Jiang Hui glanced at the list and could barely identify that these should all be ingredients.

So this must be the fridge?

Sure enough, after a moment, the double doors slid inward to reveal a wall of “clutter.” Jiang Hui looked up and studied it; although it was a fridge, it wasn’t cold at all. Instead, there was a strange white mist floating inside, which she guessed must be the secret of how interstellar people kept their food fresh.

In the end, she managed to dig out a very familiar instant meal box from the heap and, following the instructions, placed it in the semi-finished processing cabinet beside her.

“Ding—” It was done in less than half a second.

As if she could already feel the satisfaction of being full, she eagerly took it out, opened the packaging, and prepared to feast.

However, when she finally saw the contents of the disposable meal box, her expression instantly froze.

Instant noodles.

God knows why, even in the interstellar world, she still couldn’t escape the fate of eating instant noodles…
