Chapter 51: Linlin Conqueror’s Haki
“It won’t work, we’re not ready, and we’re out of ingredients...”
At that moment, Streusen, wearing his chef's attire and drenched in sweat, rushed out from the kitchen. Although he had expected Linlin's food cravings to act up eventually, he hadn’t anticipated that they would flare up so soon this time. Based on previous episodes, her food cravings should have been spaced out by at least six months, and there were still two or three months left.
“What?”
“Not enough ingredients? Are you joking?”
“Wait, Streusen, aren’t you a user of the Cook-Cook Fruit?”
“Yeah, with your ability, you should be able to produce any ingredient in the world, right?”
Hearing Streusen’s words, members of the Fallen Angel Pirates and Dreamland couldn’t help but panic. In past episodes, unless El himself came back to personally subdue Linlin by knocking her out, she would continue her rampage until she had tasted the food she craved. Her Mythical Zoan: Vampire form made her virtually invincible, and if she completely lost control, anything in her path—whether human, creature, or even Sea Kings—could be drained of blood, continuously fueling her energy.
Even after days of nonstop destruction, she wouldn’t tire out. If no one intervened, who knew what unimaginable devastation might follow?
“The food I make with the Cook-Cook Fruit can’t compare to real top-tier ingredients!” Streusen, wiping the sweat from his brow, responded anxiously. “In recent years, as Hell Trading Company has grown, Linlin has tasted foods from all over the world, and her palate has become more discerning. Ordinary caramel cream puffs won’t satisfy her or stop the cravings.”
“Where’s my caramel cream puff tower? Hand it over!!!”
At that moment, a piercing scream rang out, accompanied by a terrifying burst of Conqueror’s Haki.
“Thud, thud...”
Dozens of children and younger, less powerful members of Dreamland rolled their eyes back and collapsed, unconscious. Only those like Longleg Tribe’s Rock, Fish-men Tribe’s Jien, and Snakeneck Tribe’s Barry, as well as other more powerful members who had joined the Fallen Angel Pirates after rigorous selection, managed to stay conscious.
Although the Fallen Angel Pirates hadn’t yet expanded significantly, El adhered to the principle of quality over quantity. Every new member had significant strength, and after years of rigorous training under El, most had mastered part or even all of the Six Powers and were proficient in Haki. Hell Trading Company had also spent considerable sums over the years, acquiring various Devil Fruits, many of which were used to enhance the power of the Fallen Angel Pirates. Some of the stronger members were now as powerful as Navy vice-admirals, while even the weaker ones could rival navy commodores, so they weren’t knocked out by Linlin’s sudden burst of Conqueror’s Haki.
“Damn it, it’s Linlin’s Conqueror’s Haki...”
“Hurry, everyone, get the unconscious kids onto the ships!”
“This is a serious problem!”
Rock, Jien, and other veteran members, who had been promoted by El due to their exceptional abilities, quickly calmed down despite the grave situation. They immediately began organizing the evacuation, directing others to carry the unconscious children to the massive warships docked at the coast, bearing the Fallen Angel Pirates' flag.
These warships, crafted by shipwrights recruited from around the world by Hell Trading Company over the past few years, were made from the legendary and highly resilient Treasure Tree Adam. This made them immensely valuable and almost indestructible. Although they were only a small part of the fleet, the ships had already been put into service.
While the Treasure Tree Adam was considered incredibly rare and valuable across the world, it was of little concern to the Fallen Angel Pirates, thanks to El’s foresight. Years ago, El had bought Treasure Tree Adam seeds from the black market, and using his Mythical Zoan: Feathered Serpent powers, he spent time growing more than ten of these enormous trees on the islands of the Calm Belt.
Each Treasure Tree Adam was considered irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind, not because its seeds were rare, but because the trees took millennia to grow. Every Treasure Tree Adam alive today had witnessed the rise and fall of history, weathered countless storms and wars, and had stood strong for over a thousand or even ten thousand years.
However, for the Fallen Angel Pirates, the once-priceless Treasure Tree Adam had become commonplace. In fact, they had so much of the material that they even sold it on the market. Although the quality of their Treasure Tree Adam might be slightly inferior due to its shorter lifespan, the difference was minimal, and it was still far superior to other shipbuilding materials. Hell Trading Company regularly auctioned off small amounts of this wood at a price just below that of the original, making a significant profit each time.
In short, it was a money-making machine.
For example, the massive tree in the center of this island, which stretched toward the sky, was one of the Treasure Tree Adams El had cultivated from a seed. It took him about six months to grow it to its full size, ensuring it retained its strength and durability. In terms of scale, it rivaled the original Treasure Tree Adam and perhaps even surpassed it in some ways.
