Chapter 46: You Can Call Me By My Name

A complete silence enveloped the surroundings.

Everyone’s eyes were wide open, as if they had seen a ghost.

Deng Man couldn’t help but blurt out. “Grandpa Liu, are you still asleep?”

Liu Zhen was a master of chinese medicine and usually had a short fuse. On normal days, he was quite fond of his disciple’s daughter, Deng Man, but for some reason, today he completely changed his nature and scolded her. “Asleep? If I had continued sleeping any longer, I would’ve died!”

“Little Deng, you had better take control of your daughter in the future. She ought to be studying hard in her senior Year 3, don’t let her come here as often as she likes.”

Deng Man took a step back in shock. Grandpa Liu was forbidding her from coming here in the future?

Just as she wanted to argue back, her father covered her mouth.

Her father had been spit on by Master Liu just a moment ago and he did not even dare to clean his face. How could he possibly allow his daughter to offend Master Liu?

Bai Chuwei revealed a meaningful smile and said, “Four Season Spring is a rather expensive medicinal ingredient. There’s no need for you to give it for free. I’ll pay for it instead.”

But Liu Zhen cried out instantly. “Dear Ancestor, I’ll gift it to you! Let me give it to you! I have plenty here!”

Before Bai Chuwei could speak any further, Liu Zhen ran towards the storefront and howled at the stunned medical apprentice. “Why are you still standing here? Immediately count the remaining inventory of the Four Season Springs inside the shop and bring it all out!”

After Master Liu issued the command, everyone started working in a frenzy.

Bai Chuwei smiled and shrugged her shoulders at Deng Man.

It was not her fault. It was the old man who insisted on giving it.

“Send all the ingredients to Liuji Medicine Hall’s entrance.” Bai Chuwei ordered.

Soon, various large medicine halls had delivered the ingredients as instructed.

Liu Zhen, who had changed his clothes and was walking towards the area, was stunned by the scene before him. Was there an epidemic coming? Or was there a big sale on?

Every single item was precious and expensive.

Bai Chuwei raised her chin and motioned at Duan Feihan. “The Four Seasons Spring is free, but we have to pay the other medicine halls.”

That pile of medicinal ingredients finally cost Duan Feihan a total of three hundred million yuan, but he did not react in the slightest.

Duan Feihan sent for a driver to deliver all the medicinal ingredients to Bai Chuwei’s residence.

Bai Chuwei looked at the trembling Liu Zhen and said with a smile, “Don’t worry, I won’t let your teacher look for you again in your dreams.”

Liu Zhen frantically nodded and trembled. He hastily sent Bai Chuwei and Duan Feihan out of the Liuji Medicine Hall.

The skies were beginning to darken while Duan Feihan walked side by side with Bai Chuwei.

Bai Chuwei looked up at the night sky in boredom and sighed. The sky in Sea City was way inferior compared to Yunwu Mountain where stars dotted the entire panorama.

“Miss Bai, these medicinal ingredients are not for my father. Am I correct?” The man asked her abruptly.

Bai Chuwei stopped walking and looked at him while blinking her eyes. “Didn’t I ask you to call me sister?”

The man’s expression appeared grim as he looked at her.

Bai Chuwei could only laugh as she said, “Forget it, it doesn’t matter if you don’t wish to. You can call me as you like.”

The two continued walking side by side and Bai Chuwei stroked her delicate jaw. After a moment, she replied with a thought-provoking smile. “Those are indeed not for your father. These for my personal needs. But how did you know that?”

The man suddenly closed the gap between them and a faint male perfume scent assaulted his nose. It was inexplicable… she smelled nice.

Duan Feihan said in a low voice, “Chuwei, there’s a faint medicinal scent on you.”

And by that, he meant that Bai Chuwei herself was sick.

Both of them were in such close proximity that their shadows nearly merged into each other.

Bai Chuwei’s gaze suddenly flickered and she stepped back with an easy smile. “Mr. Duan is very smart.”

She had indeed conned him.

The man stood straight, similar to a noble person belonging to the last century. He gazed at her and said slowly, “Since I’ve called you Chuwei, you can also call me by my name.”
