Chapter 69: Saints Row Arc - 3
Eli sat on the chair, carefully trying not aggravate his injuries, but he was excited to here about creating a real criminal enterprise and compare it what he knows about starting a legal business. Really anything to take his mind off Kevin. Dovak stood before them and started talking.
"First, there are similarities between starting a criminal enterprise and a legal one. However, with a criminal one there is also significant risk. For example, the brand logo, if you choose to have one, you can build a reputation faster and people will be more willing to pay more because they know what they're getting. The downside is you're effectively connecting your organization to every crime you commit and if they connect you to said organization, they can charge you for everything all at once."
"Second, now most organizations chose to specialize in either a good or a service. Same for criminal ones, only everything is illegal for one reason or another. The good news is that any racket we could create already has a market in this town. Bad news is that, any major racket in this town is already held by the competition. That means if you're really serious about taking over this town that means we have to either preform a hostile takeover of our competition and absorb them or straight up eliminate them."
"Third, taxes. Most legal companies can simply report their income and that would be the end if it. For us however, we have a catch 22. If we don't report are income then the IRS are all over us, but if we do report it, then we have to find a legitimate reason for the money or we go to jail. So we need a dozen or so small fronts companies and at least one cash heavy business."
Eli asked, "What would be the purpose of a cash business? Couldn't we just clean the money through a third party? Or I can create a program to do it for us." Dovak answered, "Well, first off, if we hire a third-party cleaner we run into the risk of two possibilities. Either they're good enough to avoid the authorities which means they will eventually get comfortable enough to steal from us, or they get caught by the authorities and rat us out. As for the program, the problem is the world is full of hackers with too much time on their hands, plus the IRS doesn't really care about our money as long as it meets three criteria.
First, no deposit can exceed 10,000 dollars. Second, every dollar has to be reported and explained, that is so they can get their cut. Finally, if a single company is suddenly doing much better or suddenly finds themselves successful when they shouldn't, that will always trigger audits.
As for the purpose of a cash heavy business it's more for the money that we receive from unconventional sources, like bank robberies or from questionable deals like ones we believe the police are involved."
Eli thought about it, in this particular area a bad hire could cost them everything, and the hacker threat could be considered more of an eventuality then a what if. He nodded his head and asked, "What would be the best place for a cash heavy purpose?" Dovak answered, "A strip club are always a safe bet, after all they are the few places people don't instinctively pay with plastic if they have a reputation to care about."
Neenah scoffed and said, "Aren't we pass the point in society were women taking their clothes off for money is still profitable." Dovak laughed and said, "Show me an obnoxiously loud activist and I'll show you a hypocrite. Also, we don't need them to be packed 24/7. If you want, we could just as easily do a male strip club."
Neenah looked annoyed, obviously the fact that here ideals meant nothing in the greater scheme of things, and the fact that there would just as many women at a male strip had upset her. Still she didn't say anything else.
Dovak then said, "The final thing we'll need are specialists." The three of them looked at each other. Then Alice asked, "What do you mean by that?" He looked at them and said, "Neenah is one of if not the best drivers in the city, you Alice are classified as a Solo or a hitter you the solution to any situation where violence is the answer, and Eli just screams bookkeeper. Now, if we were just going to be a crew who would rob banks and high-end galleries then this would be enough. However, since you want to take over the city you'll need more. More hitters and drivers, you'll also need hackers, thieves, forgers, cooks, and bootleggers just to name a few."
Eli asked, "Cooks and bootleggers?" Dovak nodded and said, "Yes, the cook or chemist is responsible for creating are own versions of the local drugs. The bootleggers well, there is always good money with making delicious but cheap copies of expensive whiskey and other alcohols."
Alice then asked, "Okay, I can see the need for more people on our level, but where do we even find them?" Dovak answered, "Well, some will need to be poached from are enemies, some we will have to recruit from legitimate businesses, and while others will come to us after we develop the appropriate reputation. Speaking of, there are two ways to develop a reputation quickly in this town. The first, for those with no names. We have the murder circus known as Boot Hill. You become a champion there then you're guaranteed a invitation to Professor Genkie's Super Ethical Reality Climax."
Alice stood up, clearly excited at the prospect of a murder circus. Dovak continued, "I know you're excited, but we do have to deal with the other stuff first. Like this paperwork, this will help cover the third step."
Eli looked over the contract, it was fairly straightforward. He would be, on paper at least the head of accounting for Warlord Incorporated. Not the Ceo he always wanted to be but he still be his own boss. Then he noticed Neenah official position as head of asset appraisal. A believable position given her art degree.
Then he heard Alice yell, "Why the fuck is my job title your personal assistant!?" Dovak calmly answered, "Because you were dumb enough to sign a contract with Marshall and they have a ridiculous 10 year no compete clause. So I can't have you listed as head of security or head of asset acquisition."
