Chapter 76: CHAPTER 76
Hawkins said, "Both of you have no death on your faces, so don't be too nervous."
He then took out his tarot cards for divination.
"None of us have a chance of dying," he continued confidently.
Becky looked at him with disdain. "You're called 'The Magician,' yet you're obsessed with divination. Who would believe in your so-called predictions?"
"Don't believe me," Hawkins replied, his expression unfazed as he shuffled the cards. "Let me do another divination, this time on that Celestial Dragon and predict what will happen next."
Trafalgar Law and Capone Becky exchanged curious glances, watching him with skeptical eyes.
Hawkins continued his tarot reading, appearing calm at first, but when he placed the final cards down, his face suddenly changed. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"No… it can't be. How is this possible?!" Hawkins exclaimed in shock.
Becky and Law looked at each other, surprised. Although they didn't fully believe in Hawkins' divination, as captains of the Supernovas, they knew he wasn't completely unknowledgeable.
"What did you find in your divination?" Becky asked, his voice skeptical.
Hawkins didn't answer immediately. He shuffled the cards again, repeating the divination, but the result remained the same.
He stood still, lost in thought for a moment before speaking again. His next words were something that would stun both Trafalgar Law and Capone Becky.
"The Celestial Dragon's chance of survival is… zero."
"What did you say?" Becky exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "The survival rate of that Celestial Dragon is zero? That means he must die, right? Are you joking? How could that be possible?"
Becky frowned, clearly frustrated. "You need to have some limits when fooling people. Hawkins, you can't be a fortune teller like this!"
Trafalgar Law also sneered, curling his lip. "Your divination is way too fake."
Hawkins, however, had regained his composure and spoke with quiet certainty. "I know it's hard for you to believe me, but I've never been wrong with my divination. Especially not when the probability is zero—there's no margin for error."
Hawkins' readings were typically proportional, with probabilities for success or failure. If it was zero, it meant the outcome was inevitable. He was certain the Celestial Dragon would die.
But who would be bold enough to kill a Celestial Dragon?
Hawkins, lost in thought, began to mentally filter through the potential culprits.
He quickly ruled out Capone Becky and Trafalgar Law, who were both in front of him. He'd also encountered other Supernovas, like Jewelry Bonney, X. Drake, Urji, and even the Long-Handed Tribe's Apoo. None of them seemed foolish enough to take on a Celestial Dragon.
That left only two possibilities: Kid or Luffy.
"Is it Kid, or is it Straw Hat Luffy, the one who made waves on Judiciary Island?" Hawkins wondered to himself.
He observed both crews from a rooftop, but neither showed any sign of attacking the Celestial Dragon.
"Stop guessing," Trafalgar Law suddenly interjected, seemingly aware of Hawkins' line of thinking. "The pirates who come here have all made it through the first half of the Grand Line. They're not idiots who can't understand the situation. No one would dare attack a Celestial Dragon. It's suicide!"
Chambord was too close to Marine Headquarters. If someone were to attack a Celestial Dragon, an Admiral would be there in no time.
"Who would be so stupid?" Law muttered under his breath.
Hawkins reluctantly agreed with Law's reasoning, but he was still convinced by his own divination.
"Maybe someone unexpected," Hawkins replied.
Just as Hawkins finished speaking, a commotion broke out among the Navy warships in the port.
Hawkins quickly turned his gaze toward the disturbance.
Law and Becky looked on in shock. Could someone really be crazy enough to attack the Celestial Dragon?
They all focused their attention on the Navy warships.
The sailors on a nearby frigate raised their guns, pointing them into the air. The commanding officer yelled:
"Who goes there? Stop now! Saint Charles Rose, the noble of the world, is here! If you don't stop, we will fire!"
Dozens of guns aimed at a figure hovering in the air.
This man had no wings, but he was walking in midair, seemingly oblivious to the Navy's threats.
The officer didn't hesitate, shouting the order to fire.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The shots rang out, but when the smoke cleared, the officer's face froze in shock.
The man in midair was completely unharmed. Not even a scratch.
The bullets that had struck him fell harmlessly into the sea.
"This... what the hell?" the Navy officer stuttered, his jaw dropping in disbelief.
This scene was witnessed by everyone on the island.
"Oh? The man who just flew out of the sky? How interesting," Kid remarked, intrigued. "That guy's body is so tough, the bullets didn't even leave a mark. It's like steel."
Kira, standing beside him, suddenly trembled. He gasped, "That man is..."
Kid turned to him. "Do you know him?"
"How could I not know him?" Kira swallowed hard. "Kid, look carefully. There's no way you don't recognize him."
Kid squinted and then froze, his eyes widening. His pupils shrank, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
He stammered in shock, "I didn't expect it to be him… the officer of the Four Emperors' Beast Pirates… with a bounty of 660 million berries! If it's him, no wonder the bullets didn't even faze him!"
The Straw Hat Pirates also noticed the figure in the air.
Sanji said, "That's the Moon Step, used by CP9."
Zoro's body tensed, sensing something off. One of the swords at his waist, the Sandai Kitetsu, vibrated with an ominous energy.
