The Vice Captain of the WhiteBeard Pirates

Chapter 272: The Commander-In-Chief

[ Ken POV ]

Mariejois

I raced towards the Holy City. I couldn't afford to waste any time after learning about the sudden developments that had happened upon our arrival.

However, it simply didn't make any sense to me, and I had no time to process what was going on. I could only hope that Commander would come out of this just fine.

The only thing that I could do at the moment was to follow his orders and grab the woman named Ginny out of her cell. I expanded my Observation throughout the city as I tried to find the aura of a woman who looked to be in a cell.

I sighed.

"This is going to be next to impossible....why does everywhere damn near have some woman locked up in a cell?" I asked frustratedly as I scratched my head.

I needed a starting point if I wanted to find her. However, looking around, I knew that it was going to be easier said than it was going to be done.

My senses warned me of an incoming danger, and I immediately obeyed them before leaping to the side to avoid the sudden attack that came my way.

The ground exploded where I had previously been. Looking at the source of the attack, my brow let out a cold sweat.

"This...this is crazy," I grumbled as I stood face to face with the former Fleet-Admiral of the Marines.

"To think that the Lightning Tribulation would be the one to intrude on the residency of the Celestial Dragons.....how peculiar," Former Fleet Admiral Kong muttered as he flexed his muscles. "I suppose that I should apprehend you accordingly, but it would be easier if you were to surrender yourself quietly."

"Sorry, but I have things to do that aren't concerning going to prison. So I'll gladly decline!" I shouted before appearing right behind him and landing a kick to his head.

His head was engulfed with an explosion as smoke rose from it. I wasn't sure whether I landed a significant hit on him, but I hoped that I had managed to do something.

Suddenly, before I could even react, I felt something grab my extended foot.

"Is this all that you have to offer? I'm quite disappointed; I expected the Storm Dragon to have much stronger troops," Former Fleet Admiral Kong remarked.

The action immediately cleared out the smoke that had been covering. I couldn't even say anything before the man tossed me like a ragdoll toward a nearby building.

I broke out of the rubble before summoning lightning nearby. Three clones began appearing, taking the same appearance as I did.

The clones already knew what they had to do. They immediately got up and began to rush at the Former Fleet Admiral, attacking him from three different sides as they tried to roughen him up.

I had turned into lightning and was circling around the entire fight scene. One thing that Miss Stussy had taught us back on that island when we were training is that if we faced a strong opponent, we should always try to find a weakness.

That was exactly what I was doing.

"Hm? Why are you sending even lesser versions of yourself to face me? Have you no pride as a fighter?" Former Fleet Admiral Kong asked as his eyes landed right on my zooming figure.

'what the-?" I couldn't even finish that thought as he grabbed me and forced me back to my human form, thanks to his Armament Haki.

"If you're going to fight me, then fight me like a man!" Kong yelled as he threw me through a couple of more buildings.

I heard numerous screams around me as I passed through multiple buildings.

I eventually managed to stop inside a building. Within it, a man with glasses was getting sucked off by some random slave that was chained up. I had the unfortunate experience of landing right next to them.

They all screamed in fright as they immediately stopped what they were doing and promptly began scurrying away.

"Who the hell are you?! What the fuck are you doing in my-" The World Noble was about to start yelling, but I turned him to ashes with my lightning.

"Shut up," I muttered annoyedly as I looked right ahead of me.

Kong remained standing a distance away. He didn't even seem fazed by the fact that a World Noble had died under his watch. Instead, his gaze was solely fixated on me with a stoic expression.

I was not about to lose right here.

I summoned a lightning spear before charging right at him. I flung the spear right ahead of me before launching a kick right on the side of his neck.

Kong had managed to deflect the spear with an Armament Haki-clad forearm, but he barely managed to block my follow-up kick. The ground around us cracked as my attack collided with him.

"Ho? Were you holding back? You're strength is pretty decent," Kong remarked.

"I'm not going to fall here!" I growled at the intensity of the lightning.

I summoned more lightning spears around me before throwing them right at him.

However, Kong easily weaved through the lightning before cocking his fist back and coating it with lightning. I had to use my Observation Haki to elementise the area where Kong was going to land a hit.

Even when I did that, I still suffered a severe blowback from it. I ended up getting sent back a few meters before I regained my composure.

However, I wasn't done there yet.

"Fenris!!"

I sent a huge blast of lightning right at the sky. Causing the sky to darken as rain slowly started pouring down on the ground.

The former Fleet-Admiral looked up to the sky as his eyes narrowed slightly.

I immediately took the opportunity while he was distracted to lunge at him. A huge spear of lightning had already formed within my grasp as I aimed the tip right at Kong's heart, but before I even could-

"It's time to finish things up," Kong muttered.

He kicked the ground before soaring upwards. I tried following him, but the winds that he created with his impromptu ascension threw me back.

'Fucking monster!'

He wasn't done just yet.

A huge wolf made of lightning was slowly beginning to descend from the heavens. I had used quite a bit of energy to create it. However, I only managed to create the front half of the wolf.

The wolf was going to open its mouth and charge up a huge ball of lightning. The wolf was big enough to encompass the entire city.

Yet, the former Fleet Admiral didn't seem fazed by what was happening.

He easily cocked his hand back; it was already black because he had coated it with Armament Haki. However, looking at the ominous glow that his arm had, it was obvious that he had also covered it with Advanced Armament as well.

I needed to stop him before it was too late.

I turned into lightning and chased right after him. Channeling more lightning around me and flinging it right at him. Fenris was supposed to be a move that finished off the opponent in its entirety, but it looked like this old monster was going to punch it to oblivion.

The lightning would dissolve within the man's skin as soon as it made contact and right as he was up close and personal with the lightning wolf. He opened his mouth and said-

"Critical Impact"
