Three-body: The Most Competent Wallfacer in History

Jiang Yu had a very long dream in which he felt himself becoming dazed like the "Curtain," drifting aimlessly through the vast universe.

It was so lonely.

So solitary.

There was nothing here.

The sudden sound of an alarm woke Jiang Yu from his sleep, and he was somewhat bewildered, thinking he was still dreaming.

Because when the alarm at the Wallfacer's residence went off, it meant that the Solar System State was facing a sudden major disaster or an event that risked national extinction.

Jiang Yu looked at the clock. Everything was fine before he went to bed, and he had only slept five or six hours. How could the alarm have gone off?

He suddenly woke up with a start, realizing that there might be further developments in Big Tree's incident!

Jiang Yu hurriedly got up, "Turn off the alarm!"

Then he asked the Milky Way computer, "What happened?"

The Milky Way computer reported, "A few minutes ago, Song Xingrui, the captain of the Second Reconnaissance Corps, sent over a video. The staff confirmed that the Solar System State is undergoing an abstract mathematical Dark Forest Strike!"

"Who launched the strike?" Jiang Yu asked further.

Milky Way computer, "It's not clear yet."

Jiang Yu was now fully awake, "Help me contact the other Wallfacers, as well as the relevant staff. I'll watch Song Xingrui's video first."

The Milky Way computer immediately began playing the video, which showed a spaceport in the background with a few sporadic spaceships docked inside.

Song Xingrui's voice then came through, "The initial chaos began at this spaceport."

No sooner had he spoken when one of the spaceships inside the spaceport suddenly changed, turning into two!

Jiang Yu thought he was seeing things and looked closely. Indeed, it had become two ships, but these two ships quickly disintegrated as if someone invisible was taking them apart!

Following that, the number of parts also changed, increasing and decreasing intermittently!

The camera then switched, and Song Xingrui appeared in the stereoscopic video, looking a bit melancholic at the camera, "The change in the ships at the spaceport did not draw our attention at first.

"But the changes that subsequently occurred to us made us realize the severity of the problem!

"Please keep an eye out!"

As he spoke, Song Xingrui stretched his right hand towards the camera, his five fingers trembling slightly.

Furthermore, the appearance of the six fingers felt entirely natural, with no sense of discordance whatsoever.

Song Xingrui clenched and unclenched his six fingers as if feeling the difference from having five.

He then said to the camera, "We suspect that we are under a mathematical attack!

"This attack seems to have just begun, so its impact on this planetary system is limited, only causing changes such as having an extra finger, but afterwards, we can't predict what form it will take.

"Fortunately, the people of this planet have already retreated into a microcosm. To avoid affecting the inside of the microcosm, we've decided to destroy the external entrance to the microcosm!"

The standard procedure for retreating into a microcosm is for administrative staff and a portion of the garrisoned corps' warriors to follow the people into the microcosm, maintaining order within.

Most of the garrisoned corps' soldiers delay according to the situation, or get ready to support the attacking corps.

The Solar System State has two types of corps: one is the defensive legion, akin to local armed police.

The second is the attack legion, which originated from the three major corps and the Earth Corps; today, after several reorganizations, they have evolved into twelve legions.

Without orders from a Wallfacer, attack legions are not allowed to retreat into microcosms for sanctuary, but they can use jump engines to dodge Dark Forest Strikes.

And under the command of Wallfacers, they lie in wait to counterstrike.

Song Xingrui's reconnaissance corps belonged to the Second Corps. Though their garrison was within the planetary system, the Constitution stipulated that they would not participate in the retreat during the advent of the Dark Forest.

In the last bit of the video, Song Xingrui said, "We don't know what will happen next, but we can't rule out the possibility that we will spread the digital influence to other planetary systems.

"To prevent such a scenario, our reconnaissance corps' soldiers will not retreat proactively; instead, they will await further orders at the garrison!"

After watching the video, Jiang Yu let out a deep sigh before asking, "Have all the Wallfacers arrived?"

Milky Way Computer: "Everyone is here."

"Connect!"

Jiang Yu's surroundings immediately changed as if he were in a spacious office.

This was not a spatial change but a visual illusion created by the Milky Way Computer using holographic imaging technology.

Sitting in the chair at the head of the room, Jiang Yu asked, "How extensive is the mathematical attack?"

Wei Xiang reported, "Currently, only the reconnaissance corps' garrison in the Bohai Star System has reported receiving a mathematical attack."

Jiang Yu rubbed his temples and said, "This reminds me of when the Solar System suffered a Two-Dimensional Strike. The entire strike lasted several days! That gave us a chance to escape.

"This current strike appears to be economic in nature, unlike our two-dimensional weapons, which can have a destructive effect immediately!"

Everyone nodded in agreement with Jiang Yu's speculation.

Jiang Yu turned to Xiao Qi and said, "Quickly contact Jiang Shiliu; let the humans from the Five-dimensional World also participate in this meeting. Their suggestions may be crucial for us."

Xiao Qi acknowledged with a nod and promptly stood up from his position.

Jiang Yu then asked the scholars, "Now that we have seen the initial force of the mathematical attack, in what direction is it likely to develop?"

Dean Li Zihui of the Science Academy said, "Based on our observations, the initial changes were quantitative, like the changes to Song Xingrui's fingers.

"We speculate that what will follow are changes in mathematical structures, such as the proportions within the Pythagorean theorem shifting, which could cause many of our buildings to collapse due to changes in mathematical structures.

"Our spacecraft may disintegrate because of changes in mathematical structures, just like at the beginning of the video sent by the reconnaissance corps."

At that moment, a cross-dimensional communicator appeared in the conference room, and Jiang Shiliu emerged in its "water mirror."

The seated researchers immediately stood, saluting Jiang Shiliu!

Jiang Shiliu's prestige among the researchers was akin to Jiang Yu's amongst Wallfacers.

He greeted everyone, "Wallfacers, everyone."

Jiang Shiliu continued, "I have been apprised of the current situation; please, proceed."

Li Zihui continued his report, "Ultimately, it will be the cosmic constants that change, stars will burn out, and planets will disintegrate.

"This planetary system will become a vast realm of digital chaos, and if left unchecked, this chaotic realm might never recover until the end of the universe."

Jiang Yu asked, "What about Song Xingrui and his team?"

Li Zihui sighed, "Currently, any spacecraft may disintegrate in space; to be frank, their chances of survival might be slightly longer if they stay in the camp."
