Chapter 27
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 27: Pathetic. Floor 30 Boss
After rescuing the missing people, I decided to take them to the Adventurers’ Guild first, but then I remembered something important.
“Oh. I need to heal my arm first. ‘Full Recovery’!”
Full Recovery instantly heals any injury as long as you’re not dead and can even restore lost limbs in a flash.
However, when healing missing body parts, the amount of magic power consumed varies according to the limb, making it a tricky spell to use during battles.
I flexed my restored arm, confirming I could move it without any problems. Then, using a disguise spell to transform into Eir, I headed back to the Adventurers’ Guild.
Upon arriving at the guild, I instructed the people I rescued to wait outside while I went in to look for Sheila.
“Ms. Sheila!”
“Oh, Eir! What happened to you? You look terrible!”
“Oh, don’t mind the injuries; they’re healed now. But I’ve found the missing people and need you to verify them.”
“Eh! You already found them?! I’ll head there right away, so please wait a moment!”
Sheila hurriedly went deeper into the guild, returning with several staff members, a request form, and a list of missing people.
“Thank you for waiting.”
“No problem! Let’s head outside to meet them.”
Once outside with Sheila and the staff, we compared the names on the request form with those on the list and confirmed each one.
There were about twenty people, so it took a bit of time, but we finished quickly.
The recently kidnapped individuals weren’t listed, but rumors of the returned missing people spread rapidly, and soon their families arrived to confirm their identities.
“Eir! Thank you so much! Thanks to you, everyone is safe!”
As Sheila said this, the other staff members around me bowed their heads in gratitude.
“No, I just fulfilled a request. More importantly, I’d like to report this to Mr. Void. Is that alright?”
“Yes. The Guild Master was anticipating to hear from you, so if you’re okay with it, shall we proceed?”
“Please do.”
“Understood.”
Just as I was about to enter the guild after Sheila, Miria called out to me from behind.
“Lord Luis, what should I do?”
“You can head home. Lana was worried sick about you not coming back. Go show her your face.”
“Thank you for your consideration.”
Lana is Miria’s mother, and since she had been fretting over her daughter’s absence, I told her to go home first.
Once Miria acknowledged my words with a bow, she headed back toward the mansion.
After confirming that, I entered the guild and made my way to Mr. Void’s room.
“Sorry for the wait.”
“No worries. First, please have a seat.”
Following Mr. Void’s invitation, I sat on the sofa like before, while Sheila placed a drink in front of me.
“So, what exactly happened?”
“Well, it seems the culprits are a group worshiping the Dragon Emperor. According to them, they intended to use the captured people as sacrifices to resurrect the sealed Dragon Emperor.”
“The Dragon Emperor? And sealed? Phantom species are legendary beings, and we don’t even know if they actually exist.”
“Right. But this is just my hypothesis; if phantom species truly exist and all are sealed due to something in the past…”
“I see. If this happened during ancient civilization times, there would be even less accurate records remaining. So now we can’t even confirm their existence. But how did those guys get their information…?”
Just as Mr. Void said, it’s still unclear how the ones aiming to revive the phantom species obtained that information.
Moreover, while I was speculating to Mr. Void, I was convinced that other than the Demon King, other phantom species existed.
After all, in my previous life, the Demon King was real, and he had hinted at the existence of other phantom species with his words.
(If the ones the Demon King was referring to are indeed other phantom species…)
“I see. I’ll look into it on my end as well.”
“Sure, please do. Also, there are likely others plotting to revive the Dragon Emperor, so please remain cautious in case there are groups trying to resurrect other phantom species.”
“Understood.”
“Then I’ll take my leave now.”
“Ah. You’ve been a great help today. Be careful on your way back.”
“Thank you.”
After being seen off by Mr. Void and Sheila, I left the guild, stretched out significantly, and decided to head home for some well-deserved rest.
Back at the mansion, I was welcomed by Lana and Miria, with Lana thanking me repeatedly.
However, since my helping Miria was merely coincidental, being thanked this profusely made me feel uncomfortable.
I managed to calm Lana down and returned to my room, lying on my bed while contemplating the days to come.
(Tomorrow, I’d like to clear the Icy Fake. Fiera has also gotten used to things, so I’ll dive into it properly too. Once that’s done, we can finally set out on our journey; the only question is, where to go first?)
Setting out on a journey would be my first time, so just thinking about it sent waves of excitement through me.
Though I only had two years to wander, I still wanted to visit every place possible as I drifted off to sleep, surrendering to my fatigue.
The next morning, as usual, I left the mansion leaving behind a clone.
Today was the day I would dive into the dungeon with Fiera, so I headed to the inn where she was staying.
Upon arriving, I found Fiera waiting for me, all set as usual.
“Good morning.”
“Mm. Good morning.”
“Do you need to prepare anything else?”
“I’m good.”
“Alright. Then let’s go!”
After exchanging light greetings, we jogged toward the dungeon to warm up.
Once we stepped onto the teleportation magic circle near the dungeon entrance, we teleported to the 21st floor of the dungeon.
“Fiera, I need to discuss something.”
“What is it?”
“Regarding today’s plans, I intend to clear this dungeon today. We don’t have much time, and I want to set out on a journey soon. So, I’d like to actively participate in the battle today, is that okay?”
“Mm. That’s fine with me.”
“Good. Also, take this.”
“Thanks!”
I handed Fiera a few potions from my bag, and together we dashed into the dungeon.
We weren’t using physical enhancement, but our running speed was still impressively quick.
Having gotten used to the snow from the earlier expeditions, we continued without any problems.
We charged past slow-moving monsters and took down swift ones with our swords and gauntlets as we advanced further.
Before long, we reached the boss room on the 30th floor without hesitation.
The boss of the 30th floor was the Frost Knight. A humanoid monster clad in armor, wielding a sword in its right hand and a shield in its left.
It was the first time I’d face this monster, but I’d heard it employs skilled swordsmanship and ice magic to attack, and it’s relatively intelligent, making it a pretty tough opponent.
It’s ranked among the top tier of A-rank monsters, supposedly even stronger than the ice snake Fiera had defeated previously.
“Fiera. You take the front and finish it off. I’ll take care of its magic, so don’t hold back.”
“Understood.”
As soon as Fiera heard my words, she boosted her physical abilities and charged.
The Frost Knight launched ice spears and needles at Fiera, but I countered them with my fire magic.
When Fiera got close, the Frost Knight drew its sword to attack, but she easily dodged.
It swung down, slashed sideways, and thrust at her, feinting here and there, but nothing worked against the focused Fiera.
Realizing that its sword attacks couldn’t hit Fiera, the Frost Knight began to attack with ice spears while still slashing with its sword, but I shattered those with my lightning magic.
Whenever it used magic, I would break it down, and Fiera’s splendid swordsmanship wouldn’t work against it.
Thus, the Frost Knight was pushed back increasingly until, in a moment of vulnerability, it was crushed by Fiera’s full-strength strike, reducing it to mere magic stones.
The Frost Knight surely must have been strong against a single opponent, but against a well-coordinated duo, it didn’t pose much of a threat.
“Well done! Let’s take a short break before moving on to the next part.”
“Got it!”
We rested for about fifteen minutes, then continued smoothly through the 31st floor, eventually reaching the 40th floor.
