chapter 30

Watching Gu Ming disappear from this place, the burden in the hearts of the brothers finally eased.
“Big brother, it seems he really left.”
Steel Cannon nudged Mountain Cannon’s arm.
“I’m not blind. I can see that.”
From Mountain Cannon’s tone, it was clear he still held some resentment towards Steel Cannon.
At this moment, Iron Cannon came over and said to them,
“Brothers, we should leave quickly. It’s not wise to stay here for long.”
The two nodded in agreement. With a leader-like demeanor, Mountain Cannon said,
“Iron cannon is right. We shouldn’t linger here. Let’s hurry up and leave before that plague god decides to return.”
As soon as these words fell from his lips, the three immediately started running in the opposite direction of Gu Ming without any hesitation or delay – as if they were being chased by a flood or wild beast.
…
On his journey, Gu Ming moved through trees like a fleeting shadow – frantically searching for someone.
While looking everywhere for Tina’s traces he didn’t forget to ask his system if there was any help it could provide
“System! System! Give me a tool that can locate their position! Damn it! Say something you dead machine!”
Unfortunately, this system seemed as good as dead with no intelligence AI function at all; regardless of how much Gu Ming cursed at it internally there was no response whatsoever.
Luckily after some time Gu Ming noticed that Tina’s flame marker had suddenly brightened again which eased his anxious heart somewhat.
“Huh… scared me half to death… damn… I can’t wait anymore… This place isn’t 100% safe for them… I must find them immediately…”
Gu Ming’s eyes scanned around like radars with full 360-degree coverage leaving no blind spots unchecked.
Persistence pays off; after a long search effort Gu Ming finally found some clues.
Observing the pile of rubble beside him, Gu Ming noticed that the gaps were indeed caused by the meteor shower. He hurriedly searched the surroundings for Tina’s traces.
Following the signs left by the debris, Gu Ming step by step arrived at the foot of the tall mountain.
“Flying”
Gu Ming soared into the air, continuously scanning the mountain peaks with his eyes until he saw a cave entrance marked by a familiar scent. Only then did his expression finally ease. Using his flying ability, he landed smoothly at the entrance.
Gu Ming’s steps were light, not disturbing the sleeping Tina. Watching her soft and squishy appearance, occasionally smacking her lips, he couldn’t help but recall their first meeting.
Back then, she was timid, insecure, clingy. Even after moving into the big house, she felt no sense of security all day long. A tiny thing, she would follow behind him every day, calling him “big brother,” melting his heart.
In the blink of an eye, two years had passed, and the little girl had suddenly transformed into a young lady. The daily companionship over two years had shed her age-inappropriate immaturity. Of course, her development was also very good, inexplicably so for someone only fifteen or sixteen. Her personality had become gentle, mature, and strong. But Gu Ming knew that Tina and Mia’s childhood traumas had not fully healed. Like Tina now, seeing cages and whips always made her subconsciously clutch her hand. And Mia, despite her daily laughter, couldn’t shake off the shadow of being bullied by her tribe, which made her too scared to make friends at the academy. Thinking of this, Gu Ming felt a silent heartache. All he could do was accompany them every day, bringing them a sense of security, letting them overcome the demons in their hearts.
“Master… brother”
Watching Tina talk in her sleep, Gu Ming gently touched her forehead, his eyes filled with undeniable affection.
“Sleep well, brother will always be by your side.”
“Master… brother, that’s not okay”
Gu Ming’s face darkened, never expecting such a situation, only wishing Batman would whisk him away quickly.
“Master brother, hehe, you let me catch you, now I’ll hehehe”
Suddenly, Gu Ming felt that Tina wasn’t so innocent anymore. What kind of perverse game was she playing in her dream, leaving such a drooling mouth?
“Damn, I need to keep a closer eye on her. She’s becoming more like Mia. She used to be so cute, so shy, so lovely. Now look at her, sigh!”
“Master brother, hehehehehe”
What followed, Gu Ming couldn’t bear to watch. He really couldn’t take it anymore, with her disheveled clothes and mouth still… and those two dangerous weapons, her s*xiness meter was off the charts.
Gu Ming, feeling truly uncomfortable in his lower half, covered her with a blanket and placed a pillow under her head, then quickly left the cave to start practicing outside.
…
Hours later, Tina slowly opened her eyes from slumber, her first instinct upon seeing the sheets was to swiftly grasp the sword in her hand, only relaxing when she felt a familiar presence.
Bounding out of bed, she emerged from the cave and gazed at the silhouette on the rock ahead, the one she yearned for day and night, and her face instantly beamed with a radiant smile.
“Big brother master, why are you outside?” she called out.
Gu Ming turned his head and said with a laugh, “The weather’s nice today, so naturally… haha.”
He scratched the back of his head to hide his embarrassment, a small lying gesture that Tina easily saw through. Though she didn’t know what had happened, she didn’t call him out, only speaking softly.
“Big brother master, hug me.”
Without waiting for Gu Ming’s consent, Tina embraced him tightly.
Gu Ming gently stroked her hair, “You’ve suffered.”
“Not at all, I’ve reached the fourth level and will soon catch up to you, big brother master, hehe.”
Watching her playful demeanor, Gu Ming felt a flutter in his heart.
“Good, I’ll be waiting. Oh, by the way, have you encountered any danger these past few days?”
“Yes, I found a large bottle of Flower Demon’s Tears, which I wanted to give to you and Mia, but something unexpected happened on the way. I ran into two bandits…”
As Tina recounted the details, Gu Ming came to understand the gist of the events. Although Tina didn’t explicitly describe her ordeal, Gu Ming could imagine the difficulty she faced escaping from a fourth-level mage.
Fortunately, they had learned the Meteor Four Styles together, or the consequences would have been unthinkable.
“This is outrageous, a viscount dares to be so arrogant, to attempt murder in public, utterly insane. Come on, I’ll take you back for revenge. Damn it, those two little turtles, if we don’t beat the crap out of them, they won’t know their own names,” Gu Ming was truly enraged and ready to kill. To dare lay hands on his family was to touch his reverse scale.
Seeing Gu Ming about to draw his sword without a second word, Tina felt both warmth and worry, quickly grabbing his hand.
“Big brother master, no, killing is not allowed in the secret realm. If we’re discovered, the academy will abandon us. Besides, look, I’m fine, and my strength has even increased because of this. It’s a blessing in disguise. Let’s just let it be, better to avoid trouble.”
Gu Ming retorted with a somewhat heavy tone,
“Forget it! It can’t just end like this. Isn’t it said that every few years, there are always a few people who can’t come out of the academy’s secret realm? Well, they’re just this year’s lucky ones!”
“Master Brother, calm down. We don’t even know where they are now. Let’s talk about it if we meet them in the future. Let’s go find Miya first.”
Hearing Tina say this, Gu Ming finally let go of his anger.
“You’re right, I was getting my priorities mixed up. But this isn’t over; even if I have to do it at night, I’ll bag those two.”
Tina giggled and nodded her head before clenching her small fist and pretending to look fierce.
“Alright Master Brother, when the time comes I’ll take care of the second level one and you handle the fourth level one. United as husband and wife, we’ll teach them a lesson.”
Seeing Tina joking around like this calmed Gu Ming’s restless heart.
“Let’s go find Miya then.”
“Mm.”
With that said, they set off towards the southwest.