Alice thought about it for a moment, then with a slighty defeated tone said, "Oh... I guess Atticus would be petty enough to do something like that." Then Dovak said, "Look when that contract expires or Marshall no longer exists then we can talk about changing your official title. It's not like you're my actual assistant after all." Alice reluctantly agreed, then Dovak said, "I'm glad we're all on the same page, now we have other important decisions to make. Like do we want a name and logo."
...
'Something just doesn't seem right.' Those were the thoughts of Viola Dewinter. The conflict was going as expected, since everyone was ready for it, no one was losing ground. It felt like a conflict for the sake of conflict, which meant without a game-changer there would be no winner.
Or, at least that was how it was supposed to go. Her sister Kiki told her that they were receiving unusual pressure from the Westside Rollers. The Dewinter sisters' racket was prostitution, there wasn't a trick in this town where they weren't receiving a cut. Honestly, they were expecting this from the Vice Kings who wanted to expand onto that market.
There was supposed to be at least three different territories between them. Then her phone rang, she was then told that Los Panteros, The Sons of Samedi, and the Ronin were launching direct attacks on their brothels. It was all too much, was there an alliance or did everyone really want the prostitution game that badly.
Suddenly, Viola turned to see a man just standing there. She and Kiki immediately pulled out their guns. Viola shouted, "Who are?! How did you get in here?!" The man casually said, "Is that really the important question you want answered, or perhaps, do you want to know how I can help you."
A explosion in the distance caused Viola and Kiki to look at each other. The man then said, "My name is Khan Dovak, and I can help you escape. If you're interested." The sound of gunfire getting closer put an emphasis on their need to make a decision soon. Viola's instincts were screaming not to trust this man, but if she didn't both her, and her sister would die here. Kiki then said, "Why should we trust you? How do we know you're not leading us into some sort of trap?!"
Dovak laughed and then said, "Why would I do that, they going to burst through that door in a few minutes. Now, you can stay and see who gets to die first or you can leave with me and get payback." As he walked to the door, Viola and Kiki immediately began to follow him. Before they realized it, they were in car driving away, Viola and Kiki looked back just in time to see their office burst into flames.
As they drove away, Viola turned and said, "Alright, thank you for saving us, but don't expect to suddenly crawl into your bed. Now, who are you working for? The Feds, or some other organization?" Dovak responded, "I am part of a new up and coming group. We're quite small at the moment, but thanks to the actions of our competition there is potential for rapid growth. If you have concerns, our groups hitter will be attending tonight's online episode of Boot Hill."
Later that night they were left speechless watching Alice's performance. After accepting their new work conditions, Dovak had bottle of champagne, and now despite her earlier statement, here she and Kiki were removing their clothes and getting into his bed.
His hands caressed their bodies. Neither of them were in the head space to stifle any moaning. Viola found Kiki lying on top of her, then she felt it. Dovak was fucking them both, it was fast and rough and they were enjoying every moment of it. There bodies shaked with every thrust, surges of pleasure threatened to overwhelmed them as he hit different angles. Their moans became more desperate, as they both reached their limits.
Finally, Viola felt Dovak's dick begin to pulse. Then a massive load was released into her, then he released another load into Kiki. They laid there too exhausted to move, then he started up again. She couldn't believe it. It continued until they passed out. Viola didn't know what time it was, but she was glad to finally sleep.
...
Khan watched as the Dewinter sisters were passed out, their bodies glistening in sweat from last night activities. Alice's performance last night had earned her a spot S.E.R.C. and unlike the game, Eli's phone was not drowning in a sea of messages asking to join this crew. That was an annoying plot hole, as to why that happened and the cops didn't know anything.
As Khan walked out of his room, he saw Alice and Eli leaving to go practice shooting. Neenah stayed behind to work on her car. He walked up behind her and said, "Neenah, you and I need to talk about these issues you seem to have with me."
Neenah turned around and said, "Look, I don't know you and I don't trust you. Why don't you just continue to bang those slut twins and leave the rest of us alone!" Before she could go back to working on her car, Khan forced a kiss. Her eyes glazed over, and her body became stiff.
He brought her inside and said, "I honestly planned to do this to you later, but your attitude suggests that if I do you'll do something foolish like try to turn everyone against me."
Back in his room, he began to remove her clothes. The Dewinter sisters barely stirred, their exhaustion still evident. As Khan claimed Neenah, the look in her eyes went from blank and unfocused to one of lust filled adoration and subservience.
Khan sat at the edge of his bed; Neenah was happily taking as much of his dick into her mouth as she could and fingering herself while doing so. He thought about how he needed to step-up the recruitment. Not just women into his harem but people to work the crew. He sent text messages to Alice about the potential recruits and their backgrounds. The woman had a never give up mentality and wouldn't stop until everyone of those potential recruits had joined. Giving him more free time to pursue his real goals.
