Chapter 6: Chapter 6: More's Foul Mouth
"More, we should keep him away from us, otherwise the policeman will go crazy." Daryl's brows frowned even deeper.
Moore smiled indifferently and said, "Stupid brother, don't you know how to count? There are two of us and one of him. Do we need to be afraid of him?"
Daryl didn't say anything else. It was useless to say anything. Daryl was helpless about his brother, but what could he do? This was his brother.
"Boy, come here." Moore waved to Carl with a smile, looking like a weird uncle.
Carl walked up to Mor and looked at him.
Moore took a deep breath of cigarette and exhaled a mouthful of secondhand smoke next to Carl. The strong smell of smoke made Carl cough twice.
"Would you like one?" Moore took out a cigarette box and handed it to Carl. "Men have to smoke. Here."
Karl frowned and took the cigarette box directly, "Thank you very much."
Although Carl's body is not adapted to the smell of cigarettes and Carl has no plans to smoke, cigarettes are a non-renewable and scarce resource in the apocalypse, so don't waste them.
Moore said unhappily, "Hey, kid, I asked you to take one."
Karl smiled innocently, but had already put the cigarette box into his pocket, "But you handed me the cigarette box together with it, you won't take back what you gave me."
"Damn it, you little brat, forget it, just take it." Moore took another deep puff of the cigarette in his hand and threw the butt heavily to the ground.
"Come here, kid. I have something to ask you." Moore held Carl's shoulders and asked, "Is that policeman your father?"
Karl said truthfully, "Are you talking about Sean? He is not my father. He used to be my father's colleague."
Moore smiled maliciously, leaned close to Carl and whispered, "Boy, do you know that the policeman slept with your mother?"
It was indeed Moore, with such a foul mouth. Even though Carl had expected it and was mentally prepared, he still felt unhappy when he heard it.
Although this was true and Carl knew it, he felt very strange and uncomfortable when Moore said it.
"Hey kid, do you know what I mean?" Seeing that Carl didn't say anything, Moore was ready to add fuel to the fire.
Daryl couldn't bear to watch it anymore and couldn't help but stop him, "Okay, Moore, why are you talking to a child about this?"
"Tsk, alright, alright." Moore said to Carl unhappily, "Go play somewhere else."
"More, to be honest, I'm curious about how you are still alive today." Carl couldn't help but refute.
Of course, this is indeed the question in Carl's mind. It is a miracle that Moore can survive until now with such a character.
Mor immediately became unhappy and threatened, "Hey, what are you talking about, brat? Believe it or not, Uncle Mor will slash you."
Carl was not afraid. There were so many people in the camp, and it was impossible for Moore to attack a child like him here, otherwise it would definitely cause public outrage.
"Moir, shut up your stinky mouth. I'm not here to talk nonsense with you."
Facing Karl's ridicule, Moore was not angry. Even the anger he had just pretended to have disappeared. Instead, he said with a smile, "You have the demeanor of me in my past. Do you want to hang out with your uncle Moore? Uncle Moore will protect you."
"I told you I came here to discuss something with you." Carl said, "What are your plans, brothers?"
"What did you say?" Moore asked.
Carl repeated his question more completely, "I mean, now it's the end of the world, what are your plans, where are you going, and how are you going to survive?"
More said nonchalantly, "It doesn't matter if it's the end of the world. The world is so big, there's no place I can't go."
Daryl didn't care about his brother's stupid remarks and asked Carl, "Did you come to ask us on your own or did the policeman ask you to come?"
"Sean asked me to come." Although Carl wanted to say it was him, he knew he couldn't say that.
"Then what does he mean by asking you to ask us this? Why doesn't he come himself?"
Carl had already prepared a plan, and said directly, "We have a complete plan to get to a safe place, including how to survive in the apocalypse. Do you want to join us?"
"What plan?" Daryl threw away his cigarette and stood up.
"Sorry, I can't tell you now. At least you have to join us and gain my trust."
"Then why us? You've seen my brother's sharp tongue. I'm afraid it's hard for him to get along with others."
"Hey, hey, what are you talking about, brother?" Moore was dissatisfied. "I'm just a little bit, okay, your brother is still very kind."
Carl said, "Because you are strong enough, you are not a burden, and you can contribute to the team. But it is true that if you decide to join us, you need to restrain your sharp tongue, Moore."
"How do you prove that your plan is really okay?" Daryl asked, "We don't want to be sold out by you and help you count the money."