"I felt it," Zoro muttered, narrowing his eyes. "That man… he's carrying the sword. It's the Shodai Kitetsu, the cursed blade."
Sanji and Zoro exchanged knowing glances.
"Then that means..." they said in unison, "his identity is about to be revealed."
On the rooftop, Hawkins was both surprised and thrilled. The appearance of this man—someone known to stir up the New World—confirmed that his divination had been accurate.
Trafalgar Law and Capone Becky were left utterly stunned.
Becky glanced at Hawkins, a bit perplexed. "It seems you're not entirely just a magician."
Trafalgar Law, his hand gripping his famous sword, his expression tense, said with a serious tone:
"Hawkins, I owe you an apology. Based on what this man has done in the past, especially when he killed a Warlord of the Sea not long ago, it really is possible that he killed that Celestial Dragon."
The other Supernovas immediately recognized Alastor, their faces showing a mix of shock and disbelief.
Hawkins, though surprised, had a strange glint in his eyes. Given Alastor's current notoriety, it was impossible for anyone in the Navy to not recognize him.
The marine officer was the first to react, his face going pale as realization hit him. He stammered:
"You… you… you're Alastor, one of the Flying Six of the Beasts Pirates! The one who killed Moonlight Moria! Why are you here?"
Immediately, the officer slapped himself, as if to say, "Is there any point in asking this now?" The more urgent matter was to stay vigilant, to ensure the safety of Saint Charles Rose.
Alastor, however, paid no attention to the frantic Navy officer. He calmly surveyed the situation, his gaze drifting toward the pirate ships in the harbor. "So, all the Supernovas have arrived in Chambord," he thought.
He hadn't planned on running into Boa Hancock, the troublesome woman, but now that he was here, he couldn't avoid the confrontation. What surprised him more, though, was the presence of a Celestial Dragon.
Alastor's eyes landed on Saint Charles Rose, and an intense feeling of disgust surged within him. He could barely hold back his nausea.
At that moment, Charles Rose, who was oblivious to the impending danger, looked up and noticed someone standing above him. Angrily, he shouted:
"How dare you, lowly people! Come down here and kneel before me! How dare you stand taller than me?!"
Alastor's patience snapped. "Shut up!" he barked, his sword, the Shodai Kitetsu, unsheathing with a flash. A menacing aura radiated from him, and a terrifying pressure filled the air.
Hawkins, watching from the rooftop, felt a rush of excitement. "He's going to do it! I knew my divination was correct!"
Capone Becky paused his cigar and muttered, "Is there really such a crazy person?"
Trafalgar Law's heart pounded. He quickly took a step back, whispering to his companions, "We need to be ready to retreat. We're submarines, after all. If things go south, we can leave Chambord Island and head for the New World without coating."
Alastor was well aware that the death of a Celestial Dragon would send shockwaves through the world. The World Government would never let it slide, and soon, the Navy Admirals would arrive.
The marine officer, trembling in fear, shouted, "What do you want to do? Saint Charles Rose is a Celestial Dragon, a noble of the world!"
Alastor cast a cold glance at the officer. His Conqueror's Haki crushed the officer's spirit, silencing him instantly. The man stood frozen, unable to speak a word.
Meanwhile, Charles Rose continued his rant, oblivious to the danger he was in. "Celestial Dragon? You're dirtying my eyes!"
Alastor's patience wore thin. With a single swift movement, his sword cleaved the air.
"Ghost Qi, One Sword Style: Purgatory, Shura!"
A blast of black and red sword light shot from his blade, streaking toward Charles Rose with the speed of death. The sword light sliced through the air, cleaving the Celestial Dragon in half in a single instant.
The force of the attack didn't stop there. The sword light continued forward, cutting through the massive ship beneath Charles Rose. The luxurious vessel was torn asunder, sinking into the sea as the waters turned crimson with the Celestial Dragon's blood.
"My lord," Marigold said, her voice laced with concern as she looked toward the island. "If that man enters the Chambord Islands, the island is so large, and there are so many people. It will be impossible to find him."
On the Perfume Snake, Marigold exchanged a glance with Sandersonia. They both knew they needed to approach the Empress carefully. After all, Alastor was a cadre of the Beasts Pirates, and it wouldn't be wise to make enemies unnecessarily.
The main concern was that Alastor had not caused any harm to Amazon Lily but had stayed on Beasts Island for a while. The two women did not want to antagonize him unless it was absolutely necessary.
Neither of them dared to directly suggest anything to the Empress, knowing she was a proud and strong-willed leader. Instead, they spoke in subtler terms, trying to persuade her gently.
The Empress sat gracefully, her long black hair fluttering in the sea breeze. Her beauty was overwhelming, but so was her commanding presence. No one dared approach her easily.
While she didn't respond verbally, the fact that she hadn't objected to Marigold's suggestion meant she had tacitly agreed. It was a small victory for the two sisters.
Marigold and Sandersonia exchanged a relieved look. They had grown up alongside the Empress and could read her thoughts even without words.
The tension eased, and as the atmosphere relaxed, Sandersonia couldn't help but smile. "By the way, that man's physical strength is incredible. He's been flying with Moon Steps for so long without showing signs of fatigue."
