At this moment in Fis’s mind Gerumu who was not completely dead yet was screaming madly,

At this point Gu Ming interrupted the two who were still arguing internally,

“I recognize you. One of the seven leaders in Demon King’s army – Wrath.”

Fis’s eyes slightly cooled down. In his view it was impossible for anyone in this secret realm to know his identity but now reality stood before him making him slightly more cautious towards Gu Ming. If there is one person who recognizes him then there would be a second one and a third one.

But he had misunderstood people in this secret realm. As for why Gu Ming said he recognized him – how could he not? This thing is actually an incarnation body belonging to Gu Ming’s original host Lan Si who was merely a follower of demons at best but Gerumu had already become an actual demon entity himself. Is this what distinguishes genius from waste? He wondered how he ended up running off into the Cretan territory.

“Little brat, who are you and how do you know me?”

“I am your ancestor.”

Gu Ming brandished his sword forward, Star Rain and Devil’s Thunder were unleashed upon him without mercy.

Fis looked up at the thunder in the sky, unfazed, he tossed his Death Scythe upwards.

“Death Scythe, slice!”

“What?”

Gu Ming’s eyelids twitched. He quickly dodged the flying blood blade and used Star Defense to withstand part of the impact.

“Damn.”

Fis looked at him with a mocking smile.

“Haha, you thought I would fall for the same trick twice? Ignorant child.”

After testing earlier, Gu Ming understood how tough this opponent was. Up until now, this duel had become a real fight to death. The only strategy left was to give it his all in order to defeat him here and now.

“Huh. So that move is useless now? Then try this one: Meteor Four Styles – Falling Star.”

Gu Ming drained all of his magic power to unleash this move that resembled a falling meteor.

“Ah! This is Sword Saint’s Meteor Sword Technique!”

Dust flew around Fis as he followed the rule of ‘where there’s smoke there are no casualties’. Fis activated Wrathful Sin; although he didn’t die from it, his arm got hit by a sword causing minor injuries.

“I must say you’re quite extraordinary,” Fis said. “If it had been a weaker sixth-rank fighter who took that blow just now they’d probably be dead already or severely injured at least. You did well but unfortunately for you…you met me. To show my respect I’ll make your death quick.”

Having exhausted himself using Falling Star technique Gu Ming sat on the ground looking as if he had anticipated this outcome all along while watching countdown timer on system screen 10…9…8…7…6…5…4….3….2….1…

At last second Gu Ming revealed an immaculate smile

“It’s not decided who will die yet. Hey, big fool, have you ever heard of a man who can summon gods?”

Gu Ming’s sudden question made Fis feel something unusual. Without saying another word he was ready to kill him right there.

“Stop your nonsense! Slice! Die!”

Collapsed on the ground, Gu Ming had already tapped the skill on the system with his hand.

“Today, you’ll see, you wretched grandson, the Dimensional Summon.”

A massive stone slab rose out of thin air, standing erect in front of Gu Ming, shielding him from a fatal blow.

“O great Titan who governs the earth, break the locks that seal the rifts of this world, come to my side, and bring destruction to my enemies, Earthbound God. Gaia.”

As Gu Ming’s summoning chant concluded, one of the three gems on the stone slab lit up, emitting a black light. The slab slowly transformed into a dark portal, its aura so chilling it could stand one’s hair on end.

A colossal hand emerged from the dark portal, grasping the ground, attempting to crawl out.

Phis looked at the enormous creature before him, its black body humanoid in shape, with black wings, and a face devoid of mouth and nose, with only a single zero-shaped eye. truly bizarre.

It sent a shiver through his soul.

Name: Earthbound God. Gaia

Race: Phantom Race

Level: 70

Skills: Silent Black Hole (a small black hole that can devour everything, note: this skill requires certain conditions to unlock), Taint of Corruption (can taint the magic power of those attacked), Annihilation Halo (eyes can emit a halo of destruction), End’s Embrace (can merge with the user, unlocking greater power)

“Gaia, attack for me!”

The Annihilation Halo and Gaia’s massive form prevented Phis from getting anywhere near Gu Ming. The power of the seventh tier left him in utter disarray, with the faint thought of retreat creeping in.

But Gu Ming wouldn’t give him that chance. Gaia’s Taint of Corruption continuously polluted his own magic power and aura, making escape difficult. Meanwhile, Gu Ming wasn’t idle; he absorbed magic, steadily drawing in the surrounding tree spirits, slowly regaining his own state. The situation quickly became one-sided.

Those nearby who felt the sudden appearance of the monster sensed the danger of death. Some, less courageous, even shattered their own teleportation cards and teleported away.

Tina, carrying Mia on her back, also looked at the black creature. She had seen it before; it was something her master brother had summoned in the past. She wasn’t frightened by its eerie face; instead, she was concerned about Gu Ming’s current state.

Gu Ming felt fantastic now, like using a cannon to swat a mosquito. “Just now, you chased me down with your level advantage, now it’s my turn.”

“Grandson, die for grandpa.”

Black runes circled around Fis and instantly formed into a heart covered in runes. Without hesitation Fis reached out to grab it; his soul and magic power were immediately absorbed into it. The heart then quickly flew towards the altar leaving Gelmu standing there still somewhat conscious.

Boom! The destructive Zero Ring completely covered Gelmu’s body as wild energy rampaged through him for several seconds before he turned into ashes on spot.

“Ding! Experience points increased by 1000.”

Gu Ming was somewhat puzzled; was a demon army leader really worth only 1000? But as he approached and saw ashes on ground he became even more confused.

“Did it escape? That shouldn’t be right; experience points did increase which means someone must have died… What’s going on? Could this damn system be swallowing up my experience points? This is outrageous!”

No matter how much Gu Ming thought about it he couldn’t figure out what happened so decided not to think about it anymore: “Let things take their own course.” First thing first: check on Mia’s condition because nothing is more important than his wife.
