The Strongest Quirk in My Hero Academia

Chapter 53: Chapter 48

In the early morning, Yuki slowly opened her eyes and saw Akira sitting cross-legged nearby, deep in thought.

"Akira..." she whispered softly.

Akira immediately opened his eyes and leaned closer, his face full of concern. "Sister Yuki, how are you feeling?"

"I'm okay... Did you rescue me?" Yuki asked, though she doubted it. Akira had just started at UA High School, and she didn't think he'd be capable of handling a fire rescue. She only knew his quirk enhanced his sprint speed.

Akira chose not to respond directly. Instead, he asked, "Do you remember who did this?"

A trace of horror flashed in Yuki's eyes as she recalled the incident. She shook her head, saying, "He was wearing a mask shaped like a cartoon character. He was tall and burly, with a flame-type quirk. That's all I remember."

"A flame quirk... wearing a mask... tall and burly..." Akira repeated, committing these details to memory for future investigation.

"Akira, leave this to the police. You're still a student—don't get involved," Yuki urged, speaking softly and coughing occasionally due to weakness.

Akira looked at her with concern, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Don't worry, Sister Yuki, I won't do anything reckless."

Yuki nodded. At that moment, the attending physician arrived to check her vitals. After examining her, he turned to Akira. "She's stable. You can handle her discharge paperwork now."

Thanking the doctor, Akira handled the discharge process, then brought Yuki back to his place to rest.

Later, he stepped out to buy some food and fruit. As he passed the burned-down convenience store, he saw it reduced to ashes. It looked like nothing more than a charred coal mine.

At that moment, several police cars pulled up. Four or five officers exited and approached Akira. "According to witness accounts, the victim here is known to you, correct?"

Akira glared at the lead officer. "You're calling *her* the victim?"

"Watch your tone!" Two policemen stepped forward, preparing to restrain him.

"Stand down," the lead officer instructed. He then apologized to Akira, "Sorry, that came out wrong. Can you come with us for questioning?"

Seeing the officer's respectful attitude, Akira nodded. "Fine, but let me bring some food to my sister first. Just wait here."

"No problem," the officer replied, showing no sign of worry that Akira might try to flee.

After delivering Yuki's food and instructing her to stay home, Akira went with the police to their station. He then contacted All Might, hoping to resolve matters today instead of needing to return the next day.

Inside the police station, Akira and All Might sat across from the police chief.

The chief, with a serious expression, began, "Let's first address the Villain Alliance incident. You killed 37 enemy agents. Normally, that would warrant immediate disciplinary action. However, given the extreme circumstances and the overuse of your quirk, we've decided to keep it to a three-month probation period at UA High School. During this time, any misuse of your quirk will lead to expulsion."

Akira stayed silent, understanding the gravity of his actions.

The police chief continued, "Do you have anything to add?"

All Might remained quiet. Though he was Akira's mentor and acknowledged the severity of taking so many lives, he also recognized that Akira's actions had protected many others. All Might believed that, if guided well, Akira had extraordinary potential—but if not, he could be a powerful adversary.

Akira finally spoke. "No, I accept the probation. But I want you to find the person who targeted my sister."

The chief exchanged a glance with All Might, both recognizing the intensity in Akira's eyes.

"We'll investigate," the chief assured him, "but you need to refrain from taking matters into your own hands. Remember, you're under probation."

"In that case, I'll take my leave," Akira said, standing up.

"Akira," All Might called, "Please keep your emotions in check. The police will handle things from here. Don't stress yourself."

All Might knew that Akira's connection to Yuki was strong, despite their recent acquaintance. This bond had clearly become important to him.

"Thank you, All Might," Akira replied, recognizing that All Might might have influenced the leniency of his probation.

After Akira left, All Might turned to the chief and bowed. "Thank you for understanding."

The chief was silent for a moment before responding, "He's got potential. I'll make sure he stays on the right path."

"Thank you," All Might said again, deeply appreciative.

This exchange reaffirmed the dedication All Might had for his students, particularly those like Akira who showed both remarkable promise and a fierce sense of loyalty.
