Chapter 6
On the weekend, Chu Yang did not go to her part-time job. She wanted to go to the antique street today to see if she could find materials to repair her crystal ball. As Chu Yang walked into the antique street, someone suddenly came up to her, "Little girl, I see your hall of impression is dark..."
Chu Yang: ?
"I see today that you and I are fated to meet. I have excellent talismans to dispel evil here... Hey hey hey, little girl, do you want me to tell your fortune? It's free." Seeing Chu Yang about to leave, the old Daoist hurried to follow her.
Chu Yang raised her eyebrows: "Go ahead and tell it."
The old Daoist observed Chu Yang's face for a while: "Your family is poor, but you work hard enough. You should be attending a good school now."
After speaking, he looked at Chu Yang. Chu Yang nodded, signaling him to continue.
The old Daoist stroked his beard: "You have someone you like, but..." The old Daoist pinched his fingers, "Aiya, that person currently has no interest in you. But I have peach blossom charms here, do you want them?"
Chu Yang: "I see your hall of impression is dark, you're definitely going to have bad luck soon." Having said that, Chu Yang left. What the old Daoist said wasn't exactly wrong, but that was the old Chu Yang, not the current one.
Old Daoist: "Hey hey hey, if you don't want it then forget it, why curse people? Let it go, let it go, I'm an old Daoist, I won't haggle with a little girl like you."
As Chu Yang walked along the antique street, she could spot the fakes with one glance. Some were genuine artifacts, but they had just come from unclean places and were covered in a layer of dark energy. She couldn't take items like that, or she would have terrible luck.
She went into a shop that looked quite formal and finally found crystal materials, but they were too expensive when she asked the price! She couldn't afford them even if she sold herself. And the crystal materials needed to repair a crystal ball were more than just a tiny bit. Sigh, she still needed to earn money first.
On the other side, the old Daoist was still peddling his charms to passing dupes. But just as he was about to make a deal with one, two people suddenly came over, "That's the Daoist! He cheated me."
The old Daoist was grabbed by the collar in utter confusion. "Swindler! Beat him to death!"
"Ow!" The old Daoist was flung to the ground. He suddenly remembered what that girl had said earlier, that he would have bad luck today!
What a coincidence!
But now wasn't the time to think about that, now he had to run away quickly...
Chu Yang didn't know what was happening over there. She was already prepared to go back. The bus back to school had arrived.
As soon as Chu Yang got on the bus, she felt something was wrong. The whole bus felt off. By now the doors were closed, and people were packed tightly inside. Chu Yang could easily bump into the people around her. A girl was squeezed against her left side. Chu Yang secretly released some witch power...
A vision of the whole trip flashed through Chu Yang's mind. At first the bus stopped at each station smoothly, with people getting on and off.
But when the bus got to the Ring Road Bridge, something went wrong. The driver's face suddenly turned sallow as he clutched his chest, clearly having some physical problem. The driver had wanted to slowly pull over, but two people on the bus suddenly started arguing loudly. One shoved the other, who bumped into the door by the driver's seat. Because the bus had slowed down, a car behind suddenly crashed into it. The driver's hand slipped, and the bus quickly spun around and another car hit the other side. The bus quickly crashed off the bridge, with none of the passengers surviving...
Chu Yang opened her eyes, her face now pale, but she didn't say anything. She couldn't tell them to stop the bus immediately, because no one would believe her and it would attract too much attention.
Chu Yang held tightly onto the handrail. She was at the rear of the bus. As people got off at the next stop, making a bit more room, Chu Yang slowly moved forward toward the front. As the bus continued on, Chu Yang lost her balance and bumped into a male student in front of her who was a head taller.
But he immediately pushed her away and retreated back two steps.
Chu Yang looked up at the male student, covering her head. His features were elegant and his skin as fair as hers. His arms were crossed and he had a disgusted look, as if she had sullied him...
Chu Yang was speechless, but she didn't have time to care right now. She continued forward, and so did he...
Finally she made it to the front of the bus. Just as the male student was about to say "Don't come closer!" Chu Yang had already stopped and kept glancing at the driver.
Seeing that she didn't continue toward him and seemed to not be looking at him, the male student's mouth moved but he didn't say anything more.
The bus was about to get on the Ring Road Bridge. Chu Yang stared fixedly at the driver. He looked back pleadingly!
The male student in front of her also sensed something wrong. He was still puzzled why this person wasn't trying to take advantage of him but was looking at the driver. But this driver looked forty-something and wasn't handsome either...
Chi Yan also looked at the driver, and immediately sensed that something was off. Chu Yang on the side also saw the driver put one hand on his chest and frown...
At the same time, two people on the bus started arguing loudly. The other passengers quickly moved back to avoid getting involved. No one tried to stop it, and some even started filming it, but Chu Yang immediately turned and shouted, "What are you arguing about?" Then she turned back to the driver, "Uncle driver? What's wrong?"
The driver uncle gripped the steering wheel tightly and looked at Chu Yang pleadingly!
Hearing Chu Yang shout, everyone else immediately stopped. When they heard something was wrong with the driver uncle, they wanted to go up front, but Chi Yan on the side quickly opened the driver's protective door. He grabbed the steering wheel in one hand, turned on the emergency blinkers with the other, and pressed the brake with his foot, slowly pulling the bus over to the side of the road.
Seeing the blinking lights, the car behind that was about to crash into them immediately slowed down without hitting them. After Chi Yan stopped the bus, he immediately turned to Chu Yang: "Call 120 [emergency services]!"
Chu Yang immediately called 120, while someone else called 110 [police].
After that, Chi Yan carried the driver out and lay him down flat in the middle of the bus. The driver couldn't speak, but pointed at a bag on the seat. Chu Yang immediately went to grab it and found a bottle of medication inside. Chi Yan also found the driver's water bottle in his seat.
The two worked together to get the driver to take his medicine and drink some water. After taking the medicine, the driver's complexion was no longer so poor. A few minutes later, 120 and 110 arrived, and everyone relaxed. No one knew who started clapping first, but soon everyone was applauding.
Some people gave Chu Yang and Chi Yan a thumbs up, "Well done!"
Chu Yang smiled, then suddenly felt weak and almost fell with her legs going soft, as she had exhausted a lot of spiritual power. Chi Yan next to her reached out to steady her. An auntie also came over, "Oh dear, you look a little pale, are you uncomfortable anywhere?"
She helped Chu Yang sit down on a nearby chair. Chu Yang shook her head, "Just low blood sugar, I'm fine. I was just really tense."
Hearing it was nothing serious, everyone felt reassured. They had also felt it was a close call earlier. If the driver had been unwell and no one noticed, could there have been an accident? And they were on the bridge too. Thinking of this, many of them felt chills run down their spines.
A young girl took a candy from her bag and handed it to Chu Yang, "Here, eat some sugar."
Chu Yang reached out to take it with a smile at the girl, "Thanks."
Seeing Chu Yang's pretty face flush red, the girl waved her hand, "Don't mention it."