"When both of you are sure to join, I will give you proof. Think about it carefully and give me your answer tomorrow.
After saying this, Karl left without any hesitation.
"Hey, kid." Daryl still had a lot of questions to ask, but Carl didn't stop.
"Moir, what do you think?"
"How else can I watch? Stand and watch."
"I was referring to what the kid just said, whether you want to join them."
"My stupid brother, you won't believe what a little brat says so easily."
"But we should really think about it and consider our future plans."
"That's fine. You can join them and ask them to give up their position as the boss to Mr. Moore."
"More, times have changed. We need to stick together for warmth."
…
"Carl, Sophia is looking for you." Lori, who was dealing with the prey, looked at Carl who had just approached.
Karl nodded, "I see, Mom, are we going to have this for lunch?"
"Yes, but it will take a while. Go play with Sofia for a while. Remember not to leave the camp."
"Okay, I got it."
Carl ran back to the tent impatiently. As for looking for Sofia to play, what a joke, he was not a real child.
But what should he do now? It seems that there is nothing to do. When he has free time, Carl suddenly feels that the world is not as good as he imagined.
At least without a mobile phone, I can't play games or watch TV shows. It would be so boring when I have free time.
After thinking for a while, Carl fell asleep without knowing when, until Lori called Carl to eat at noon.
Lunch was not the barbecue feast that Carl had expected, but a cooked meal. The taste was hard to describe, probably because the conditions were not very good.
In addition, the seasoning was scarce and the fishy smell was strong, and the staple food was a kind of unidentified paste whose taste was difficult to describe, so Carl only ate a little.
Carl discovered many of the worst things in this world, such as the lack of food, the inconvenience of going to the toilet, and of course, washing, which was also extremely inconvenient.
Sitting on a bench in the open space of the camp after lunch, Carl began to feel a little regretful for coming into this world so hastily.
"Karl, where did you go this morning?" Sophia came over without knowing when.
Karl glanced at her and put his head weakly on the table, "Sorry, I was playing with Sean in the morning."
"Why don't you play with me?" Sophia said angrily.
"Sorry, I'll definitely take you with me next time."
"Okay, then Carl, let's paint."
"But I'm a little sleepy now. Can I take a nap? I'll stay here with you while you draw here."
Sofia pouted but reluctantly agreed, "Okay."
There are very few scenes about Sofia in the original drama, but in Carl's memory, the two met on the way to escape after the disaster.
Although it was only a little over a month, Carl and Sophia had a very good relationship because they spent time together every day, and they looked like childhood sweethearts.
But now Carl has no thoughts about Sophia, and even thinks that children are a trouble, even though he is also a child now.
Carl had already thought of his goal long ago. Now that he had come to this world, he had to survive in this world.
He must find a wife, and the best candidate for her is of course Miss Beth, whom I loved very much when I first watched the show.
When watching the third season, Carl and Beth exchanged glances several times. Li Mo originally thought that this couple could succeed, and he also liked this couple very much.
But no one expected that Beth found a boyfriend in the fourth season. Although he died in just one episode, Li Mo still felt very unhappy.
Carl, who had taken a nap in the morning, was not actually sleepy. He just didn't want to feel like he had no common topics with a little kid. However, he gradually felt sleepy even though he was lying there.
…
"Zombies!" "Bang!"
"Don't shoot, idiot!"
"Also! There are so many zombies!"
"Everybody run!"
Carl was suddenly awakened by a loud noise. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Lori running towards him in a hurry.
"Carl, Karl, come here quickly."
Carl woke up instantly. Something happened. Sophia, who was sitting opposite him, was a little scared, but Carol was nowhere to be found.
"Sophia, let's go." Carl grabbed Sophia and could feel Sophia's hands trembling and her body a little stiff.
"Carl." Lori rushed over and was about to hug Carl.
Karl said quickly, "Hold Sofia, I can walk by myself, she is scared."
Lori hesitated for a moment, but seeing that Carl was indeed so calm and there was no problem, she still picked up Sophia.
Bang bang bang!
Intensive gunfire came from the back of the camp. Sean was seen retreating and shooting. Besides Sean, there were also Daryl and Moore.
There were only three of them holding back the zombies, while everyone else, including some men, were running around in panic.
Sean turned around and saw Lori, and quickly yelled, "Lori, take Carl to the RV!"
Lori held Sofia in one hand and held Carl in the other and ran towards the RV.
