The Villainous Young Master’s Life in Another World

chapter 4

The next day arrived and Gu Ming stood outside the mansion early on, his gaze fixed ahead as if he were expecting something.

“Young master, why don’t you go back to your room and rest? I’ll call you when the master returns.”

“Grandpa Charlie, I’m not that frail; really, there’s no need.”

After spending a day together, Gu Ming had come to understand that although the original owner of this body stirred up trouble everywhere he went, fortunately his family doted on him. Even seeing his faults,

they still treated him as just a fourteen-year-old child thinking what wrong could he do…

Gu Ming truly understood what it meant to be the family’s darling.

“It seems indulgent mothers often raise spoiled children. Luckily my cotton-padded jacket is windproof. I must hold onto these days,” Gu Ming firmly thought to himself.

In the distance, a caravan slowly approached.

“Young master! Young master! The lord has returned!”

Gu Ming looked ahead where several knights clad in silver-white armor rode at the forefront followed by a luxurious horse-drawn carriage…

As the caravan reached where Gu Ming stood by its side guards gently pulled aside curtains revealing inside a middle-aged man with scars on his face who looked rather fierce.

Close behind him followed a timid girl wearing a hat.

Simon crouched down, spread his arms wide, and shouted to Gu Ming,

“Son, Daddy’s back! Come give me a hug!”

It was hard to imagine such words coming from someone with such a fierce appearance.

Gu Ming obediently hugged him. Simon, surprised by Gu Ming’s compliance today, paused and then turned to Charlie,

“Charlie, did you see that? My son hugged me on his own today; he actually hugged me!” he exclaimed with tears in his eyes (๑ó﹏ò๑).

“Master, the young master has grown up,” Charlie replied tearfully (๑ó﹏ò๑).

Gu Ming’s mouth twitched as he thought to himself,

“You two don’t need to be so dramatic.”

Quickly changing the subject, Gu Ming directed the conversation towards the girl,

“Father, this is…”

Simon looked at Mia and responded,

“This is the child of a deceased friend of mine. I only found her recently; her name is Mia.”

Turning his head towards Mia he said,

“Mia, this is my son. You two meet each other; from now on he will be your brother.”

Gu Ming walked towards Mia and extended his hand with a smile,

“Hello, Crete Gu Ming.”

Mia replied in a timid whisper,

“Mia…Mia.”

Gu Ming sized up this harmless-looking girl and couldn’t understand what terrible deeds the original owner must have committed to drive someone into such darkness.

“Mia, that’s a lovely name. I’ll remember it. From now on, you’ll be my little sister.”

Gu Ming gently patted her head and pulled out a lollipop from his backpack.

“Here, try this. It’s really tasty.”

Mia carefully took the lollipop, licked it once, and her eyes lit up with delight as she thanked him.

“Th-thank you…”

Simon watched Gu Ming’s actions with great satisfaction and nodded approvingly.

Gu Ming took Mia’s hand and said to Simon,

“Father, I’m taking little sister Mia out to play.”

“Go ahead, take good care of her.”

“I will, Father.”

In Gu Ming’s room, Mia curiously looked around at everything.

After playing with her for a while and giving her lots of treats. which brought them much closer. Gu Ming finally asked,

“Mia, why are you wearing that hat? Take it off for your brother to see; would that be okay?”

Startled, Mia placed her hands on the hat and shook her head frantically.

Of course Gu Ming knew why but he pretended to look sad,

“Don’t you like spending time with me?”

Mia shook her head again but kept one hand protectively on the hat.

“So can I see? Please?”

Mia hesitated, but still tremblingly released her hands from the hat.

“Then I’ll begin,” she said.

Mia closed her eyes tightly, clasping her hands together. After Gu Ming removed the hat, tears streamed down from the corners of Mia’s eyes.

Gu Ming finally saw what he had hoped for. Mia’s elven ears and long brown hair were revealed. He exclaimed in awe, “Wow, Mia, your hair and ears are so beautiful! Are you an elf?”

Hearing Gu Ming’s words, Mia slowly opened her eyes with tears shimmering through them and asked softly, “Am I really beautiful?”

Gu Ming nodded frantically. “Really, I have never seen a girl as beautiful as you.”

He wasn’t lying; although Mia was still just a twelve-year-old girl with delicate features and long brown hair that hinted at future beauty.

Upon hearing this, instead of stopping her tears, Mia burst into even louder sobs.

Gu Ming had never experienced anything like this before and felt somewhat helpless. He stepped forward to embrace her gently stroking her back as he comforted her. “Don’t cry; your brother will always be here to protect you.”

Feeling warmed by Gu Ming’s words, Mia hugged him back tightly. After holding each other for a while, she shyly loosened his waist but stubbornly held onto his hand.

Gu Ming smiled at the endearing sight before him and felt even more protective over this lovable young girl in front of him.

“Can you tell me why you wore the hat?” he asked gently.

With watery eyes that seemed on the verge of spilling more tears any second now looking up at him,

Seeing this made Gu Ming realize he might have been too hasty; he raised his hand to gently wipe away a tear near Mia’s eye using his sleeve saying softly,

“We won’t

Mia struggled a bit, but a glance at Gu Ming firmed her resolve, and she slowly began to speak.

“Mia used to live among the elves. The people there called Mia an outcast, a disgrace to the elves. No one would play with Mia; they threw stones at her.”

She sobbed…

“There, there,” Gu Ming consoled her. “Let’s not talk about it anymore, Mia. They are all bad people. From now on, your brother will protect you and won’t let those bullies hurt you again.”

Mia hugged Gu Ming happily and said,

“Mmm.”

Holding onto Gu Ming, Mia felt as if she had found a home. With her heartache eased, she maintained a semi-reclining position on him and fell asleep.

However, this put Gu Ming in quite an awkward position; he couldn’t move without disturbing her nor could he remain completely still. Helplessly placing his hand on her head with gentle motions like hers, he too lay down on the bed and drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Simon and Charlie came to check by the door of Gu Ming’s room midway through their conversation. Seeing this scene unfold before them brought smiles of affection to their faces.

Simon seemed reminded of something,

“I never expected them to get along so well; my son has really grown up… If only his mother knew how wonderful that would be… Ah…”

Charlie consoled him from beside,

“Sir, please restrain your grief; madam wouldn’t want

to see you like this.”

“You’re right,” Simon replied as he wiped away a tear from his eye corner. “She was always strong-willed and hated seeing me cry; surely she wouldn’t want me like this either.”

“Let’s go,” Simon said softly as they left without disturbing them further.

He gently closed the door behind them…

As the sun set in the west. on its journey toward enlightenment.

Mia opened her eyes in Gu Ming’s arms and saw him sleeping peacefully, a smile spreading across her face.

“I have a brother now, hehe (๑>؂<๑)”

It seemed that Gu Ming sensed something and woke up. Seeing Mia hugging him with a silly grin, the corners of his mouth curled slightly.

“Mia, sister, we should go have dinner. Father is probably getting anxious.”

“Mm.”

Mia got up with her cheeks flushed as if inviting a bite. Gu Ming acted as if nothing had happened, patted her little head gently, and prepared to leave.

Mia hurriedly followed and took Gu Ming’s hand. He didn’t mind it much; he thought she just felt insecure.

However, what Gu Ming didn’t notice was the faint redness appearing on the tips of Mia’s ears.
